ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

Fury, "normal life"!
[hollow laugh]

Jammy, my DD didn't crawl til a year. She finally sussed it at my parent's house on nice soft British carpeting (we have tiles). Baby Sputnik is using a combination of backwards commando and bum shuffling. Anyway, I wouldn't worry.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/04/2008 20:45

Got a cold, but OK.
Glad to have finished in the office for the week

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/04/2008 20:47

Hi Sputnik. How're you?

Sputnik · 22/04/2008 21:13

Better than last week, thanks.
Baby still teething though, so nights a bit crap.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/04/2008 21:17

Sorry about your nights Sputnik. Makes such a difference whether they're sleeping well or not doesn't it? No teeth here either, though she's shown signs of teething for months now. But she's getting to be a fan of the teething powder, she was lying on her mat pre-bed crying hard but went all quiet and smiley when she saw me pick up the sachet.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/04/2008 21:18

Awww, DH has just told me that nursery said that she was playing with two soft toys today and kept putting their faces together like they were kissing

Sputnik · 22/04/2008 21:28

They are starting to go all cute on us
Baby Sputnik gave me a hug the other day

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/04/2008 21:34

That sounds lovely Sputnik.
But I'm taking my bunged up nose to bed to see if some rest will help me shake off this cold.

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 21:35

I see fury I thought you meant actual skateboarding, lol. I'm not too quick on the uptake today am I? I'm blaming pregnant brain plus BFing brain = mental meltdown.

I have thrown away my feeding bras . DD is only really feeding at night from me now, and I'm fed up wearing the fetid, stained, nasty uncomfortable things all day every day. Put on one of my maternity bras today and it is sooooooooooooo comfy. Am going to get more this week, and I might even get a nice sexy underwired bra as well.....I'm almost giddy at the thought of nice undies. How sad does that make me?

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 21:37

glad he seem better fury, but it must be really really sore. I'd take him to the dentist anyway, just incase he's damaged them or they are loose.

Sputnik · 22/04/2008 22:05

LOL at the thought of maternity bras as sexy!

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 22:17

no, I meant a sexy underwired bra as well as some new maternity bras....

....but mind you, after 10 months of nursing bras, anything is sexy!

Riallyclean · 22/04/2008 22:20

Hi all.

I typed a big post earlier and baggins deleted it.

He wouldn't go to bed for me tonight and he was SO happy when DH came in (he was catering a shooting party - cruelty to clay pigeons)

I am trying to list my travel system on ebay and I can't get the photo uploaded, or even out of photoshop. Fecking technology

Is a Mothercare 38F support bra any use to you daisy? I bought it on ebay misguidedly thinking it would fit...

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 22:32

OMG.....when DH and I were at the hospital yesterday we parked opposite the hospital next to a closed down pub. I told DH I could smell gas and he put it down to my supersensitive nose as I got this with DD a lot.

The blardy pub has only gone and exploded today

thank goodness it didn't happen when our car was parked next to it, but I'm feeling bad now for not calling it in!

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 22:34

I'm afraid not Ria, I'm in 36G at the moment

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 22:39

Natty.....can you help this lady?

Riallyclean · 22/04/2008 22:46

It could have been anything daisy. Pubs are strange places (obviously with time vortexes as DH went for "an hour" ages ago)

I had nearly finished a very eloquent ebay listing and I clicked the wrong thing and lost the whole fecking lot.

I have become a hunni. After we had a medicinal meander round the plant nursery (to the tune of nearly £17) we popped into town to the supermarket and happened to drive past a charity shop with a buggy outside. So I bought a Graco 3 wheeler (smaller than my urban detour and NOT electric blue and lime) for £25. I am . I can't decide whether or not to keep the U-D for mucky off=roading (which hopefully we will do lots of now the weather is getting better). The travel system was going as soon as I replaced it and now I have (it's still forward facing, but there is a baggins-viewing panel in the hood). Back to bloody ebay...

38G is NOTHING!!!!!!!

lackaDAISYcal · 22/04/2008 22:54

No Ria, they said on Look North that it was a gas explosion!

No-one was badly hurt thankfully, or I might have felt really bad at not calling it in. I will in future if I smell gas again.

Riallyclean · 22/04/2008 23:20

oh. Didn't see Look North. I suppose if it's derelict you wouldn't think so much. (When I was PG I was always smelling things - mainly dog food - so no-one would have believed me anyway!)

Phew that it didn't go when you were there though.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/04/2008 07:14

Oooh, Daisy. That's a little too close for comfort. But glad nobody was hurt.

Jamlet slept (or at least kept herself quiet) 7-7 last night . Shame I got woken by DH, then couldn't get back to sleep, then later by the cat and again took ages to nod off again.

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 09:20

morning all

DS's gums look LOADS better today and he seems to be eating ok again (well he had vegemite on a muffin at 7am so I am guessing he is ok).
well my flirt thing is on holiday in Tunisia so I am a bit bored this week. He is sending me emails but it's not the same. And I am jealous. I want to be in tunisia.

is everyone well?

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 09:38

Morning! Glad DS is on the mend Fury.

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 09:38

Morning! Glad DS is on the mend Fury.

kaniluja · 23/04/2008 09:42

Hi Fury, glad to hear about DS's recovery.

Sorry as have been away so long am not up on news so what flirt thing? And PMSL at the non-furry rabbit! Dare I ask which one you're going for

Jammy - no crwling here either, just one frustrated baby! , Can't decide if its good or not as having to retrieve them from all sorts of places gets a bit wearing I seem to remember! Plus Stair gates!

Well, DS went to bed on own at 6.30 and went to sleep in about 3-4 mins of grumbling (a be it he was actually sat up asleep!) then woke about 4.30, I zoomed in - quick cuddle, pat , dummy and in cot - quick retreat and wahhhhh! for 2 mins then sleep!!

kaniluja · 23/04/2008 09:44

Right, off to make tea and make the most of DS being asleep.........
