Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

Not me BP - deadline tomorrow. DD waking every hour - poorly - me panicking about essay, not a good combination. Be back at some ungodly hour to catch up!

jabberwocky · 01/05/2008 00:44

OMG, I got an email from my nephew's wife saying she has her 2 week old on a feeding schedule of every 3 hours in the day and 4 hours at night! Not sure whether to be or

Indith · 01/05/2008 12:03

My god Jabber I didn't know babies like that existed!

And yes I have been studying. Currently in library waiting for essay to print so I can go hand it in! Think the library printer is caving under the pressure

Surfacing after another week of interesting maladies....poor dh had a throat full of ulcers and ended up on Tramadol, unable to swallow or speak; dd2 had high fevers for four nights, was put on ABs which did nothing (must have been viral this time, but its sooo hard to tell with her). Been a bit busy, being the Well One, thank god for dd1 who has been fine in spite of her class dropping like flies with CP....

I'm v tired but strangely ok

Calm, I did speed read missed posts and am sorry your LO went through all that....and you, too, how scary! Hope Amberli is ok again now?

As for the wilful ones, I totally relate - sociable, bright, frustrated as anything (she wants to talk and walk sooo badly, doing ok on the talking but not so good on the walking) pity we can't put them all in a room together every morning, where they could empty cupboards together and complain about us

Elibean · 01/05/2008 12:49

Proplus.....blimey...that takes me back, are they still around?!

Elibean · 01/05/2008 12:51

Jabber, dd shouts to get my/dh's attention, then picks up a piece of food and very very slowly, deliberately, drops it over the edge of highchair. Then she pulls her mouth down, peers up at us with a disapproving face and says 'uuuh oooooh'.

I'm getting better at not laughing, but...I did lol at your ds's smoothie, so not quite there yet...

LenniEd · 01/05/2008 21:26

Thanks Indith.

Am just pricing up all my baby equipment for the NCT nearly new sale on Saturday... now if that doesn't guarantee I'm pg this month then nothing will.

LOL at all the wilful tots... similar here. Cupboard locks being applied as we speak. Or at least DH trying his best. Lots of swearing coming from kitchen so that's a good sign progress is being made.

Sorry to hear yours have been struck down again Eli. and at Tramadol... must have been bad, poor thing, I take that when my arthritis is extra bad.

Right, onto next essay... whirlwind continues. DH VAT return due Monday... it never rains...

GodzillasPimplyBumcheek · 01/05/2008 21:57

AQ - waddling I remember two tinies waddling after me when they learned to walk...like little duckies

Elibean - DH gets ulcers too, often in throat or on tonsil, has been told there's no cause so there's no cure, sh*tty isn't it?

DD3 has been tantrumming for a while...she goes floppy in protest, or headbutts things (and then needs cuddles better).

Saying that, she nutted the concrete ground in the garden today...i think the ant she was looking at got a bit too interesting! OUCH

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 07:11

Eli - Mine does the same with food! Thinks she is very clever

DD looks more like a penguin than a duck as her little arms flap, especially when she is running.

Babystep 19 - read some of these to get motivated. By now you should have a morning and evening routine which includes getting clothes ready and shining sink. You should be doing 5 minute hotspots and kelly's mission every day and you should set a timer for 15 mins when doing housework and then stop and have a up of tea after all that hard work

babypowder · 02/05/2008 12:05

Your poor DH, Eli - esp having to take tramadol (oh, how I hate that stuff)

I was away yesterday, and I came home at 8:00 to find DD2 asleep (with dummy in her mouth ), and DD1 overjoyed with Daddy as he had been playing card games and singing silly songs for her. I shall go away more often, as they clearly don't need me anymore

DD2 still not walking ...

jabberwocky · 02/05/2008 18:45

eww, throat ulcers. That sounds sooo painful!

eli, ds2 also does the deliberate uh-oh! It's pretty cute but I'm trying not to encourage him by laughing

More moving craziness going on. Did I mention we're throwing a party on Sunday Our last cinco de mayo party here so we felt that we just had to do it. Oh, and showing the house on Monday so send up house selling vibes please

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 18:54

Party sounds fun Jabber.

So, tell me your stories about chicken pox? DD1 has about 7 spots on face, neck and chest which have appeared since lunchtime and which look like red bites really. No blisters. She was very tired yesterday and also had an emotional outburst when I dropped her at pre-school.

LenniEd · 02/05/2008 20:14

No Chicken Pox stories to tell I'm afraid FGS but I've lost my way with flylady... what is Kelly's mission? I think I must have missed that part.

DD walked on our daily dog walk yesterday and today. She does one of a few routes everyday on my back, but yesterday and today has walked herself (some of it at least!) going 'Oooooooo, Oooooooo' the whole way, as if she had never seen any of it before! So cute. I would quite happily have her this age forever!

I've just fell down a drain whilst mowing the garden!! Big bruised and battered hip to show for it! DH in stitches laughing. Me up to my ankles in poo (drain goes to septic tank)...

Have fun Jabber... I love a good party. None in the pipeline at present after a rush of them in the last year with weddings and special birthdays. Hoping my sister might get preggers or my brother get engaged this year so we can have another party to celebrate! My house selling vibes are rubbish, total of 18 months to sell our last 2 houses. Don't think you'll want my vibes.

accessorizequeen · 02/05/2008 20:15

Could be, fgs, could be. They start appearing v.fast if so, and blister up quickly too from memory. Don't remember ds1 being remotely upset by it though. Affects them worse the older I get though, I think. He was only one.
Too knackered to catch up more tonight, sorry! Trying to buy some more supportive shoes online as legs & hips aching after walk this morning, I am 8/9 so difficult to find in this neck of the woods!

Elibean · 03/05/2008 11:59

Ouch, Lennied, hope you're ok!

Am surrounded by poxy ones at pre-school and neighbours etc....am checking for spots at every whinge, sniffle and grump, but nothing so far. Good luck FGS, no stories as yet, but may be joining you...in fact, am wondering if I should take the dds to visit neighbour's ds, who has CP, as GP says catching it from a sibling is usually more intense: more exposure to viral shedding, I suppose. Would hate dd2 to catch it from dd1, if dd1 catches it from pre-school. Then again, if I do taht and they have it and suffer I will feel dreadful....aaargh....what do you reckon?

DH fully recovered, thank you for all tramadol and ulcer sympathy, I passed it all on and he feels less unique now.

Jabber, party sounds fun - I know how much work it can all be before hand, but great opportunity to say goodbye!

I saw Gynae this morning for pre-op appointment, and he was so traumatized at the idea of having a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old at my age (he's pretty much my age and his kids are about 4 years older, ie out of the sleep deprivation stage) that he ballsed up what he was saying on the dictaphone and had to start again. Not sure whether to , , or ...may as well , I suppose!

Elibean · 03/05/2008 11:59

Forgot...sell vibes to Jabber, and rest/good shoes vibes to AQ...

Elibean · 03/05/2008 12:00

BP, dd2 not walking either - though can manage a one-handed stagger now. Oh, and she's discovered climbing

Indith · 03/05/2008 12:53

Did DS not read the reminder about how important it is to be well rested for exams?

DS still not walking either though very good with a single finger. Still not standing unaided either so I think it will be a while still! I did have to rescue him the other day though from dangling off the top shelf of the bookcase which he had managed to reach by climbing on top of his sit on truck, which then rolled off......

Hope you are feeling less tired AQ, and that Lennied has passed all lawn mowing over to the man of the house due to high risk of injury, that Jabber has had a good party and wowed people with her house, that the Slippers do not have the pox and that everyone else is all fine and dandy.

Me? Shattered and at serious risk of loosing all remaining brain capacity before exams even start (Tuesday), drinking way too much apple and blackcurrant squash and eating pasta at odd times of the day

DS? Not sleeping, nose snotty today which probably explains it Have been attempting to be less liberal with the calpol etc, clearly a bad idea Well, when ds had a lovely long period of sleeping 13 hours a night we knew that if he woke there was something wrong so thought nothing of giving calpol but dp has been very slow to get out of the habit now that he is waking frequently again. I keep sleepily realising that he is giving him something too late to stop him, and when asked why he gave it he doesn't know . Usually medised too and I do not like using it unless he actually has a need for it rather than calpol. Tis just so easy to reach out for calpol though at 3am when you've had no sleep

Sending good rest vibes to AQ and Indith!

Party is tomorrow at 4:00, house is almost ready, have to do my "hot spots" (no, not doing Fly Lady but thought I would throw in the lingo ) and go shopping for brats, buns, etc.

The movie people are supposed to be filming at the house across the street tomorrow! Wonder if Robby likes hot dogs....

eli, dh and I had our ongoing argument discussion about how the kids wear him out all the time so I can well imagine the conversation with your gyn!

Have had two great-sounding applicants respond to my ad for a nanny so things are looking up for childcare after the move. On the other hand I ordered a new cell phone specifically to get a local number to start giving out and they assigned one that is local to another part of the state! Spent 40 minutes trying to get it straightened out last night only to finally be told I would have to call back on Monday. grrrrr
So goes the joys of moving!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 03/05/2008 14:24

It is chicken pox. She's covered in spots now but being very brave. It is in her bits and even on her eyelid (ouch).

jabberwocky · 03/05/2008 15:00

Poor dd!! We never see it around here anymore b/c all the kids have to get vaxed. I'm hoping the dcs don't wind up having it as adults when/if the vax wears off. That would be much worse than getting it now.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 03/05/2008 16:18

It is worse as an adult jabber, although I cant see what could be worse atm as DD is crying from the soreness/itchiness of the spots

jabberwocky · 03/05/2008 17:58

Yep, I have visions of the dcs now being doomed to cp boosters for the rest of the lives.

Olihan · 03/05/2008 19:18

FGS, ds1 and dd had CP last month. DD had it first and wasn't bothered by it at all. We didn't even have to open the calamine lotion. Ds1 was worse though and itched LOADS, especially at night. Piriton is supposed to be good for reducing the itching (DS1 couldn't take it though - didn't like the taste!) but the calamine did help. Oat baths are good too - hang a pair of tights filled with porridge oats over the end of the taps as you fill the bath. There's something in oats that reduces itching. Poor mite, it's not nice for them but it's over with quite quickly. DS1 was over the worst in about 3-4 days iirc.

Jabber, have a great party!

Indith, I couldn't help sniggering at your description of ds hanging off the bookcase . Bless him.

Will add a pic later of ds2 earlier today demonstrating his macho side.......
