So about your little beans TYG and Sky.

Now, why does L keep biting me?

AprilMeadow · 07/05/2008 03:10

Hey there lovely ladies

Welcome home TYG, we thought our flight was bad but at only 8 and a bit hours its nothing compared to yours!

Having a lovely time here at Disney... and yes we have the laptop - comes on every holiday and as we are away with out business partners we need to be able to keep an eye on everything So far have spent 2 hrs in Walmart, 1hr in a pancake house (ihop), picked up our hire cars and been to Magic Kingdom. The children are all doing really well and have pretty much adjusted to the time difference.

Today has been a good day as we completed the sale of our new house, managed to organise the builders to go in tomorrow and rip out the old kitchen and do the other bits they need to do prior to installation of the new one. Also found out that a friend of mine had her long awaited baby girl today - means i can go SHOPPING [GRIN]

MrsJB hope you are feeling better today
xx

How lovely April! On holiday and everything going smoothly at home. Yippee!

PJ - A keeps biting me as well, though I think she's usually trying to bite the fabric I'm wearing. She seems to get some sort of pleasure/ relief from biting fabric. I've started giving her a muslin to chew on in bed, or if I'm giving her a cuddle, I put one on my shoulder. I always say "NO!" if she gets my skin, but it's difficult at this age. She does it particularly when she's tired, if that's any help...

Pinkjenny · 07/05/2008 10:54

April - I am so of you! Glad you're having a wondeful time!

TYG - its so hard at this age, whenever L does something 'wrong' she pulls the cheekiest face and I end up in stitches. What an excellent disciplinarian I am.

What a gorgeous day to be stuck in the office! L is so unsettled at the mo, hoping its the teeth. Very clingy and miserable, not sleeping very much at all.

Have just gone crazy on the Next website buying her some summer stuff for nursery. Have got loads of lovely holiday things for her but they're not suitable for nursery as everything gets destroyed there, covered in food and mud and god knows what else.

Doing such a boring job is definitely not helping my online spending!

AbbyLou · 07/05/2008 18:03

Hello all, thanks for the birthday wishes for Ruby - I can't believe she is 1 tomorrow. Where has the time gone? This time last year I was sitting down to dinner and just getting my first few contractions.
Dh and I are at work all day tomorrow sowe are taking the kids out for tea and will celebrate properly at the weekend. We're hoping this weather will hold so we can have a barbie. It will be lovely if all the kids can play in the garden. We'll get the pool out and the gazebo and there won't be so much mess hopefully.

MKG · 07/05/2008 20:58

Happy Birthday's to all that I have missed. I've been feeling really terrible these past few days and haven't had much interesting to add.

TYG are in Florida??! If you want to, you can drive 12 hours north and come visit me.

You know we get a lot of UKers at work that come for the shopping vacations. I always wonder if there are MNers that I've met and didn't even know it. There should be a secret code in real life so we can identify each other. Something like "The purple cow moos at dawn"

OHH I think my illness has driven me crazy.

Pinkjenny · 08/05/2008 09:31

Happy Birthday Ruby!!!

Have a great day xx

largeginandtonic · 08/05/2008 09:58

Happy Birthday Ruby!!!!!

April i am so of your trip i may cray >

I need a holiday, i really do.

Mum2G if you are around i wont be able to come to G's birthday tome wea er not having a good week in the G&T household and i have to work on Fridays. Bugger.

MIL arriving soon to help me today as we have Phin's big appointment. I am terrified and have gone a bit wobbly and fluffy round the edges. I am not sure having exp show up to come too is helping, she was happy this morning though. They are all starting to ask questions that i cant answer. The twins are too switched on and know that it is not normal for all these appointments.

My frickin back is killing me too, i MUST go to the docs and sort out some kind of contraception too. There is too much going on! I have been on to The Education Advisory Board too, i need their help with the Appeal for ds3 that is on 23rd May.

See i do need a holiday

MKG whats up? Sick? Pregnant maybe....

Pinkjenny · 08/05/2008 10:24

Big love and hugs to LG & T today.

My beautiful dd can't wait to meet her surrogate big sister.

Am off to book flights LG & T - can you believe I am flying on my own with L for the first time! Scary stuff. Will be arriving in manner of glamorous, jet-setting friend with wriggly baby.

What a gorgeous day! Have just had word from a friend about a possible job opp, keep everything crossed for me!

Bensonbluebird · 08/05/2008 10:38

Aidan says Happy Birthday to Ruby!

A enjoyed opening his presents this morning (will post pics later). When his big bro 'gave' him his present (it was a playmobil aeroplane, I just spent a wee while putting all the tiny bits away) A climbed up on top of the box and sat there bouncing with excitement. More presents later when the boys come home from the CM.

LG&T - Good luck at the consultant, hope they are able to tell you somthing that you can explain to the DCs. Get that contraception sorted out! you really don't need more stress.

PJ - A is biting me too. I think saying 'no' and removing them from the situation is the ony thing to do (even if it doesn't seem to make any difference at the time).

largeginandtonic · 08/05/2008 10:49

Oh goodness HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Aiden too!

Pink is

'Flying on a jet plane, commin to see me'

Wahoo! She is staying for 3 years like SOH.

Hmmmmm must meal plan, what do you/dont you eat? SOH and H eat everything apart from hot curry >

[excited emoticon]

Pinkjenny · 08/05/2008 11:20

Happy Birthday to Aidan! Can't wait to see the pics!

LG & T - I don't like curry either, or peas and I'm allergic to prawns. Other than that, I eat anything!

MKG · 08/05/2008 13:33

Happy Birthday to Aidan and Ruby Yeah!

No Lg&T am not preggers (I wish) I just have a really bad period. They never used to be like this. Must be hormonal changes after Cruz. For the past two days I've been sweaty, massive headache, muscle pain. But today am back to normal self . . . almost. There is just a lot going on right now.

Last night I didn't feel good so I fell asleep on the couch. Well at 3am I feel someone crawling on me. Mateo got out of bed came downstairs in the dark, and decided to snuggle with me on the couch. I brought upstairs to my bed and we got to snuggle. That little man is so adorable.

Pebblemum · 08/05/2008 23:15

charleymouse · 08/05/2008 23:34

Happy birthday to Ruby, Aidan and Samuel, glad A is enjoying his presents BBB.
Hope you get some questions answered at the consultants LGT. You can always come and holiday up norf if you need a a change of scenery. Not very glamorous around here but you're welcome to come stay.
Sorry you have been feelng crappy MKG - did you get your blow up dolls?
PJ I can not believe the state DDs clothes are when she comes home from nursery, I try to get them clean and think oh well these will be alright for nursery clothes then I feel bad for sending her out in clean but stained clothes so another lot gets ruined. At least now the weather has improved it is easier to get her clean than her clothes.
Sky and 12YG glad to here your bumps are coming along nicely. Glad you had a nice hol 12YG do you have oics yet?
Mrs JB Happy Armistice day hope you have had a nice day.
Ooh of your disney trip April, glad you are having a good time. Think DD will love it we plan to go in the next couple of years.
Abby we are in the NT as well we should have a mini meetup as we are not that far away are we. Think SKY is somewhere in the middle as well if we could get co-ordinated we could p'raps find a midpoint NT site.
Hope you had a nice day at the farm ED.
Hi SOH and Scoot hope you are all well. Do you have any plans for b'day celebrations SOH and Cam?
Have been putting together flat pack furniture today for DDs bedroom, nightmare, none of the pieces were labelled so had to just guess most of it; not even finished yet back to it tomorrow ho hum.
Take care love CM

charleymouse · 08/05/2008 23:38

Hello PM glad you re back, I hate being without the internet. I have just sorted out moving with BT yesterday and apparently we can not have broadband connected until 7 days after we have it disconnected from our current address.
Can not see any logical reason for this and offered to continue current line rental until BB was connected in new house and was told it can not be done until after 7 days so have requested new line in asap. Quite why I do not know oh well a jobsworth somewhere must decree this is how it must be done.

twelveyeargap · 09/05/2008 08:09

Good luck today LG&T. You're handling it all so well. You really are a superwoman.

Hey Charley - I asked BT about that before. Apparently it's because BT actually re-sell a service from a "wholesale" broadband provider. Once you cancel the contract at your current address, they then need to cancel with their supplier and since you sign up for a year at a time, I think BT then cover a "penalty" charge for cancelling the contract at that address and you get set up on a brand new contract at the new address. BT understand that you are the same customer, but their supplier do not, because they supply per address, not per person. If they provided the service directly, then it would move just like your phone line does.

I've never bought on ebay before, can you believe it? I've been buying sample size things to make up party bags for S's "pamper party". I don't normally go overboard for her parties, but since it's her 13th, I thought I'd give her a treat. I must get on and sell some stuff now. LG&T - which courier did you use to send the P&T to Scoot? Am going to get the Mountain Buggy sold at least. I'm going to buy one of these.

A is finally standing alone and thinking about taking steps, but chickens out at the last minute.

Happy birthday to Callum, Ruby, Aidan, Samuel, Conor and Mathilda and Jasper! Have I missed anyone for this week? Hope not!

ShowOfHands · 09/05/2008 09:22

The Tank is walking.

Not here, just nipped into the study to retrieve errant child...

Be back anon...

Pinkjenny · 09/05/2008 09:22

Happy Birthday Conor!

Pinkjenny · 09/05/2008 09:23

X post - don't be showing off with your walking children whilst my clicky hipper is still like Bambi!

Seriously, SOH, that's fab - can't wait to meet her! Oh, and you. But less so.

cameroonmama · 09/05/2008 10:06

Jasper is walking too!

Happy Birthday to Connor, and Ruby, Aidan and Samuel for yesterday...

Just off on school run, will be back later.

AprilMeadow · 09/05/2008 12:44

LG&T how did P's appt go? Have been thinking about you x

Can i add Ella to the 'walkers' list I think she has dont about 10 steps in a row and is very proud of herself.

Have spent the last few days on the phone to my mum (costing £1/minute) trying to sort a few issues with the new house - the water tank is leaking and have had 3 people out to look at it. First 2 said 'new tank' and the 3rd (dad of dh's brother) said 'nah, just 3 valves and some other thing' total £150. So think we will go with that option

Bought Ella a minnie mouse outfit the other day and she looks so cute - will put a pic on profile.

Hope you are all well xx

Hi everybody

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY to:

Callum
Ruby
Aidan
Samuel
Conor
Mathilda for tomorrow
and Jasper for Sunday

Just in case I'm not on over the weekend!

Had a fab time in York for my 21st last weekend, loved York - very pretty! Would recommend any time, loads to do and great bars and pubs Got lots of lovely things, including two gorgeous rings!

Now looking forward to Charlotte's Birthday, more so than I was for mine! She has so much stuff already, I really need to learn to say enough is enough, but it is her first Birthday lol!

TYG how have you never been on ebay! I love it, slightly too much. Have already bought this and one of these these morning I shop too much. Glad to hear you had a great time in Australia, don't fancy the idea of flying for that long with C - brave woman!

AM good to hear you're having fun in Disney land, yay for the house etc going smoothly!

LG&T hope everything went ok with Phin's appt. Thinking of you

SOH and CAM, woohoo for walking babies! C took her first steps at 10 months and hasn't stopped since. It was cute until things started to get smashed and hidden. Now our living room looks upside down because eveything's been moved out of her reach!

Have had amazing weather the past couple of days, took C down to the loch for a picnic on Wdnesday which was great fun. Then yesterday went for a walk into town, sporting slighty pink shoulders today - numpty! It's cloudy today though.

Was very naughty and rung up mamas and papas on Wednesday to complain that C had fallen out her pushchair as the harness is crap. She didn't, but she was close to it - escape artist that she is. Free bumper bar to match the pram arrived today with a free raincover as mine is bust. Love mamas and papas. Went into a store the other week as I'd jammed the apron zip - my fault, and got a new one delivered 2 days later. Nothing wrong with the first, just jammed the zip which the woman in the store fixed. She was going to send me out a new seat unit, thought that was a bit ott so just said a new apron was fine lol! At the rate I'm going I'll have a new pram in a month! Cheeky, moi?

C awake now so had better go feed her. Think I'll also jump in the shower as I'm still in pj's and take her for a walk.

Hope all are well x

Pinkjenny · 09/05/2008 13:05

OMG April - that picture! Send me a Minnie outfit immediately.

Pinkjenny · 09/05/2008 13:34

L has been called for a Hip and Men C booster. This is separate from MMR - yes?
