Needed a new thread...

DD2 is much better today, she ate some fruity toast for her tea last night and loved it. And it didn't reappear an hour later either!
Have been to a mnmeet in Harrogate today, DD2 is starting to enjoy play dates now, especially this one as there was a fantastic baby section for her to play in!

Hi everyone. Ds very grumpy today because he only had 45 minutes sleep at nursery yesterday. Lunavix - saw your other thread. Hope you get evrything sorted out {{{{{hugs}}}}}}

TracyK · 05/01/2005 20:05

well the nightmare night has turned out to be a high temp in ds - so he must have a virus or something. he's v. tired and clingy all day and no appetite except for bf and eggy bread. Starts to play but after a couple of minutes starts crying to be picked up. poor baby.

Same problem here Lucyjones - dd needs to settle into nursery again. She won't sleep during the day and so comes home grumpy and crotchety.

Know what you mean about the Tsunami Fennel. I feel hopelessly pathetic because I keep crying at the pictures if the orphaned children. Something I could never have understood before dd was born. What good is crying going to do? I ask myself

Sorry your lo is unwell Tracyk, there seems to be some particularly nasty viruses around this year. Or maybe I have just never noticed before.

LucyJones · 05/01/2005 21:55

Poor ds - he was so tired at about 5.30pm this evening he cried all through his tea so I gave up. Dh thinks his really hot though so he's had some calpol. We've all got really bad colds/coughs too - can't wait til the spring although conscious that I shouldn't wish these precious early months away! No crawling here still but lots of sitting up and rolling on to his tummy still

spots · 06/01/2005 09:49

Hello April, happy new year and all. Do you mind May mums looking at your photos? I will add my name to the list of visitors and you maybe won't get a surprise if I've said hello here too.....

spots · 06/01/2005 09:52

...foiled...do I have to pretend to be you and 'invite myself' Yorkiegirl?

Fennel · 06/01/2005 10:28

spots - yes you have to pretend to be yorkiegirl and use the password sydney

Fennel · 06/01/2005 12:34

Lunavix - sorry to see your other thread
I hope you get some correct advice.

your thread seems to have contributed to quite a can of worms. (and I have just wasted ages following the arguments when I should be working)

dollsandbears · 06/01/2005 13:33

hello . not sleeping must the new phase then have had two v bad days and nights where ds just will not sleep , not his fault y-day betweeng-parents waking him up 2 play.
got himself overtired so let him cry in CC way and he promptly made himself sick ah well another leasson learned then
dh off to Vegas on a ' business ' trip mmm sounds fishy 2 me ha ha , i' m not bitter about , no no I am foing to stick to diet and not sulk with covccies at all !!! yer right !

lunavix · 06/01/2005 14:47

Ds has a tooth!!!!!
Well a scratchy bit on his gum anyways

If any of you have seen my other posts, it's a bit tough in our household atm but moments like this just make it all so worth it...

MrsDoolittle · 06/01/2005 15:24

Hi Fennel - me too
I haven't seen lunavixs' thread but I have seen some other nasty threads. I can't understand it, why do people take it all so seriously??
I've been lurking though and wasted a hideous amount of time. As if I haven't enough to do.

Dd has developed an attachment to a fleecey piece of blanket she pulled of one of her soft toys. I offered it to the nusery today incase it would help her sleep, I told them how VERY IMPORTANT it was. Buy they didn't want the responsibilty - can't blame them I guess.

Dd is always trying to demonstrate to me, and anyone else silly enough to offer her their hand, how sharp her teeth are!! Ouch

lunavix · 06/01/2005 15:26

Fennel - sorry I didn't see your post. Thanks for the support, it is appreciated.

Mine didn't have anything to do with JF directly though did it? It was an email she received...
I feel dreadful that I could have contributed she was so helpful

LucyJones · 06/01/2005 15:27

No Lunavix it wasn't you at all. Hope things get better for you soon

Fennel · 06/01/2005 19:47

no it wasn't you lunavix - but the advice you got there was quite strongly contested and I think that added to the row which must have been brewing.

Mrs D - at this point you can be thankful you are not still breastfeeding dd. once again my nipples are ripped up by dd3 with a very sharp nip with her 4 teeth. am persisting with the bf, having got this far I wanted to make it to a year this time (I didn't with the others), but the biting is not helping.

MrsDoolittle · 06/01/2005 22:57

OUCH!!!

DD is biting - not all the time but sometimes when she finishes a feed. I usually shout in surprise/shock - not sure it has any effect though...
Bizarre stuff seems to be happening on mumsnet at the moment. Not sure I am really following all the threads(maybe it's better to keep out of it!). lunavix, hope you're ok.

TracyK · 08/01/2005 13:55

i must be missing all the stuff on mumsnet - what's going on? under what threads??
ds is much better - temp gone back to normal - but still still sleeping loads - but still quite restless in the night (and hungry) as he's off his solids. I thought I'd weaned him off bf except for mornings - but he's been bf most meals times when he was poorly - so my boobs have blown up a bit again, bugger thought I'd got rid of it!

hewlettsdaughter · 08/01/2005 20:53

Tracy, I'm glad ds is better. There are various threads around relating to someone who has been accused of not being who she says she is, or something like that. Also, there have been some hurtful comments I believe. I started reading some of the threads but decided it would take too long to work it all out. These days I don't stray much beyond this thread tbh (no time!)

TracyK · 08/01/2005 21:58

I was wondering if there was an easy way to keep track of all the messages you were following - I always forget the ones I've joined or started if they aren't on the current conversations.

hewlettsdaughter · 08/01/2005 22:14

If you've contributed to a thread it will show up when you click on "Threads I'm on" at the top of the page - for the next 3 days anyway.

Fennel · 09/01/2005 13:13

HD - I'm sure it's always better to keep out of controversial threads! much safer to woffle away on april babies threads.

I am going to keep bf til a year if it kills me - now as well as shredded nipples I have painful backache, I got it in the summer too, I think it must be the loose ligaments which don't firm up til you stop bf (either that or it's advancing age ). why is such a simple thing so hard still? guess I'm just not a natural earthmother.

MrsDoolittle · 09/01/2005 18:53

I get backache even though I'm not breast feeding anymore! I put it down to leaning over the bath at night and picking dd off the floor all the time. What do you think?

I too think I should just stick to this thread. It sad that some areas of this site seem to have got so nasty. TracyK - check the 'An Apology'thread in current messages . Although be warned you'll be there for ages if you are going to read it all.
Nothing to do with you atall Lunavix - it's been simmering for a while.

Dd has her top teeth coming through now, explaining some griseling last night even though she was trying to go to sleep. Thank goodness for Calpol!

I think we may be ahead in the eating stakes - Dd will eat anything (apart from the currents in mincepies). As for mobility, we are very static. Lots of bouncing while sitting but that's it.

Anyone else found their little ones to have becoming very demanding over Christmas following all the attention? Cor blimey......

dolbear · 10/01/2005 09:21

good morning peeps
backache ?? do not talk to me a bout it , thought I had got rid , but no , i thimk u r right , all that bending and picking up , better than any gym , but the old upper arm stregnth is pretty impressive , went 2 the gp and she says wait untill they can walk then it will improve , ( she 's a laugh ) ah well ds back from vegas 2-day and not a moment 2 soon , 2 any single mums out there - RESPECT as my brother and his mates say the most sleep in one go I have had in 5 days is 3.5-4 hrs and I am dead on my feet - NO MORE !!!
