Needed a new thread...

DD2 is much better today, she ate some fruity toast for her tea last night and loved it. And it didn't reappear an hour later either!
Have been to a mnmeet in Harrogate today, DD2 is starting to enjoy play dates now, especially this one as there was a fantastic baby section for her to play in!

Happy New Year all!

dd2 has been an angel over all festivities, and is generally just super smiley 9 mths in a couple of days... incredible. She's not exactly crawling, but if you turn round she's not quite where you put her, so she's getting there! And no teeth yet, but gallantly sucks toast to death.

Our friends are just back from Thailand with their 2 boys - they were 10km down the coast from Phi Phi, and were supposed to be there for 3 more weeks, but are just glad to be alive.

MrsDoolittle · 02/01/2005 19:22

Hello Ladies! Happy New Year to you all and your families.
Sorry your dd is ill yorkiegirl
I have been offline for what seems like ages - I've been soo busy I haven't had the time to log on. Dd had had so much excitement she was beginning to get really grumpy and tired towards the end of last week but she has been sleeping for England today.
It's been a lovely Christmas for us.

However the terrible disaster in the Indian ocean haunts me. God something like this really puts things into perspective - what gives me the right to moan about anything? The effect is incredibly sobering.

Hello!

oh dear - I'm trying to add a photo to the album but failing miserably..! Might try again tomorrow when I'm at work - more time to play around with it!!!

We've had such a lovely time here - every day's been brilliant and I'm back in the swing of being at home - don't want to go back to work...

Anyway, will certainly be able to post more once I'm back..!

dot1 · 03/01/2005 09:19

ooh - I've done it!!! Couldn't quite change the main title, but have put a title on the top. Anyway, very pleased with my IT skills...!!

lunavix · 03/01/2005 10:46

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New year, haven't been on as dp has been off work and ds still has this virus/asthma/chesty thing.

Still no crawling, teething, bum shuffling etc but he does like to stand holding onto things, although he won't pull himself up.. I could have the worlds laziest baby! Scary that in a few months he'll be a year old!

Oh and I managed to add a photo too.

It's awful about the tsunami Such a tragedy. The death toll is just so sad, but I have to admit every time I hear about a baby missing or lost it hits home just a little more

Fennel · 03/01/2005 14:38

Happy new year everyone.

lovely new photos Dot and lunavix and Kristina. I swapped mine for a more recent one of dd3.

dd3 has got good at crawling. the last few days she's eaten a glass xmas tree decoration - had to drag all the slivers out of her mouth - and some plasticine. we can't seem to keep the floor clear of all the lego, marbles, and other tiny sharp objects which dd1 and dd2 play with.

yulettsdaughter · 03/01/2005 19:32

Have done the same as you Fennel and put a new photo of dd on the April babies webpage. Thanks for making it available Yorkiegirl - it's nice to see all the babies .

Dot - I know exactly what you mean about being into the swing of things holiday-wise. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow myself....

Eek re the xmas tree decoration! Good job you spotted it Fennel.

TracyK · 03/01/2005 19:37

Thanks Yorkiegirl. I've uploaded my ds - but don't know how to rename him. He's the one in the dog suit.

TracyK · 03/01/2005 20:32

bugger- i've put it under mumsnet - i'll try and move it.

Lowryn · 03/01/2005 20:36

They're all so cute.
I have updated DS's photo too.
He is finally crawling and pulling himself up. He managed one step on the stairs today so I guess we will have to put the stairgate up soon. He has learnt to wave and gets overexcited when it's time to go to bed!

dollsandbears · 03/01/2005 20:41

ahh , mm no waving here yet , lots of v happy clapping though

Fab YG - ds knows waving is something to do with his hands, so he claps instead and then does a beaming smile - 'cos he knows that makes me smile back! Very cute at this age aren't they..?!! He's crawling backwards with ease, but just can't figure out how to go forwards - v. frustrating for him...!

TracyK · 04/01/2005 11:24

nightmare night last night.
we had gone to ikea yesterday and ds only had an hours nap all day - so was in bed and asleep by 6pm. he woke at midnight and had some milk - but then woke at 12.30 again and refused milk. Brought him into bed with me and he went back to sleep - but very fitfully and kept sitting up giving a little wail and falling flat on his face and going back to sleep. of course that was me awake and couldn't get back to sleep. he did this every hour or so all night. dh got up at 5.30 and I was awake again.
ds woke at 7 and we both got up - but he was still absolutely knackered and was howling all the way to nursery.
I do hope that he is teething or something rather than all this being because of a missed nap.
although dh is a bit more understanding of my nap time nuerosis. he thought i was being a neurotic mother!

Fennel · 05/01/2005 09:13

TracyK - hope you had a better night last night.

I'm back to work today, as reluctantly as everyone else (even tho I'm usually the first to skip away happily from the domestic chaos). must be cos our xmas holiday was surprisingly pleasant (after a load of hellish weekends in Nov/Dec).

love all the new baby photos - it's quite a gallery now tho with some glaring omissions - where is baby doolittle?

I love all the baby photos too. I'm waiting for some Christmas photos to come back!

I'm marking today - oh joy of joys!

How's work for everyone else?

Fennel · 05/01/2005 11:24

hi Mrs D

work sucks

am having unusual moment of wishing I was full time at home with dd3 (it won't last though, just a whim). Those awful stories of people losing babies in the Tsunami are making me clingy to her.

dd2 starts "school" tomorrow (age 3 1/4). she's already dressed in her uniform today, she's so keen. also dressed in leopard suit on top of uniform, bizarrely.
