cd, any idea why you feel ill? hope it doesn't last long

bramshott, glad the weekend went ok

hi oooggs and luce

dd's party is in the church hall(also where her preschool is) it's cheap to hire and it'll be easier than cramming kids in my house. I can't afford to pay for loads of kids to go to soft play, plus the parties i've been to at those places i've notbeen too impressed with tbh.

her party will just be 20ish kids running round like headless chicken and playing the odd game oh and some food. They don't eat much so it'll be quite cheap.

Dd's got a party this afternoon and i'm hoping it'll be a drop and leave one. It's hard to know at this age. My dd is not worried about being left but some children are so i think alot of them are stay if you want. Thing is i don't want to be the only mean mum leaving. At dd's party I fully expect most mums to leave. Not really relishing the thought of being left with 20 odd kids but i'll bring adult reinforcements, wonder if i can get my childless friends to come along

Eddas · 19/05/2008 11:28

x-posts dooby, i'm sure the repeating thing is age related but it doens't make it les irritating.

Oh and jabs went fine, normally cry but a breeze compared to the preschool ones when dd went on about them all day and for the next week(s) 'are my injections still on mummy?' 'don't touch my are mummy, my injections'

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/05/2008 11:29

message from Pisha
"Buggery fuck. We spilt wine on the laptop sat night and now it doesn't work. Bought it on catalogue so have cover but could take weeks . What the fuck am I meant to do with myself?!"

I've suggested she could do housework instead

(personally I think it serves them right for drinking wine instead of behaving themselves better, and I can say what I like, she can't see it!!! )

Octothechildherder · 19/05/2008 11:42

Hello (((waves)))
It is Ted's party this weekend potc - so unlikely to be around and may go away next week

Dh has taken voluntary redundancy which we are pleased about so he is going to be around for a bit - he is going to set his own IT consultancy.

((whispers - where is the post potc emailed us about???)))

oooggs · 19/05/2008 11:43

lol - so we can all talk about pisha and she can't see us

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/05/2008 11:51

we can say all sorts and she'll never know

and if we post loads and loads she'll never catch up and see it

right at the end of the last thread Octo, I think it was the Calpol title?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/05/2008 11:52

I'm sneaking on at lunch as well. Having a crap day at work, want to pack it in and a bit fed up really! The house is brilliant though and I'll have internet again soon. Hurrah! Love to all

mammyjo · 19/05/2008 14:42

Hi all. Been back to GP today and he has signed me off for another two weeks. Phoned my boss who sounded none too pleased. I feel guilty tbh, but what can I do? I am struggling to get by day to day some of the time, and work was just too much last week. He did say that a surgery date shouldn't be too far away, as they wouldn't bother to do a pre assessment thing very early. I really hope he is right. I hate feeling crap and really want things over and done with. I do not make a good patient!

Hope everyone is well. Sorry I haven't caught up properly.

Ellie, what were you thinking for the weekend? I am around, but it does depend on how I am feeling closer to the time. Crap, I know. I feel like I can't plan anything at the moment as I have no idea how I will feel tomorrow iykwim.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/05/2008 14:47

No idea mj
Just that I'm down that way so thought I may as well mention it!
I can get dropped off at the train station, or Bristol sort of area, and then go wherever the trains will take us for the day!

oooggs · 19/05/2008 19:12

mj - hope you feeling better soon

CaptainDippy · 19/05/2008 19:53

Hope you feel better soon, MJ xx

Hope Pisha's beavering away with the housework right now

Something amazing happened to me today ...... some lovely wonderful people I know send us a cheque for a generous sum of money, which I duly paid into one of the banks we have an overdraft with to try and make some sort of dent in it Well, the bank called DH today and told them that because of the cheque they had cleared the whole debt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still in shock ......

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2008 20:08

Dippy - that's fantastic
T has spent the day with his granny- he's had a wonderful day but has come back with tiny brambles embeded in his hands after feeling the bushes on their walk - DH is not impressed

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 19/05/2008 20:43

Poor little man dooby Hope ABs work. xx

WestCountryLass · 19/05/2008 21:40

Pillock, I am not around that weekend, we are going to Belgium for the weekend. Sorry to have missed you!

Good luck to your DH Octo. As you know, my DH is self employed IT Consultant so lthough it can be hard in the early days it is worth it.

WestCountryLass · 19/05/2008 21:42

Doobydoo, seriously consider cranial osteopathy. My DS1 had lots of ear inf and glue ear and we were threatened with grommets, took him to CO and it cleared it all up and did not have them.

Oh your poor little DS Dooby Hope the ABs work - he has been on them so long!
No, they don't seem to be bothering him, DH was upset as he was trying to pull them out and really distressing T, I rang mum and she said just to leave them, so we are
He had his first walk today - not just a step, but a few, in a particular direction! Very wobbly but he was so pleased with himself Still sees it as a novelty though - something to impress the parents - but crawling is the way to get from A to B!

Evening ladies

Have read through and forgotten stuff again

MJ, I am glad you have been signed off again. Tough tits to work. Your health is far more important. Hope you are ok and dh is being less of an arse xx

Oooggs, glad the dt's are getting on so well - long may it last xx

Dooby, poor poor M - what a nightmare for him and you. No exp of CO, but I have heard it is great for lots of things.

Dippy, wonderful news re the cheque Hope you are feeling better.

WCL, lovely to see you. Enjoy your w/e in Belgium.

Pmsl at Pisha and her unfortunate wine spill - what a waste of wine

Bramshott, glad the w/e went ok.

Hi POTC

Eddas, how are you doing? Sounds like you are frantic.

Sorry if I have missed anyone.

All good here. Busy with work and also frantically finalising things for B's b'day party this Saturday. I am bloody exhausted!

Right, off to bed, so see you lovelies tomorrow.x

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2008 22:03

Hi SOL!
MJ, sorry I ignored your posts - I agree, glad you have been signed off.
SOL, what do you have planned for the party?

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 19/05/2008 22:11

Sorry SPB, I didn't mention you . How is T doing?

Re the party, we have hired a hall and have a magician coming. It is just all the food buying, plates, cups, balloons, blah blh.

And the presents!

The last 2 years we have been to a soft play place where all the food is part of the deal - so much easier!!!

Right, must get to bed.

Night x
