How sad

kiwibella · 08/02/2008 12:02

hehe... I have that Friday feeling - Kate is at nursery!! Only a couple more weeks of this luxury... I need the money . I'm also a lazy procrastinating woman... still in my pjs but with hubs working from home which is a pleasure.

Diva... unfortunately their new teacher needs to put down some authority or she will be completely undermined if it is up to the deputy or even the head on their return. It is tough starting out teaching... maybe your ds is doing her a favour???? She should have loads of strategies and needs the confidence to put them in place... and be thankful that she has the support of the parents.

That's my opinion anyways . Ive taught classes and done supply and the one thing I learned is that kids will always give you the benefit of the doubt but if they see a gap / a change they will dive through it .

Is there a TA in the class? I always found them to be really useful.

Evenhope... I hope that last night was better for you. I have to say that my dh is worth his weight in gold for helping out... but he is a complete half-arse. Just like yours, he will bath the baby but leave all the stuff out... cook a meal but leave the kitchen in such a state... I guess I'm loudly complacent - moan about it but accept that is how he is . Doesn't make sense really.

Last night was also one where Kate woke hourly to feed although she was basically up from 12:30 until 4:00. I was so tired, I got so cross with her and feel awful about that today. Silly thing was as normal as anything this morning??? When hubs dropped her at nursery, they commented that most of the babies had come in after similar nights. Spooky .

oh muppet!! That is lovely.. I didn't even think of there being something to hold I like how they gave him a name.

Divastrop · 08/02/2008 16:12

muppet-he must have been so tiny.

i am so lucky to have all these wonderful children, even if they do drive me up the wall sometimes

bella-i do wonder why ds2 was no problem for the first teacher(who had taught reception there for 19 years)and has suddenly turned into a little sod.he is just laughing at her when she tells him off.i have told him he has to listen to her,and have stopped any treats untill he behaves,i dont know what else i can do.

fitfox · 08/02/2008 18:34

Oh Muppet - your poor friend. It is the saddest thing when a mother loses her child

Evenhope/Rosy/Diva - DH here is the same: he does do stuff but leaves all the mess for me to tidy up afterwards. 90% of the stuff I do as routine - it just wouldn't occur to him to do. I have never seen him wipe a surface for example. I wipe all the kitchen surfaces each night and each morning I find them covered in toast crumbs and sugar from his early morning brekkie. He has a list of stuff he does do and if I try and get him to expand that list, he shuffles round the house muttering about me being a "nag".

I have diorreah now and so does DD. Monti not really vomming anymore but still exhausted and very quiet. Both CM and I are very cross with that mother still . She is now making sure Monti doesn't play with the same toys as she said the other kid still looks ill to her.

Callieco · 08/02/2008 20:42

Muppet, I think the recognition of the baby as you say will be very healing for her in the long term. Things have come a long way in this area from the dreadful days when even full-term stillborn babies were more or less chucked away with the rubbish as I understand it. Poor girl - at least she has an understanding, concerned friend to support her.

I'm feeling very pleased with myself because a few weeks back I wrote to MNHQ to suggest including a premature section for the site, and they have!

Isn't it Amie's Jo's first birthday about now?

bethoo · 09/02/2008 09:58

it is very sad when one loses a bby after the first trimester as most women think they are on the home stretch iykwim. the sadder thing is that hospitals do class it as a late miscarriage until 20 weeks whne it becomes something else. i think they only perform funerals after 26 weeks. the baby your friend lost Muppet would have been the size of a finger i think. it is so horrible, and i cant imagine what it is like to have to lose a child so late in pregnancy. my friend had ot go to a funeral last week as her friends baby died at 38 weeks due ot somethign wrong with placenta. cant imagine being so close to the end.

on a happier note Hayden stood today of his own accord for a mere second but big step. God i hope he is not walking soon!

Rosylily · 09/02/2008 10:49

Foxy if I had to get up and wipe a few crumbs and sugar off the surfaces I'd be in heaven. I can't see the surfaces when I get up or the floor.....

fitfox · 09/02/2008 13:47

Just fed all my kids instant noodles for lunch!! I had some too - deliciously trashy lunch. Monti really loves them!!!

Ita really Spring like outside but I feel to spaced and knackered to mobilise myself. Monti is still vommining and DD and I have squitty tummies. DH has man-flu and Ds1 has ear ache - lordy we all need a holiday!

muppetisacat · 09/02/2008 17:29

we went to the Zoo today! Lovely spring sunshine and great to spend the whole day outside

hope you are all having good weekends and the tummy bugs are on the way out

kittywise · 09/02/2008 17:53

Oh foxy, your poor family hope you all feel heaps better soon.

We went to the beach today, it was glorious. The kids chased the waves and there was loads of planks of wood all over the beach from a beached cargo ship so people had made all sorts of wigwams and camps with them. The kids had a ball. I love living by the sea

Divastrop · 09/02/2008 19:57

kitty-i was about to typebut then i remembered that i live pretty much by the sea myself(well, about a 40min walk/10 min bus ride).

we went to the park today and one of ds1+dd1's friends tagged along so i had 6 children for the afternoon.i was by the conversations going on between 9 and 10 year olds though.
but i am a prude,i suppose

foxy-the older dc like instant noodles,i havent given them to Elsie though as im paranoid about MSG.
i took them all to mcdonalds()for tea,and ended up eating ds2's mcflurry, which was a bad idea as i threw it back up when i got home

dh is all pleased with himself as he's getting known on wow for being really good and keeps being asked to join groups.this requires all of his attention and concentration.at the moment he has the headset on so they can all talk to each other rather than waste time typing.he keeps joyfully telling me how brilliant he is and im trying to bite my tongue to stop myself saying its a shame he isnt putting the same effort into being a husband and father

it wouldnt be constructive for me to say anyhitng though,it would only push him further away.

kittywise · 09/02/2008 20:04

Diva, are you having man probs at the mo then?

Divastrop · 09/02/2008 20:23

kitty-no,no,everything is fine .

this is a public forum

kittywise · 09/02/2008 20:29

Divastrop · 10/02/2008 11:57

i take it everybody is off enjoying the sunshine...

Divastrop · 10/02/2008 12:11

kitty-i posted a rant, have stopped caring that its a public forum crap

eidsvold · 10/02/2008 12:23

hope you are all getting some sunshine. Thankfully it has been a bit cooler here today. Had a stressful weekend - now just want this week over and done with.

muppetisacat · 10/02/2008 12:49

Are you alright eids?

eidsvold · 10/02/2008 13:26

yeh - just been a long weekend. Dd1 had a medical emergency yesterday afternoon which meant the afternoon in hospital seeing if she would react to medication due to some dodgy notemaking in her file. That was after getting a snippy receptionist who would not let me speak with a doctor regarding dd1's cardiac situation.

Then on Friday of this week we are off to see the cardiologist to see if dd2 has a heart defect that our girls - well dd2 and 3 have a 1 in 50 chance of inheriting from their father. As well as trying to get to see dd1's dentist ( part of her medical emergency) and seeing the paed on Monday - which is usually at least a 2 hour wait until we are seen.

However dh at home tomorrow so he can take dd2 and 3 and I can just focus on dd1 when seeing and waiting for the paediatrician.

Other than that - managed to have a fruitful weekend - finally caught up laundry and ironing, got grass mowed, cleaned out laundry and managed to clean most of the house. As well as play with dds in the garden too.

ReverseThePolarity · 10/02/2008 14:59

Hi all,

Not had much time to post I'm afraid although and I have read through everyone's messages I'm not sure I have the ability to post coherent replies to everyone, sorry.

Been busy with work, peer supporter stuff, dh (who is going to have to have an operation on his eye and yes he is very nervous and scared about it and about the chances of it going wrong but has been acting like an absolute arse since the diagnosis I mean a complete and utter tw@t really he has been), dieting (finally got fed up of the excess baggage and have already gone from size 18 to 16) and ... of course ... Bertie.

He's able to crawl properly now but prefers not to; he prefers to crawl to the nearest piece of furniture and use it to stand up - he has just started cruising a little although sometimes he drops back onto his bum. So strange... he was so late to crawl but just in the space of three weeks he's gone from barely crawling... to nearly cruising! Strange.

Anyway I do like reading about your news but I don't get much chance to pop in these days, so sorry if you think I'm ignoring you!!

muppetisacat · 10/02/2008 16:00

eids - that does sound like a stressful time! Hope things are sorted with dd1 and that things go well for dd2 at the cardiologist. Is this a condition that you have to wait until they are a certain age to test for? It's such a bloody worry isn't it? I have a really minor heart thing which is meant to be hereditary - can't get my kids tested til they are in their teens.

kittywise · 10/02/2008 17:41

Just got back from 5 hours in A&E, Ron's broken both bones in his left forearm. Poor little mite's got a full arm cast!
Ah I knew I shouldn't have let him go bungee jumping yesterday, but he did go on so. That'll learn me

fitfox · 10/02/2008 18:48

Kitty - OMG poor thing - what happened?

Did he fall off something?

Wow what a hard day you must've had sitting in A&E all day.

Eids - yes it must be very stressful for you ATM. How long does it take before you find out the results on DD2's little heart.

kiwibella · 10/02/2008 19:30

Kitty ... Ronnie ... what really happened.

I'm the gullible sort who would believe that he was bungy jumping!!!

Eids... not much fun for you - but hopefully the testing this week will be a positive result for your dd (positive being that she is ok). I hope that dd1 will recover after her ordeal too.

Mossy... make sure that you put you at the top of that list!!

We have totally enjoyed the sunshine this weekend spending time in St James' Park yesterday and Greenwich Park today. Kate absolutely loves playgrounds... she makes the funniest noises as she gets excited!!!

Piff... where are ya?? As we walked to the tube station yesterday we saw a gazillion drunk kiwis at Parliament Square at the end of the Circle Line tour .

I wonder how Jay is doing... her baby can't be far away .

Diva... off to check out your thread. Hope everything is ok x x
