Oh Bumper that horse thing is fab.
Foxy, the second one, but that's just my opinion

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 20:15

dkma....seeing it written down is making it seem too real. I had a huge meltdown before teatime as the DCs were playing up; DS was in his usual Friday strop, and everytime I tried to change DD she was twisting herself off my lap and nearly landed on the floor. Then I realised I'd forgotten to go to the shops and post office, so just stomped out the house as no-one would tell me what they wanted for tea. I came back an hour later with curry for me and DH and fish and chips for the DCs....I just needed an hour.

I keep on going through all the worst case scenarios I have at the moment with DS and DD, and thinking of another one added to it......and my head starts to explode. So, a state of blissful denial is where I've decided I need to be to get through the next eight months!

Well done foxcub and babyfairy . They really aren't babies anymore are they? . Great fun though

Fury, if I haven't missed youo; have a good weekend and I hope it all goes well.

Bumper I did see your name change earlier....nice one

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 29/02/2008 20:15

TBH any day when I'm due a present gets my vote

annobal · 29/02/2008 20:18

Knocked up good so far. Fury, I really want to see Juno too - let's do a Leicester Sq thing.
BUmper, I love the Karen Carpenter Story (also have all their songs on ipod).

Sputnik - i love scratch dinners - my dessert is raisins and cashews and I've just found some M&S choc biscuits...see y'all later

Sputnik · 29/02/2008 20:20

Aw Daisy, you have had a tough week. Glad you got an hour to "reset" even if you had to flounce out to get it! You will cope, you are a fab mother

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 20:28

Sputnik.

I'm bored this evening. DH has abandoned me for the delights of a cold dark garage with an eight pack of beer and one of his mates.

His interview went OK, but the hours are horrible. 8:15am to 6pm, and NO flexible working. 20 days holiday, he has to work all the public holidays but can get time off in lieu for them. If he takes a bank holiday though it comes out of his holiday entitelment. He would also have to bank five days in the first year, so effectively only three weeks holiday. Money less than he is on at the moment, so with the increase in hours, he would actually be about £7K worse off. And, as he would be out the door before the kids were up and home just in time for bedtime if lucky, we would see him much less than we do now!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 20:29

Daisy, glad you are ok. I can see why you would want to be by yourself for a bit {{{hugs}}}.

Hey dkma, hope you are well.

Foxy??? Are you here? What you doin tues?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 20:31

God daisy, that job sounds awful! I used to do those sorts of hours and it was a killer.

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 29/02/2008 20:35

Hi DKMA btw! How's work going for you?

Daisy, would he save money by not travelling though? And does he have to pay for his flat where he is in the week? What are the benefits of the job? You will be great btw, think of your lovely family. The first few months will be tough, but we are all here for you.

Actually, I don't know if you have seen a poster on here called Largeginandtonic (actually her thread is here) but I looked at her profile, she has 6 kids and is TTC and for the 1st time I thought how lovely to have a big family (her DCs are beautiful!). That is v unlike me!

Annobal, glad I am not the only Carpenters saddo !

Sputnik · 29/02/2008 20:37

Shame about that job. You are going to need him around!

Just got a text from my DH complaining he couldn't ring me as I'm on Nunsnet . That's Nokia predictive text for you. Just nobody tell him about the blow job thread.....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 20:37

Roffle at Nunsnet! Not quite!

foxythesnowman · 29/02/2008 20:43

I've got an 11.45 nursery pick up to do. why??

Daisy, that is a symptom of going from 1 - 2. Don't envisage putting a 3rd into that situation because its a different kettle of fish. Yes, you will still have crap tea-times, but you'll give less of a shit because you've lost the will to fight, would have surrendered to being outnumbered and you will be able to have a large glass of wine.

Seriously, things change. Don't worry - there is no point.

DH's new potential job sounds crappy. Does he want it? Sounds a bit pointless, means you'll have to cook every night when you could be sat at home having porridge for tea

Sputnik · 29/02/2008 20:45

Hang on, just let me go and get my wimple....

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 20:47

bumper, he'd save about £1.5K by not travelling. He lives rent free at the moment, so all he has to pay for is his day to day expenses. The woman who interviewed him was very apologetic about the holidays and hours though, so they obviously realise it is an issue. I think that the supermarket in question is a bit dickensian in all areas, but they are trying to modernise to compete with the big three. The current MD is apparently retiring soon and changes are in the pipeline, so maybe it would only be for a bit.

And at least if anything happened and he needed to get home, he'd be half an hour away instead of three. We'll see what happens and whether they offer him the job. I could go out to work in the evenings as well if he was home every night which would help.

foxythesnowman · 29/02/2008 20:47

PMSL at Nunsnet LOLOLOLOL

foxythesnowman · 29/02/2008 20:50

Any chance he could change his hours where he is now? What are his hours now?

milkyJammy · 29/02/2008 20:55

Hugs Daisy. Glad you got out for a bit. Sorry about the hours etc with DHs potential new job. Hope something good works out for you both.

I love the Carpenters too, but alas haven't seen the KC Story

SisterSputnik · 29/02/2008 20:57

If they offer him the job maybe he could negotiate a bit?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 20:59

Amen sister!

I was wondering if you fancied an Ikea meet up foxy.

milkyJammy · 29/02/2008 21:01

I am stuffed! We shared spare ribs, sweet & sour prawn balls, sea spice pork & rice. I can't even manage the wine I bought at the moment

OP posts:
SisterSputnik · 29/02/2008 21:01

This is where I should make some witty remark about filthy habits, or something.

foxythesnowman · 29/02/2008 21:02

Can you do another day? Monday, Weds or Fri?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 21:03
Grin
milkyJammy · 29/02/2008 21:03

Now now Sputnik, we'll have nun of that!

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/02/2008 21:04

We were going to do tues as dp has to go to a school thing for one of his boys, so we'd sort of be in the area.

Not to worry, it would have been nice to see you though .
