ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

I'm going to get a hot chocolate.

Does anyone fancy coming to london zoo with me? National rail have a 2 for 1 offer if you come in by train. Offer expires 31 May though I think.

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 13:06

Pah. Bollocks to it.

Right, ballet and tennis.

See you later

Love A1 Alpha Mum x

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 13:10

so that's a no to the zoo then?

kaniluja · 23/04/2008 13:10

Foxy, Its like being a school again yourself isn't? It is a difficult one, I find I am very low key with DDs achievements for fear of being caught up in it all. Hopefully she was just being factual and not thoughful? But well done little foxes

Would have loved to Fury but school hours prevent me going too far!

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 13:12

LOL Fury, sorry!

when?

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 13:13

hmm, a saturday/sunday in may is good for me - I am pretty easy. The only day I am busy is the 4th I think.

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 13:15

well we are going anyway - I've never been to London zoo - but given there is a 2-for-1 offer I thought I'd invite anyone else who may fancy it!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/04/2008 13:18

Thanks for the offer Fury, but most of our weekends in May have something on already, and we must try to get in control of the garden so shouldn't plan any other days out.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/04/2008 13:20

OK, gonna put some washing in the machine and then take the jamlet out to the park and the library.

NattyEarthMother · 23/04/2008 13:29

good afternoon ladies x

NattyEarthMother · 23/04/2008 13:31

fury i will go with you x

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 13:47

yay!

well here is all the info if anyone fancies doing something on the cheap some other time!

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 13:50

Well done Kaniluja, sounds like you've cracked the sleep thing

Good that your DS is feeling better Fury, may he stay that way, and you too. At least your flirt being away means you're spending more time on here

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 13:52

ooh sputnik I hadn't noticed that but you are right

He's still emailed me 12 times today though

kaniluja · 23/04/2008 13:54

Hoping so Sputnik, next task is to get him used to a babysitter and not just my mum

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 13:58

It's funny about the competitive mum thing. We have only 1 set of friends with small kids, a girl 1 year younger than DD. Even then I always feel like I'm treading on eggshells. I think both of us feel on safer ground discussing the (lack of) parenting skills of her SIL.

Well I have to go off and put the baby to sleep, hang out washing, put shopping away, what larks.

I think I spent a record amount in the supermarket today, Baby Sputnik is realy starting to eat his fair share around here. I think we are keeping a small banana plantation somewhere in business, and I don't even eat the bloody things.

kaniluja · 23/04/2008 13:59

Just a quick question - DS still on gaviscon can't remember who elses lo was on it too? Fury? DKMA? but have you weaned off yet?

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 14:00

Yes, you have been neglecting us Fury

Bloody hell Kani, I'm still working on that one with DD.

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 14:02

The babysitter, not the gaviscon

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 14:02

Yes DS was on it but I took him off pretty quick as it didn't seem to do much.

He was also on carobel for a while which helped - but now he is on solids he doesn't need anything like it.
Are you still have refulx problems??

NattyEarthMother · 23/04/2008 14:13

sorry fury was hungry, so went to cook lol
so when we going?

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 14:17

not sure - when are you free, I will check with DH as well (as he was planning on coming but might change his mind if he thinks it will be a girly thing!)

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 23/04/2008 14:21

will bring hubby then, what you think? then the men can bond too

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 23/04/2008 14:22

what about may 24th? ellens first birthday and we are currently planning nothing, think she would love all the animals! its a saturday, but we could do any day that week really

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 14:22

ok why the hell not!

When is good for you? I'll put it to him. Hopefully he's feeling sociable ;-)

Anyone else fancy it?
