Pinkjenny · 27/05/2008 12:56

Jam - it'll be fine. Honestly. Sending hugs, kisses, and a HUGE Boneless Bucket your way!

Megglevache · 27/05/2008 12:59

Oh really? By whom?

Hey I would have paid good money to have been a fly on the wall when you and SOH were discussing names!

MKG · 27/05/2008 13:25

Good morning everyone!! Mateo has taken to taking all the boxes out from under the bed because he's "looking for treasure". Needless to say a stack of old bills is not a treasure.

Jam--Don't worry, you and your bean will be fine. I have a good feeling.

LG&T--Sorry your feeling like crap. Go get a scan and see what's what. I'm dying to know if your carrying sextuplets. That would give you enough kids for two basketball teams and 2 on the bench, or two volleyball teams.

TYG--Go and raise hell with the cops. They shouldn't ignore you like that. If they don't respond go to their superior officer and let them know how incompetent they are.

ShowOfHands · 27/05/2008 13:39

KFC isn't food. It's fried debris.

JamInMyWellies · 27/05/2008 13:42

SOH - lalalalalala fingers in my ears

I know its the worst imaginable and I am someone who only buys lovely fresh organic meat but there is something about KFC.

scootermum · 27/05/2008 13:55

Well they use dark meat y'know. Not like McDonalds hundred per cent breast meat. (need all the bonus we can get if im to get my C max!)

What hosp is it Jam just out of interest? Will be thinking of you..and now you are in Essex its not so far to Herts y'know..bob round for a cuppa anytime you like..

L has just rung (well DH dialled for her she isnt that advanced) to tell me she ate ALL the fish pie I made last night for her lunch and also an egg. This wouldnt be notable except for followers of Lilys antics who will be aware that she only eats Ham and Cheese and Chocolate as a rule.Very proud Mummy.

If Mateo finds any treasure tell him to send some to his Aunty Scoot MKG..I have seen the frock I want for Ascot, but I will need some gold bars to pay for it!(I AM going, poorly or not..I have been trying to go for years and have never yet made it for one reason or another)

scootermum · 27/05/2008 13:56

Pebble..How onearth did you p[ersuade Dh to go and see SATC?!My DH cant even look at SJP without muttering expletives..

MKG · 27/05/2008 14:07

Scoot-HE won't be finding any treasure here.

I have to agree with SOH on the KFC front. I smells so good, but it's made from nothing but crap.

How can you guys afford organic stuff it's so expensive it's ridiculous. Here organic is usually double what we usually pay, and as it is fruits and veg are so expensive. It's cheaper to eat crap than it is to eat healthy here.

scootermum · 27/05/2008 14:13

Only the posh ones can MKG..Jam goes to pick it up in her Silver Rolls Royce wearing her Tiara and avoiding the longing gaze of the lowly villagers she passes..

No, it is pricey..but there have been too many scary programmes on TV about what goes into cheaper meat, not to mention the poor animals and the way its produced, so I do buy it where I can possibly afford it and the rest of the time we eat pasta and crisps..(which is probably hypoctitical in the extreme given DH's job but still)

cameroonmama · 27/05/2008 14:20

KFC??? McDonalds??? Zip it you lot, we only get organic. Just when you want to eat a bit of crap you bloody well can't. Apart from chips, you can get chips everywhere oh and chapatis.

Meat here is cheaper than cereal! I have just bought 4 chicken breasts, 6 drumsticks, 6 pieces of fillet steak all for £12. One pack of cornflakes (not Kellogs that's even more] one of Rice Krispies and some muesli, together come to the same as the meat. Sod breakfast.

TYG - that is just shocking, the Met, what a waste of time. Go be a pregnant woman and shout at them a lot.

Jam, it will be fine. We will collectively hold hands tomorrow morning.

Scoot are you feeling any better at all?

Have to go now and read pony books...

scootermum · 27/05/2008 14:32

I feel a bit better today thanks Cam...still getting stomach pains every so often but not every half a hour like before and none that have made me actually have to sit down/swear out loud since Sunday actually which is pretty good.Am hopeful that whatever it is will go away.Unless it is my appendix afterall, as iof that brsts I think im correct in saying that you die, do you?

Still if meat is so cheap you could always take to the Atkins diet..you will end up with a figure like Cameron Diaz!

cameroonmama · 27/05/2008 14:36

Already got a figure like Cameron Diaz

I had a burst appendix and I'm still alive. Sometimes that's debatable..

Pinkjenny · 27/05/2008 15:07

I stand by KFC. I don't eat it because I think its healthy! I'm not that deluded. Don't worry Scoot - I love McDonalds too, I don't discriminate.

L will be having neither though. And I never eat them. I purposely stay away.

MKG · 27/05/2008 16:20

I haven't been to McDonalds in a long time. I only crave fast food when I'm pregnant, otherwise I find it gross when I eat it my face always feels so greasy.

Pinkjenny · 27/05/2008 16:22

And yet none of this is putting me off. What a little piggy I am.

There are some seriously strange people on MN - some people are so aggressive. I never realised until I had four days a week to lurk!!!

AbbyLou · 27/05/2008 16:49

Hi Guys!
Scoot I too had a burst appendix, it bloody hurt but I'm still here to tell the tale! Did you get my email by the way? Please let me send the girls a little something, just to say thanks for having a very generous Mummy who goes out of her way to send doughnuts to a complete stranger even when she's feeling like shit!!
Isn't this weather awful. I took the kids to town this morning because I had a few bits to get but we went in the car as it was raining. This afternoon i realised I had forgotten stamps so I though sod it and we all got into wet weather gear and walked to the Post Office. It was actually lovely to get out of the house and get some fresh air, I go stir crazy if I have to stay in! It only drizzled a bit actually so we didn't really get wet either. I had to bribe C to walk all the way there and back with a treat from the shop!
They're both having a rest now although I don't think it will last long. C hasn't asked to go to bed in the day for months so I hope he is alright. Must have been the walk that wore him out!
BTW, as far as fast food goes, Maccy D's is the king!

MKG · 27/05/2008 17:10

Scoot--A friend of mine had cysts that burst and had terrible tummy pains. Have you seen anybody about this?

twelveyeargap · 27/05/2008 17:18

Nando's every time. Yum. The chicken isn't even fried.

By chance, the PCSOs for the area called in at lunchtime today to ask was everything ok after the burglary. Told them about the Oyster card and not getting any joy on the phone. They took the print out of the journeys and all the other relevant details and said they'd hand it all in at the station for me. Said they'd call me by tomorrow to let me know if the sgt in charge is interested in using the info, plus they gave me the Sgt's direct number. It has restored my faith in the Met somewhat... We'll just have to see if they do anything with it. My local MP is her party Commons spokesperson on crime and disorder so I'll get in touch with her if it looks like they don't have the resources or can't be bothered to follow up.

But, for those of you with partners in the force - don't get me wrong. I realise that the police have stupid amounts of paperwork to do and there aren't enough people to go round. I'm not having a pop directly - I'm frustrated at the lack of communication between departments and the inherent problems in the force that make a policeman's job hard to do and make it hard for me to help them.

ShowOfHands · 27/05/2008 17:30

Oh TYG m'love, ask LG&T, I rarely have a good thing to say about the bureaucracy and structure of the police force. Or the military for that matter. DH knows my views. I'm glad the PCSOs seem to be helping.

PJ, I'm mildly concerned that I'm one of the 'strange people' you refer to on MN. I had hoped to convince LG&T that I'm entirely normal. I toned down the homemade/patchwork/hemp side of my personality as much as I could. I only wore one homemade skirt I think and I left my straw hat in the car. Unfortunately, an interrogation from a conversation with MrLG&T confirmed the horrid truth. Am a dull, odd hippy.

AprilMeadow · 27/05/2008 20:52

JAM, please include me in your handing holding at the scan tomorrow. It'll all be fine xx

TYG, that's awful! I hope that they can now find the bastard that robbed you. Glad S had a good party.

SOH, am so gutted that i couldnt get down to see you at the weekend - bloody dh!

LG&T, i have an idea of how you are feeling as i was sick as a pig with Ella from before i knew i was pg until 17wks - fingers crossed that it doesnt last that long for you.

Pink, thanks for your address, dh is posting it tomorrow so should arrive Thursday (that also goes for SOH & LG&T's packages).

Scoot, i hope that you are able to get to the bottom of your pains. You really have suffered this last year. I would go for the C-MAX. I had one this time last year and it was fab. Loads of space, fairly high up so i felt safer. Get a diesel tho as the one i had was a 1.8 petrol and it drank fuel.

Didnt make it work today as i spent the day at the new house sorting out kitchen fitters, bathroom deliveries (took 4 hours to unload), bed arriving and the man to measure for blinds. Boss not very happy but its not like they can sack me

elkiedee · 27/05/2008 22:28

Jam, hope the scan goes well tomorrow and I'll be trying to get on to find out when I can.

TYG, what a cheek of "your" burglar. Perhaps he's one of my neighbours. I was thinking when I was reading that it sounds like the sort of thing your local MP would like to get stuck into, sure she could get a big story in the local newspapers out of it.

Stop talking about KFC please, I'm getting cravings. I think we have a fried chicken chain named after every southern US state in this area.
