BT our dd is getting sleepy earlier and earlier too - sadly it just means she is having another feed around 9 or 10pm! But it's bath at 6ish here now and it has affected what time she gets up in the morning (still too bloody early!)

BouncingTurtle · 13/05/2008 05:23

He woke at 9:45 for a feed, then 1am and 3am. He then woke up at 4:50 and did a big poo! Wouldn't go back to sleep, didn't seem hungry but does look sleepy so is now lying quietly in his bouncy chair, am hoping he may sleep for a bit.

suey2 · 13/05/2008 07:19

good god, BT, you must be shattered.

BouncingTurtle · 13/05/2008 07:39

No, wide awake, just put second load of washing on.
More cold gloomy weather again... ffs
Got practically all my nappies and wipes in the wash too...

suey2 · 13/05/2008 07:46

millie has brikoen her good run, but i only had to go to her at 3am last night and 4am the previous night so feel pretty lucky- and only because she was coughing and got upset.

Back at work now today first full day had to be super organised. Have expressed after her first feed, washed and sterilised and packed expressing equipment. Phew! what a palaver.

fifisworld · 13/05/2008 08:27

Sorry about your lack of sleep BT ...

suey - Are you back to work full time?

I contacted work a few weeks ago to let them know what hours i could work but they haven't got back to me yet. Im not due back until October but was planning on going back earlier as im skint.

Im also not happy at this weather, last weeks we were in the garden almost everyday with the ds's but its horrible today, and i've got loads to do so it looks like we are all stuck in the house today

cazzybabs · 13/05/2008 09:40

I posted yesterday and it didn't work...humm

Caz-I didn't get the job but ney ho. Less work I guess so more time with the lovely dds. I am going back on the 2nd of July.

Suey - good luck.

Evie woke up at 3 for a feed and then woke herself up coughing at 5am (and us). I must get better at putting her back in her cot as she tends to end up in oru bed and dh gets cross.

claireybee · 13/05/2008 13:41

Blimey Suey that is organisation!

BT poor you, hope you have some rest today. Ds was better last night-woke at 10.30, 1, 3 and 5.45. Then woke at 6.45 for day.

I have to say wearing him on my back is brilliant for the daytime sleeps-I just tie him on when he gets grumpy and he goes off-much better than having to bounce and rock him off in my arms! Also means he isn't in my way when I want to do other things although sadly I cannot recline on the sofa!

DD has decided she doesn't want nappies anynore so am spending rather a lot of the time cleaning wee off the carpet-grr!

BouncingTurtle · 13/05/2008 14:03

Hello everyone, have just returned from a lovely picnic, weather still crap though sun did come out a few times. Good turn out - it was in aid of National Breastfeeding Week and attended by our local radio station.
Ds whinged a bit, still teething poor little mite. Is now zonked out in his car seat!

suey2 · 13/05/2008 15:14

hey fifi, no 3 days a week m tu w, but on m and w i should be able to work from home in the afternoon

BouncingTurtle · 14/05/2008 10:52

Seems very quiet on here lately!
Ds went to be at 7.15, woke up at 9.15 because of leaky nappy, but we managed to settle him back to sleep without a feed. He then woke up at 10.40 for a feed, then at 1am, then at 3am to do a poo but only took a little feed. He then woke up at 5am, but after I fed him I put him bed with me and dh and I slept to about 7am, and ds woke up another 15 mins later. Much better methinks!
Took him out for a long walk in the pushchair in the hopes he would nap as he looked sleepy after his feed. But he didn't fall asleep until we were most of the way back, and so has only had about 30 mins at the most. After a nice wakey up cuddle he decided he wanted to play!
I don't think he is eating enough during the day because he wants to be doing other things. He is now playing under his baby gym and watching In the Night Garden!

fifisworld · 14/05/2008 11:16

It is really quiet on here isn't it!!

I had a nightmare day yesterday with ds1, he was just so naughty all day..i was pulling my hair out!!
Ethan seemed to want feeding/changing at the same time at DS1, they both cried at the same time, ds1 kept waking Ethan up..it was just manic.

I really feel for you that are suffering lack of sleep..dont think i should post this but we used to put Ethan down about 9pm but the past week he's been going about 7.30 ish and sleeping until 6, quick feed and change then normally back off until about 8.30
I must say he's definatley been better since starting solids, normally he would go from 9-4 without wanting a feed but is doing so much better now.

macdoodle · 14/05/2008 12:12

Hmm thats interesting fifi - Lily who has previously been excellent sleep througher - has taken to waking FREQUENTLY at night evry 2 hrs or so - last night she even managed to latch onto my cheek in desperation as I carried her into my bed - she seems genuinely hungry and seems to feed loads with gulping and slurping ....am still ex BF - she is 20 weeks on Fri and am wondering if she is ready for solids or is this a growth spurt - my god she is a tubs already - and is so fat that not entirely happy sitting up

Caz10 · 14/05/2008 12:58

hi all!

macdoodle my dd is 22 weeks now and has been just like that for the past few weeks...exhausting....! But as you say, it's genuine hunger...

also BT I agree, the feeds during the day are a bit rubbish, she is too busy playing and looking around!

claireybee · 14/05/2008 15:12

It's very quiet isn't it? Our numbers seem to be dwindling

Macdoodle ds is 22 weeks and although he's never been a good sleeper recently he has been worse and taking massive feeds in the night -the good news is with all the milk I now have big boobs again!

Think also body has adjusted to lack of sleep-last week i felt knackered but this week I feel fine!

suey2 · 14/05/2008 16:37

LOL macdoodle.
We've been signed off by the health visitor. Millie is not the 90th centile she started at, more like about 60, but then she was 2 weeks late. Her feeding has stabilised since the week that was her 16 week growth spurt. It is quite interesting that now she is being fed by bottle when i am at work, what i have noticed when she BFs is the same when she bottle feeds: ie, not so hungry in the morning, but eats very quickly at the 2pm feed. I keep giving her little tastes of things to get her used to the idea and she is getting very interested in watching us eat. It is SO funny to see her reach out for my glass with both hands, but not have the coordination to put the glass to her lips and tilt the right amount. Water, water everywhere! She likes sucking on a bit of mango, but i am not yet letting her try and swallow any of it.

looking forward to the next bit!

lesleyella · 14/05/2008 17:09

Hello everyone, can I join in. My dd is 21
weeks today. Currently asleep in her cot despite the fact that our loft is being converted and there is crashing and banging above her head ... if only she slept this well at night!!!

Caz10 · 14/05/2008 17:40

hi lesleyella! is your dd called ella? great name

clairey my boobs have gone big too, i was so pleased - then realised that combined with my maternity leave belly, it means i don't fit back into my work clothes at ALL! aaargh!!!

lesleyella · 14/05/2008 18:12

She is indeed called Ella ... thank you! And she is delicious (most of the time...)

Caz10 · 14/05/2008 19:25

i have a vested interest you see - mine is Ella too!

Caz10 · 14/05/2008 19:28

Oh cazzy, just reading back, so sorry re the job, hope you're ok about it. everything happens for a reason!

(i hate people that say that ha ha! )

cazzybabs · 14/05/2008 20:36

no not that gutted about the job.

Evie has been sitting up in the pushchair today. Carrycot gone away . She loved it - looking and smiling at everyone.

Caz10 · 14/05/2008 20:47

we've done that too, makes them seem v grown up doesn't it?! but she is happier to be awake in the pram, phew

lesleyella · 14/05/2008 21:05

Aha, another December Ella! Mine is also in a pushchair as she HATED her pram (glad I spent lots of money on that!). Took a while but the last few days she has just sat and laughed as I pushed her round the supermarket ... not quite sure what is so funny!

suey2 · 15/05/2008 08:40

hi lesleyella
My LO hated the pram after about 3 months! Had to put her in the car seat on the base until she was big enough for the seat.
