He continued to be a grizzly baby . D was happy in the buggy on the way there and home, but was quite grizzly when we were there, not the only one who was but I was a bit sad about it on our last day.

Aaarrrrgggh Caz, that must be frustrating. Is the amount that's not there enough to make it worth complaining to Customer Services? I don't do it normally with Sainsburys Online but once did successfully when they missed out a lot of stuff and they brought it round next day.

NorthernLurker · 25/02/2008 20:09

That's a shame Elkie - maybe you can take a Monday off fairly soon and go with him then?

Caz - lets hope it turns up - definately ask for your delivery charge back!

oooggs - that comment would wind me up too - it's like they're saying serves you right - but she wasn't even on the scene then so errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm - no idea!

SOL - 5 short weeks sounds good anyway. Regarding the whole work thing - don't try to sor out the whole of your life as a working parent right now. The job you have now is not for life. You can let bits go, look for something else , take on more interesting stuff as and when. The children you have are for life - and that means you have a long time to do stuff with them too, nothing is stuck or lost or unrecoverable. You are playing a long game here. Really - as a wohm you can have it all ways - but not at one and the same time You will get past this point! Here have a {{{hug}}}

HALOOOOOOOOOOO.Sorry so many are poorly and not sleeping. It's the same hereI am leving M with a friend tomorrow whilst ds1 and I take the 3 dogs to the vets for boosters and kennel cough vaccines...and new collars and name tags. Then they go to kennels on sun before we go to Dublin.Wish me luck.Oh and ds1 wants to go to the golf shop he has become obsessed by it!and even watches it on telly.IMO Worse than cricketStill maybe he will get really good and become hugely rich[no pressure]There are enough blinkin golf courses over here. AND he wants to learn the drums! My dad is a drummer so I blame him
I haven't left Milo with anyone other than dp before.Prob do him good.Hope we all get some sleep tonight and people/babies start feeling better soon.

StealthPolarBear · 25/02/2008 20:33

Sexonlegs · 25/02/2008 20:38

SPB, that wasn't a major whinge!
Hope T settles for yu you poor love. Not sure if you do hugs, but you sound like you need one.

NL, thank you for your wise words. You really are fabulous

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 20:57

hey all
adding myself to the list of those far too absent of late
haven't caught up on much but eddas - will text Dippy in case you haven't got hold of her (although I did see she'd popped in since)
Pesha did leave the cup here, and dp's shoes, and her deodourant, and the baby wipes, and D's toy, in fact, did you take anything home with you
and if you're gonna talk about the man make it polite, he's still here

we're all well, J playing up at night again and M's dad didn't stick to our routine when he had him all weekend so he's not being great, but hey ho, we'll get back on track.

I have yet another Social worker, as nothing had been done and I had housing on at me, rang to chase it up with SW to be told she'd left . So much for getting me some much needed help, as expected they came in, turned my life upside down, promised the earth, then buggered off leaving me to do it all myself yet again

hoping everyone is well here, will try really hard to catch up and do a HUGE catch up post at start of next thread

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 21:19

OP posts:
Pesha · 25/02/2008 21:25

So is he still on the sofa or has he found someonething more comfortable to sleep on?!

Sexonlegs · 25/02/2008 21:27

Oooh Ellie, I have missed the gossip whilst wallowing in self pity. Details....

elkiedee · 25/02/2008 21:30

Sorry to hear about your problems with the local Council POTC, both housing and social services.

Pesha · 25/02/2008 21:39

Lol how sol and I have both completely bypassed the important housing/social worker issues and gone straight for the man gossip!!

NorthernLurker · 25/02/2008 21:46

Tsk tsk ladies - concentrate on what's important!

Ellie we demand would like more info!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 22:06

firstly, NL, I was to see you are only 30 too

yes he is still on the sofa, currently sat next to me watching dvd while I'm on here so pleeeeease don't say anything you shouldn't

Pesha was here for the weekend, we went out on Friday night and got sloshed, then saturday night we stayed in and they watched dvds while I slept

Then on sunday I spent my afternoon at A&E as Simon had hurt his foot at football on saturdaym, then he was signed off work and I was expecting M to be dreadful this morning, so he came back here and stayed so he could have M for me this morning. (I must point out he is someone I have known for over 10 years so I'm not leaving my son with a complete stranger!). I came home from work today and promptly slept all afternoon and he couldn't be bothered to go home and I couldn't be bothered to drive him there so he's still here!

NorthernLurker · 25/02/2008 22:09

(waves in non-scary, non mad way to sofa bloke)

NorthernLurker · 25/02/2008 22:12

I'm getting a bit worried about the age thing tbh - you are all too nice to say so but I think I must type in an aged fashion.......

right bath then I'm watching ER (and eating M&S pancakes with apple and toffe sauce - yum)

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 22:19

sorry NL I think you do just a little bit though but I must admit, I thought the same about Dippy at first, am ashamed to say I sort of assume it from anyone that goes to church

OP posts:
runnyhabbit · 25/02/2008 22:23

Hello all

Feeling a bit out of it tonight...a bit spaced out iykwim....not sure what it is, so you'll have to excuse any ramblings

J was very poorly last night He had thrown up, then came into our bedroom where he promptly threw up again, on dh. He's dozed on and off for most of the day, and has only eaten a slice of toast. But he has been drinking lots though.
On the plus side, we;ve had 2 completely dry days

First day at work wasn't too bad. They all seem friendly enough. Except when I made everyone a coffee, I used the percolator stuff The best bit though, is that my journey time has been cut in half!

Really feeling crap now...please do not let me be coming down with something...I can't possibly be ill, I'm a mum!

Pesha · 25/02/2008 22:28

Lol! NL I too would have thought you were older but only because I'm nearly 30 and you seem so much more grown up than me!! I think because I still feel like I'm in my early 20s anyone who actually acts my age I assume must be older than me iyswim rather than realising that I just still act like an irresponsible buffoon!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 22:29

too true my love, too true

OP posts:
Pesha · 25/02/2008 22:30

RH - I hope it passes and you feel better soon. Glad first day at work went well

Ellie - have you watched knocked up yet? It was very funny!!

Now laydees - what do you want to know about Ellie's man???

runnyhabbit · 25/02/2008 22:30

A bit of advice/suggestions please...
Got to complete a form requesting our choice of school for J Sept. The school we would really like him to attend is just out of catchment area, although plenty of children in our village attend. It teaches Welsh as a first language, and has outstanding Estyn reports (Welsh eqiv to Ofsted)
The Welsh school that is in our catchment area is actually further away, and hasn't had great reports to say the least.
Anyway, on the form it has a space where you can (although don't have to) write why we want J to attend our first choice. I don't want sound like I'm sucking up (the form gets returned to your prefered school) but I don't want to leave it blank.
What do you think?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 22:34

RH I think you should focus on it being a school that lots of others from your village attend, as that is a huge plus point for a small child attending school, having school friends nearby makes it much easier.

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 25/02/2008 22:35

You see this is what happens when you have your first baby at 21 - you age more quickly than other women. POTC - watch out this fate awaits you

Runny - I'm thinking but must go soak my aged bones in the bath - back later. I would definately put something about you wanting ds to attend school with the children he has grown up alongside and have the opportunity to learn his native language in a supportive and nurturing environment etc.

It's the etc that's the trouble isn't it

Right - bath!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 25/02/2008 22:36

Pesha - BEHAVE
he's now quite worried that we are still talking about him!
