Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

Calm, how scary!! I hope the worst is over and she's feeling better.

my OB told me that you could still express a little bit even a year later.

We have 3 preggers that I know of. AQ (Twins!), Indith, and Sacha.

Oh, and did I mention that I got a tattoo?

accessorizequeen · 27/04/2008 19:47

Welcome back, calm Febrile convulsion sounds v.scary, I would have been completely petrified. Any reason given or is it result of high temps so unlikely to reoccur? I really know nothing about infant illness, I am starting to worry that if twins are prem I will need to learn.
Finally finished throwing up I think, hardly eaten anything in 4 days and dare not in case I start again. Weird, have cast iron stomach normally. Twins have come down a bit so I can breathe properly again, which is also nice Keep sneaking peeks at their scan photos. Showed them to ds1 tonight and he asked whether they had any clothes on! We had a nice afternoon, I took him to see Horton hears a Who and then shopping for some pjs. Very pleasant and relaxing.
Indith, STUDY!
Jabber, you minx you and that I would ever ever wear a bikini.

Indith · 27/04/2008 20:00

Hello Calm Sounds like a hectic and scary time. Hope she is feeling better.

I still have colostrum so doubt I'm going to get rid of it now! Only stopped feeding in Jan though.

Am working, honest though at the moment getting my evening computering out of my system while I attempt to digest some of my dinner, I feel so full and sick after eating!

AQ I am sure you will cope just fine with the twins, think prem care is the sort of thing that gets learned on the job! After all no amount of "learning" prepares you for dealing with a full term baby the first time so I doubt it does a prem! And if you head over to the multiples lot and search the archives a bit I expect there will be plenty of advice on prem twins, bf for twins etc. Glad you are feeling better anyway, looking forward to getting past this stage of pg already! Seems to be dragging a lot and I've only been pg about 2 seconds. Still can't complain, this time 2 years ago I had had the squits for about 2 weeks and was even more stressed than I am now. As you are when you've just found out you are pg, in Spain, dp in Russia and a degree to finish! Altogether better this time

Poor baby Calm.

at tattoo, I want one too!

LenniEd · 27/04/2008 22:07

Hi all, having serious not-able-to-study-related issues. Why is it that as soon as the pressure is on I become the procrastination queen?

Glad to see you are coming to terms with the twins AQ. Agree with the at wearing a bikini, not sure if I could get into mine post-baby! Might take it on my hols actually, if the beach is a bit crowded I'll whip it out and we'll soon have the place to ourselves

FunkyGlassSlipper · 28/04/2008 08:28

Morning everyone.

Flylady Babysteps Day 17 - set a specific bedtime and stick to it. I skipped day 16 as it was just reading her emails and I doubt you guys have subscribed . More than halfway now.

Back to work in the office this morning after about 6 weeks absence and I only do 1 morning a week!

castlesintheair · 28/04/2008 14:57

AQ, my friend just had her twins 10 weeks early. They keep them in hospital until their due date (or 37 weeks). This is standard, I believe. My niece was born at 24 weeks and was in hospital for 3 months.
All are doing brilliantly btw
You just have to avoid germs for a bit but I guess with twins (if it's like my friend) you don't get to go out much for a while anyway!! Whilst it's not ideal to have prem babies on the upside, you get to recover from the birth and get a night's sleep.

Welcome back Calm. Scary stuff isn't it? DS nearly had a febrile convulsion aged one as a result of high temp. it's really common apparently. You find this out afterwards My friend's DD had a fit and was unconscious for ages whilst they were in a restaurant in Sydney on holiday last month. Poor things, they spent 5 days in hospital.

Gotta run, have to collect DS. Where does the day go?

Indith · 28/04/2008 17:50

You and me both lennied

Calm - sounds so frightening. Glad she is on the mend.

accessorizequeen · 28/04/2008 19:00

10 weeks early, castles! I just can't imagine babies of mine coming early, but know I should be prepared for it. I wasn't prepared for ds2 and he came at 37 weeks (ds1 42)! I know I need to get a move on and be more flybaby too, I'll have to force myself to get organised!

castlesintheair · 28/04/2008 19:09

Yes, be prepared AQ. My friend wasn't even on maternity leave when hers arrived, didn't have anything ready or bought. Twins have a habit of arriving early, though 10 weeks is early, so don't fret.

bebespain · 28/04/2008 20:10

Hi all

Back from sunny Manchester , had a great time. DS had a super time at one of those soft play centres, he´s never been before and loved it - me too! Lovely to see family and friends and to be back with everything "famliar". Not so happy to be back here though

Not had a proper catch up yet, just a quick skim

AQ - Huge congratulations on the twins - fantastic news. I always wanted twins, don´t ask me why. Hope you´re over the surprise and the sickness

Jabber - a tattoo!? Get you!! What is it?

LenniEd - hope you´ve got your study motivation back. I really take my hat off to you and Indith. I´d love to pick up the books again but I´m too buddy lazy

Hope baby Calm is much better

bebespain · 28/04/2008 20:16

Jabber - just having a proper catch up and have read what your tattoo is

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 28/04/2008 21:46

Has anyone new requested to join FB? What are your initials? I'll add you then.

Indith · 28/04/2008 21:53

Was going to ask similar

OP posts:
castlesintheair · 28/04/2008 22:23

Yes I got that too. Can't work out who you are ZeMnetter? Have you changed your name????

LenniEd · 28/04/2008 22:34

On the colostrum... sorry I'm a bit slow at the moment and about 2 days behind conversation... I never BF DD and I had colostrum for at least 4/5 months! I was quite shocked about that. Couldn't BF cos of medication, but kept wondering if it would have 'worked' if I'd tried later on since still had colostrum. I'm assuming it wouldn't have. Anyway..! back to my essay

And we used to have boudoir pillows, but I now have a second hand chaise longue(sp?) to put them on since DH couldn't stand them on the bed! It looks dead sophisticated in our bedroom (the chaise longue that is), like some twenties woman could lounge around on it naked and not look out of place.

Hope baby Calm is recovering. Sounds like a traumatic few days.

Soft play areas are fab aren't they bp - I follow DD around at them still (PFB syndrome) and have finally worked up the courage to go in the ball pool - used to have a fear that I'd pop all the balls due to my post-baby clumsyness and large rear end. Unfounded fortunately.

LenniEd · 28/04/2008 22:35

1920s that is.

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 28/04/2008 22:42

Castles - It's Margo! Sorry, this namechange was the result of a news story about 'Allo 'Allo.

It's the most descriptively accurate nickname I've had.

GodzillasPimplyBumcheek · 28/04/2008 22:45

I have two minutes - anyone want to see my newest photos - taken last two days!

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 28/04/2008 22:45

Wow - Lennie & Indith, premium colostrum. I'm sure I only supplied red top to dd1 (IYKWIM).

jabberwocky · 29/04/2008 00:18

Lol, Margo I thought that was you.

The doc we saw on Thursday who recommended dairy-free for ds1 suggested I carry on bfing ds2 until he's 2 then go dairy-free with him as well. we'll see how it goes.

Indith · 29/04/2008 09:22

Very cute welly monster Godzilla

OP posts:
babypowder · 29/04/2008 09:55

Love the photos, Godzilla! Wish DD2 could walk like that

I'm sooooo far behind on this thread. Damned RL.

Has anyone else's LO starting throwing tantrums? DD2 - my gorgeous sunny, laughing baby - has suddenly developed an evil twin (sorry AQ ) who strops and shouts and lashes out if she's told 'No'. Shan't be standing for that kind of behaviour. She was put down very firmly last night when she kicked off, but it's really hard when they don't understand the ramifications of their actions. DD1 never did this.

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 29/04/2008 10:56

DD2 had a very willful face yesterday when I didn't give her something and she shouted at me. (in baby language)
