NEW THREAD!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

oh Daisy thank you. it's the most miserable feeling thinking that your DC can't talk. He was slow to crawl and walk too - should be used to it by now but frankly he does some things so easily that it just seems like he's being lazy! And then there's the guilt...like, at least I have DCs and didn't lose mine at 39 weeks! and of course I wonder what i've done wrong...too busy...asking him to "say this or that"...sigh

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 20:17

lilkel. It must be so frustrating I would stick with the funny noises and a lot of babble though and he may well think "she might shut up if I say something" and surprise you. Does he like singing? The more humiliating for mummy the more they get out of it it seems

I can't remember baggins being more than off colour, maybe a bit warm and sniffly, daisy, his spots came two weeks after DS2s. But DS2 was fairly poorly and baggins was luckily very mild by comparison. He has made up for it today. Tooth number 6 seems to be giving him grief.

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 20:22

DH did an hours digging (if that) this morning in our negelected veg patch. He then spent the rest of the day popping tramadol and groaning and can hardly drive now. I had to cook tea too (he was quite put out I produced edible yorkshire puddings). I want to go to work tomorrow so I don't have to listen!

Any tips from you gardeners on what to put in our patch that still has time to flourish? I like to have some flowers to cut,and we will probably have lettuce to feed our rodents. I am cos he won't let me plant any more lavender in the back (the front is full of it).

Bumperlicious · 15/04/2008 20:26

Evening all. Hope you ar all doing ok. Daisy, really sorry for your friend, how awful

Lilkel, you sound really worried, hope you make some progress soon.

I've been looking at the baby einstein DVDs with interest but can't afford to buy any. Does anyone have any they could back up and send me, or send me the DVD and DH could back it up and I could send it right back?

Today was the first day back at work that I felt a bit "meh" about being their. None of my IT works, which means that there is not much for me to do but fanny around with admin, so I look like I am doing nothing. I know no-one is judging me at this stage but it's still a bit demoralising. Plus a couple of people were a bit short with me so I was a bit wobbly.

Bumperlicious · 15/04/2008 20:31

Lilkel this thread may be worth watching

FrazzledFairyFay · 15/04/2008 20:38

Hi everyone. Lilkel, I'm sorry that you didn't get any answers. I had a quick look at that thread and I'm almost certain that Kewcumber lives near us - maybe you could suggest meeting up with her for a chat?

DKMA · 15/04/2008 20:40

Hi Bumper - sorry work was a bit for you today! I have been a bit sulky today as my new boss seems to be displaying wanker like tendancies!! I am finding myself getting a lot less stressy about stuff though - I seem to have a much bigger priority at home! .
Sounds like you can't get into the swing of it until your IT stuff gets sorted - that must be frustrating.

Hi Ria, Lilkel, Daisy etc!

Sputnik · 15/04/2008 20:45

Bumper, you have mail

justbeme · 15/04/2008 20:46

Sorry to hear that Bumper - Chase up those teccies to resolve your IT probs asap!

Ria - Ive only just planted my seeds out last week - so I hope Im not too late - but what with all the snow and that..... Last year I found spinach really easy and lettuce. Also potatoes (havent planted mine yet).
I havent really grown many flowers - or the ones that I have are the type that you dont pick. Im going to sow Lupins next month - just go and look at some seed packets and they tell you when you should plant them and if ok to plant straight into the ground or in a tray.

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 20:46

about work bumper, that's why I hate it.

Hi DKMA & FF.

I am in disgrace. When DH left me giving baggins his bottle to go to the shop baggins was nearly asleep. When DH came home 10 mins later he was stood emptying the computer desk and most certainly wide awake! DH is taking this SAHD thing too far

Bumperlicious · 15/04/2008 20:47

Thanks DKMA, yeah, I just feel a bit frustrated, especioally as I have a lot to prove, being new to the job, taking over from someone else and working part-time. How is your boss being a waker?

ooh sputnik, off to check!

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 20:49

thanks jbm. I will dig out the "Alan bible" (no Monty in my house) and give it to DH to read.

lackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2008 20:51

lilkel....I found this. As far as I can understand there is a parent/toddler group twice a month midweek, but my German is a bit rusty so not sure if it's exactly what you might want. The organisation might know more about any organised groups happening locally to you though?

Bumperlicious · 15/04/2008 20:52

Sounds fab JBM, very of your garden and veg!

Thanks sputnik

Izzybel · 15/04/2008 20:52

Hello!
Haven't caught up properly, just had a little bit of a skim read.
That's so awful about your friend on the other thread, Daisy. I couldn't even begin to imagine what her and her family are going through. Heartbreaking .
Lilkel, sorry that you are having all the worry with your ds's speech. I have no advice but hope things progress soon.

Well my mum got her results! There is NOTHING wrong with her!!! She cried with relief when they told her, as she was worried that she would have to have an operation for something. The doctor seems to think that the aspirin she was taking for phlebitus(sp?) in her leg was causing the bleeding.
Also, found out today that DP's cousin and his partner are expecting their 2nd child, in November (yep, another November baby, Daisy!) I'm sooo excited for them, anyone would think it was me that was pregnant! I'm also quite but DP won't have any of it, lol.

Sputnik · 15/04/2008 20:53

Lilkel, my DD will be 4 in July. She has always been a bit clingy, but don't know where this latest thing has come from. She has been going to nursery/preschool for 2 years no problem
It must be really tough having 2 so small, hang in there. Is your DH back?

lackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2008 20:54

gah for you with work bumper. Not exactly conducive to helping your transition is it? Keep shouting at IT. IME they deal with whoever shouts longest and hardest! emotional wobbles are horrible. Were you able to take 5 mins out?

Did you see the news from VS?

lackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2008 20:55

Good news for you mum izzybel. I bet that is a huge weight off everyone's shoulders. Will she need to avoid aspirin from now on?

Sputnik · 15/04/2008 20:56

Izzy, that's fantastic news for your Mum

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/04/2008 20:58

Ria, no gardening happened here yet, apart from DH giving the grass a haircut at the weekend. I'm hoping it's not too late yet though. From what little experience I have i kind of feel if you plant stuff early it's cold and they grow slowly, if you leave it a bit later it's warm and they grow quicker and end up not much if any behind the early ones.

Bumper, sorry work wasn't so hot for you. I'm a bit frustrated atm too - nearly everything I'm doing is waiting for comments from someone, so there's very little I can do in the meantime. I hate that. Hope somthing comes back to me by tomorrow night. I've got 4 hours work to do at home this week, and I'll be so bored if I'm stuck with reading.

Lilkel. Sorry you're not getting anywhere with the speech thing yet. Could it just be laziness if pointing at something and grunting gets it, instead of asking for it? That's what I used to do apparently. Or of course I could be talking a load of arse!

Izzybel · 15/04/2008 20:58

I'm not sure. I think so, but I think she avoids it, usually because of asthma, although I could be wrong.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/04/2008 20:59

Good grief I must have taken ages with that post, so many others posted while I was typing!

Izzy, fab news about your Mum!

DKMA · 15/04/2008 21:00

Izzy - great news!
Daisy - who is VS and what is their news?
Bumper - My new boss is just very different in management style to me! (he only cares about figures and spreadsheets and not about his people being happy etc) he's had more hr issues, formal complaints, and team dynamic issues than you can shake a shitty stick at

lackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2008 21:03

VS is VictorianSqualor, bumper and I know her from Bfing threads (including the calendar one), I know her from VBAC stuff. She had her baby today, by unelective section, after a tense "will she won't she go into labour on her own" thing. He was a big un too: 10lb 3ozs so maybe just as well!

Izzybel · 15/04/2008 21:08

Wow 10lbs 3ozs. That's a good size! Hope they are doing well DD was 8lbs 7.5 ozs, and that was big enough!
Right I'm off to bed. Sweet dreams everyone! xx
