Hi - anyone fancy making up a thread for babies born this month? My dd (child no 4 ) was born on 6th Jan - I have had a rough time so far with feeding (cracked nipples etc) but things have started to improve now (I think). if only I could get her to sleep at night....

dd just rolled over was trying to all week and now just lifted her head up and she did it mind you has not done it since so happy, first baby so getting excited about all the little milestones!

luvlymum · 15/07/2005 09:10

My dd rolled over for the first time on Monday too! she's doing it all the time now but she can't roll back so she ends up stuck on her tummy in the cot and cries til someone rescues her, bless!!!

angie0201 · 15/07/2005 09:31

ahh its so exciting isn't it mind you everyone i tell seems to frown at me and say you wont have no peace now i know this but nobody seems to be getting as excited as me! 1st babe i suppose it will all be diff next time i suppose

Magscat · 15/07/2005 19:59

Luvlymum - snap with the roll & get stuck till she gets rescued - that's just what Lily does. Pain in the bum when she does it several times in the night !

Angie - Lily is my 2nd but my 2 are quite different from each other & 3.5 years apart so I've forgotten lots of the baby stuff & I'm still getting excited about the things she does - like when she chuckled for the 1st time and how she's just started rolling and she's sort of starting to lift her arms up to be picked up now (at least I think she did it the other day).

I tihnk it's fine to get all giddy about these things & I really don't care if I bore all my freinds to death with it

angie0201 · 16/07/2005 09:35

dd gets her arm stuck under her body when she rolls over and i have to rescue her too! thank god she hasn't started doing it in the nite yet. Yes i have decided i dint care if people think i'm mad i still am going to get excited.
oh and i dont know if any of you have heard of dartington crystal but i have just had an imprint of dd hand and foot in glass and it looks fantastic almost brought a tear to my eye wow if any of you are down in devon its well worth a look

dizzymama · 16/07/2005 21:12

angie0201 · 17/07/2005 10:12

hi dizzymama its in a place called torrington which is in north devon the phone number is 01805 626262 but you have to book and gotta pick it up a day after it is done so the glass drys but they show you how they do it and turn it out so you can see it before you leave that day. i was going to buy a casting kit but it all seemed to complicated i'm not v artistic! but i have her name engraved on it and the date it was done too! if you wanna CAT me i could get hold of a leaflet for you and if you send me your address i would post it to you if you want. will take a pic too on the dig camera and email it to you picking it up mon

dizzymama · 17/07/2005 15:51

gosh haven't been here for ages. good o catch up. DS3 is still in his hammock. Sometimes going 12 hours, sometimes not! 2 teeth/ Trying to crawl - which is weird for me as my other 2 were blobs and were happy to sit until about 11 months.

Angie- I'm n Devon too!

angie0201 · 17/07/2005 19:28

Jimjams · 17/07/2005 19:46

Plymouth angie

angie0201 · 17/07/2005 20:05

nice place really good for shopping my sister-in-law is at marjons uni which is down there so spend a lot more time down that way now

dizzymama · 17/07/2005 22:35

We normally head Plymouth way and then across to Cornwall and The Lizard area. We like to take our time travelling! I know Bideford, we've been there a few times and really liked it. It's in our long term plan (next five years or so) to end up down south, preferably near the moors. This is the first year with baby so our slow travelling will probably be quickened up. Hoping to spend a night or two in Devon still though.

angie0201 · 19/07/2005 09:44

Angie0201- thanks for your message- had to go to bed as dd wakes at 3 for some reason!Shes really enjoying her first foods and think this will help with reflux.

angie0201 · 26/07/2005 21:59

How are everyone elses babies doing doesn't time fly!!

angelcake99 · 27/07/2005 13:51

Hi everyone! Just thought i would join this thread, my little boy was born on 11th jan and he's doing great! The only thing is i'm not too sure if i am getting the hang of weaning. What are your routines? Does anyone follow Annabel Karmel or Gina Ford? Also has everyones babies progressed to drinking from cups? I haven't even tried yet and am begining to feel like I'm missing out.
