ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

And good to see you Ria

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 02/05/2008 19:52

Evening all, busy day here too.

Went to the baby group and it was nice actually. No-one talked to me for abut 15 minutes, but then these mothers weren't talking to each other either, so maybe a bit shy. It soon warmed up a bit though.

I didn't get any of that tonic because I realised I have a pot of vit b complex that I just need to remember to take. I still have some pg vits too so I'll pop some of those.

Jammy was your reflexology good?

Ria hope your PC gets sorted soon.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/05/2008 20:42

Hi Bumper. Glad you had a good day, and hope those vitamins help perk you up.

My reflexology was good, thanks. I've been seeing this woman for nearly 2 years now, inc all the way through pregnancy. She was actually the first person other than DH to know about it, as I thought I should tell her I thought I was (hadn't actually had a positive test even, though did get it the next morning) and didn't know if I could still have the treatment. I really enjoy it, it's so relaxing (though not quite the same now I have a baby there with me). She's so nice and helpful, it's like going to see a friend. She's even one of our emergency contacts for nursery if there's ever a problem and neither of us are available.

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/05/2008 21:29

Evening all.

Hope all that have been poorly are feeling a bit better and on the mend, feels like these illness just don't go away.. DS has a cold again as well, where is that farking sunshine... come back we NEED you to get rid of all our germs!

Have good weekends Norty and Daisy! Daisy glad to hear your neck feels better, hopefully over the weekend it will settle down and feel less sore.

Bumper, hope all the pill popping helps to get you on the mend, sounds a real nasty bug you've got.

Phew! Have I missed anyone?

Sorry to hear about the terrible twos Lilkel, Natty... have no advice as seemed to pass us by, but having feeling this time next year it'll be my turn with DS!

Sputnik hope DCs are feeling better, what are the symptoms for streptoccous it sounds nasty?

ANd HI to everyone else I've missed .... Ria, DKMA, Fury, Foxy, Jammy, Andi and wheres Holly???

Try and pop in over weekend, thats if I haven't eaten half the furniture, the next doors cat, the kids, a scabby donkey..... and anything vaguely edible as I'm farking starving to death on WW!!!!!

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/05/2008 21:34

Oh and while I'm moaning about WW why oh why do I have to count fruit and veg !!! and my sugar in tea!!!! Why the heck does pineapple have a point value [sob] and bloody olives [sob] and bananas [sob, sob]

Right sorry about my rant I'll stop whinging and get with it now! Just had to off load!!!

Sputnik · 02/05/2008 21:36

Can't believe you've all got away without strep, it seems to be continously doing the rounds here. Basically it's sore throat and stomach ache, with or without fever. The doc said she didn't think DD had it, but she's going for a test tomorrow.

Well done with the weight watchers SG. I have fallen right off the wago diet-wise this week, Im really tired, not getting great sleep atm, and had a cold all week. That makes me want to eat.

Sputnik · 02/05/2008 21:40

Fallen off the wagon

In my homemade diet I give myself unlimited veg. Bananas have quite a few calories apparently, but I don't like them anyway.

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/05/2008 21:53

Maybe it has been here Sputnik just never heard of it spoken as an illnes IYSWIM, only in my previous life doing food hygiene training.

We have had so many terribel bugs here tbh, DD has had a vile sickness, rash, cold and cough virus recently, and theres slapped cheek, impetigo, chicken pox doing the rounds at DDs school too.

I haven't been 'on' the wagon long, so shouldn't complain, but finding it bloody hard not sure what I'm missing most food or wine...?

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/05/2008 21:54

Just thought about it.. the wine !!

Seansgirlthesequel · 02/05/2008 21:55

Right I am all aallllloooooonnnnneeeee!!! sooo I'm going to have a bath a read my book, its what I was supposed to be doing anyway!! Night Night xx

Seansgirlthesequel · 03/05/2008 09:46

Seems I am all alone again & Where is everyone? >>

Well I'll talk to myself, not a bad sleep night thnakfully. DS seems in ok mood. DD however very bouncy and full of that school attitude from other kids I can't stand, sure it won't be long before she says to me "bothered? Mummmy? do I look bothered?" I really hope its a long way off...

Anyway shes been packed off with DH to her dance lessons, she has exams too this pm , so long day... DS still on the edge of crawling, frequently banging his head or face, but has just out of the blue started clapping this morning and seems really pleased with himself

Right he has just gone off for his morning nap so best make the most of it and not get sucked into MN!!!!!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 03/05/2008 11:30

Hello, sorry you've been all alone SG.

Another shit night with DD again

We are having a lazy day today. Both still in our jammies.

andiem · 03/05/2008 11:49

morning all

bumper bad night here too do you feed at night I m still feeding 2/3 times a night and it needs to stoooooop

hi sg hope you were productive in nap time

ds1 and I are planting up some strawberries and veges today as the sun is shining

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/05/2008 12:11

Hi, I tried to post earlier but MN server wasn't working

Wasn't a great night here either. This morning I wrote a massive list of things that need doing around house & garden. But then we had a very lazy morning and all I've done so far is pay the paper bill & go to the library. DH is trying to fix some squeaky floorboards upstairs though.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 03/05/2008 12:32

Andie, no dd doesn't feed in the night. when she first started waking up a few weeks ago, I would feed her but she wasn't that bothered so I haven't tried since.

sorry for the bad nights all round.

Not getting anything done here either.

andiem · 03/05/2008 14:22

bumper I think that is good ds2 always roots for it in the night and I think it is going to be hard to stop but I am definitely stopping at 12 months so we will do it

foxythesnowfox · 03/05/2008 14:24

Same here Andiem, DD roots around all night - but only when we co-sleep. Shes much better off in her own bed, gets a much better nights sleep. I'm being selfish putting her in with me, I know.

Probably not best to idly give her my new sunnies to play with as I am distracted by MN

Lovely day here!

foxythesnowfox · 03/05/2008 14:38

Oh, and I'm having a productive day! None of your lazy-day jammies for me.
Oh No! I was up stipping the sofa covers and scrubbing the floors first thing this morning.

Because DP had spilt a glass of red wine, which he then proceeded to pour a pile of salt onto and leave overnight.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 03/05/2008 15:24

Hey foxy. How is DD going in her own bed?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 03/05/2008 15:29

Well I had a go at the first job on my list - tidy patio. I got about 20% of the way there and then got fed up. There's just too much rubbish to do without one of those enormous bags you can get instead of a skip, that someone then just takes away. So I'm joining DH in his sit down after he's finished his first job

foxythesnowfox · 03/05/2008 15:29

Really good thanks Bumper. She goes down fine (I consider a wee shout fine!). If she does wake up, her mobile thingy comes on and she'll usually go off again. And if she doesn't I take her into bed with me.

I don't really care if she (or the rest of them) come into bed during the night, as long as they've all left me in peace in the evening!

Am very proud of DS1 - he got Man Of The Match at footy today. He went in very determined and really, really tried. Its not really his thing, but his effort really paid off.

foxythesnowfox · 03/05/2008 15:32

Hi Jammy! If I sat down everytime DP did, nothing would get done here

We are going to the dump with rusty old bikes, old knackered garden furniture etc tomorrow. Infact, I'm meant to be looking for a new table and bench set now.

I need parental control/firewalls to block MN!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 03/05/2008 15:36

Aww, bless DS1. Glad DD is going down ok. Im curently trying to put DD down for a nap in her cot, she is really sobbing but she really has to learn to go to sleep herself. She did actually fall asleep for about 15 mins but then woke up again. I've popped in a couple of times, but the sobbing has now reached fever pitch, she does keep stopping though which makes me think she is trying to get off to sleep.

andiem · 03/05/2008 15:39

well done to ds1 foxy
we have palnted our veges in pots and the dcs are playing in the sandpit amazing how a 7 year can get back into it!

bumper ds2 has no problem going down at night but in the day he often cries when he is going down for a nap

foxythesnowfox · 03/05/2008 15:42

Bumper, sleep is so very important to a childs development. Try to remember that and stay strong. Once you've cracked it you won't look back.
