Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

foxy, I love Queen Dolly

Glad you had a nice lunch, but at people's reaction to a family of six. Why is this country so anti-children. I think the uptight attitude towards kids in the UK is what makes kids misbehave in the first place. Mind you, we had it drummed into us about not misbehaving/running around etc by my mum who was a waitress; she sadly saw far too many scalded children in her 20 years at it . I now go bananas at DS is he tries to run around in restaurants or cafes.

sorry...didn't mean to rant

I'm bored.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 15:06

could I get any more smileys in the one post?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/04/2008 16:10

Dh & the jamlet have done their usual Sunday afternoon Waitrose trip (I had a lovely nap ) and we are now having treats. DH & I have fondant fancies and the jamlet is happy chomping on one of these

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/04/2008 16:12

she's finished it already! That's impressive for someone who doesn't have any teeth yet

foxythesnowfox · 13/04/2008 18:01

The waiting staff were lovely and welcoming to the children, but then they weren't English! (Aware I could possibly could get flamed for that)

We had afternoon tea of cake and cupcakes.

Even if I do say so myself, lovely

I think I might have a leisurely bath and a glass of wine.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 18:50

enjoy the rest of your day foxy

WE are having a bit of a time of it here....DD has whinged since they came back from their walk at 3pm. Well when I say whinged, I really mean screamed the house down . We tried a BF, a bottle feed, calpol, teething gel, bonjela, real food, cuddles, no cuddles, sitting with her, standing with her.....nothing has worked, until 15 minutes ago when I took her clothes off. She is now scuttering about on the floor in just a nappy and seems much happier......but it might be that the calpol has kicked in. She has a bit of a poorly tum and looks very pale and very tired, poor wee thing. She keeps "saying" what sounds like "geegee" over and over again, which obviously means something to her and she is getting really frustrqated that we are just not getting it!

and DS is being sent to bed early for fannying about over tea again. He seems to have lost the ability to sit straight and use his cutlery properly. It took him 45 mins to eat half of what was on his plate at teatime

I wish they would all just go away sometimes

RiaisMaLarkin · 13/04/2008 19:01

Glad your day was nice, after the thoughtless man lie-in. Your afternoon tea sounds lovely.

Our teaparty guests have just gone. I am a bit relieved because DN&N kept lifting and carrying baggins and it sets my nerves on edge (they are 10 & 7, so not old enough IMO, also neither used to babies iyswim). DS2 had a holy fit about something, DH seems to be attacking his behaviour in a big way.

Well done on the swimming jammy. I have done no exercise at all today, the washing up from the unscheduled baking having taken til my sis got here.

Am planning a couple of glasses of wine, but that's all - need a clear head for tomorrow, and watching Finding Neverland with DH. Hope it's good.

Have you seen the news about Mark Speight? Poor troubled man.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 19:10

foxy, here

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 19:15

that's very sad isn't it. I used to love the old smart episodes (the new ones just too damn noisy for my liking) and smarteenies.

andie, we have some baby ibuprofen so that will be administered pre bedtime as well.

RiaisMaLarkin · 13/04/2008 19:21

I was going to give baggins calpol mid-bottle, but he's drunk it and gone to sleep.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 13/04/2008 19:27

I cried at the news . Poor, poor man. I used to watch him on Smart when I was a young'un.

Glad you've had a lovely day foxy xxx

foxythesnowfox · 13/04/2008 19:49

Such a waste of two young lives

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 20:02

yay the littlies are in bed. peace reigns once more in the lackadaisycal house

DD wanted to feed and feed and feed tonight. It's ages since she has had a night-time BF. How long do the other babies BF for these days....I think she was just comfort sucking but I'm not sure. I'm not even sure she is getting anything these days; my boobs seem pretty empty.

RiaisMaLarkin · 13/04/2008 20:04

yay for peace and quiet.

OP posts:
RiaisMaLarkin · 13/04/2008 20:09

baggins was asleep but the other two are so darned noisy, and talk to themselves if noone else is listening

Early night for me, am shattered. I am not a natural hostess!

Have a good Monday

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 13/04/2008 20:16

I have yet to be that organised daisy, well done. My two are still up watching peppa pig (bad parenting skills alert).

Ds still has 5-10 bfs in 24 hours. Usually 3-4 in the day and 3-4 at night. He is a real milk monster. Dd, however, was probably only on about 4 feeds a day at this stage. She loves her food too much to fill up on milk!

I am trying to finish off ds's room. We have finished decorating, but now I have to put the toys and furniture back, oh and hoover. It's boring and I don't want to do it, but if I don't do it no-one else will, so off I trot. Hopefully I'll get it finished tonight, but I bet I don't.

foxythesnowfox · 13/04/2008 20:21

Daisy, perhaps she's got a tummy ache? Sucking can help that apparently.

So what are the sleeping arrangements at yours now Holly? How are things with the big boys?

We are doing the same sort of thing, 5 bfs in the day, loads

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 20:36

she has been a bit poorly in the tummy department so maybe that's it foxy.

I'm all over the place food wise. Mixed feeding is obviously not working for us, and she has made it perfectly clear that she's not ready to give up on BFing just yet....she lay on my knee earlier and tried to hoik my top up.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2008 20:38

I couldn't eat my tea tonight (made it hard to maintain the moral high ground where DS's eating is concerned) so am off to have some crunchy nut cornflakes and then go to bed.

See y'all tomorrow

foxythesnowfox · 13/04/2008 20:48

didn't finish my post ...got distracted, I said the other night I was going to put her down and leave her yada yada yada. Well, she's up now soft as shite me.

She has early am feed, breakfast, mid morning bf, lunch, pm bf, tea, bedtime bf. If she's gone to bed at her bedtime in her bed, she might go until 4am (OK, she did it once - last night!), or if she goes to bed at my bedtime she'll feed through the evening, we get into bed and feed her til she's asleep (she won't go unless the lights are off, so no lying there reading for me), then she'll be on and off every, ooh, two hours through the night if she's in bed with me, last one at about 6 or 7am. Then she can sleep til 11 or 11.30 am.

Does that help Daisy?
