Stefka - was starting to wonder where you'd got to. Sorry you're still having trouble with Dareh's sleeping. Re solids - we started at about 19 weeks - baby rice first for about a week, then started pureeing stuff - root veggies (carrot/parsnip/butternut squash (which takes AGES to prepare - not doing that again!) /sweet potato/swede) and fruit (apple/pear). She likes everything so far. I got Annabel Karmel's complete baby & toddler meal book - that's got lots of ideas in it including menus from weaning onwards. We've not done anything exotic yet but only because the freezer's stuffed full of the 'first tastes' stuff.
Highchairs - we've not got one yet, but a couple of the mums at playgroup recommended quite a basic one from Ikea - it's only £15 and in plastic, making it very easy to wipe the food off .
Lots of people meeting dh on internet! I met dh at gym - he still goes a lot but my membership lapsed a long time ago. We were friends for a few months before we actually got together as a couple, but then we got engaged a year later and married in 2003. Anya's been a long time coming!!
FT - glad you got through your day ok and you had plenty of support, even if it did get off to a bad start.
Impressed that some are managing to find time and energy to do the deed. Glad I'm not the only one counting on fingers of one hand though!
Just made a mental note to be more organised - if Alice and Choc can meet up every week then I'm sure FT and I can manage regular get-togethers. Should make the most of having another one of you nearby. You free next week FT or are you busy over Easter?
Muppet - kidneys in red wine sounds very exotic! Did wonder when it's ok to give food soaked in wine to lo's - wine goes in most of my cooking and seems a shame to miss out. (5 months is obviously too early )
J2O - good news on your pg test.
ejt - what do you mean you're not a member of the yacht club ?
MrsF - well done Ben at rolling! Anya hasn't rolled now for about a week - she's probably forgotten how by now so will have to wait until the urge takes her again. She has started doing sit-ups . If she's laid down she lifts her head & shoulders off the floor. No worries about her neck muscles then(!) I'm sure she's trying to sit up, though I've only let her sit up once or twice for a couple of minutes each time. Still no word from the hospital .
Mine - well done at lo for being such an angel.
How did everyone cope with the storm last night? Any damage? We had a drainpipe snap completely off so dh is off to get some new pipe this afternoon - not sure how he's going to fix it into the ground though? That's quite a lot of damage for round here - we don't usually get anything at all this side of Manchester while the rest of the country's being battered.
Hello to everyone else. Can hear dd stirring...
