cazboldy · 22/01/2008 21:39

thanks pillock that is really nice of you, but I think you are right about the pigs! A friend of mine lives right next door to the factory at burston!

OMG Ooogs that is completely hellish. you must spend half of your life like a zombie (sorry no offence intended!) you deserve a medal, and your dh won't know what's hit him!!!

elkiedee · 22/01/2008 21:52

oooggs... all I can say is eek, both at your dh planning to go and work in Scotland for a week, and your night - from what you're saying I take it this isn't out of the normal pattern.

Sexonlegs · 22/01/2008 22:00

Too much talking!

Ellie darling, can we have a new thread please!?

NL, glad the party went well - you sound knackered!

Maveta, poor N. Hope the poor lamb is better soon.

SPB, you sound well naffed off. Hope you are ok.

MJ, delighted to hear you sounding back to your chipper self. Long may it last!

Dippy, any news on the pg front??

Oooggs, what a night. Hope you have a better one tonight flower.

Caz, sorry you are having an iffy time atm. I couldn't bear the thought of moving. I hope you and dh can sort something out.

Hi Ange, hope you and yours are well.

Bramshott, I would echo what Pesha has said. Starting school is such a huge thing. Becky has been a handful of late in many ways, and I put it down to the backlash of her being couped (sp) up all day at school, and then being out and about and being wild!

Hi everyone I haven't mentioned.

All ok here. Feeling better today tahnk God, although knackered. An old work colleague is coming over tomorrow to meet Katie, so that should be fun.

Off to bed now. Night xx

erm......... yes.......... new thread............ title?

Good morning

Feeling very awake and energetic this morning because (drum roll please) B slept all night (well to 6 when dh was getting up anyway) in her own cot. No feed at midnight, no 2.30am or 4.45 wakings, no transfer downstairs to travel cot, no kicking snuggling up with mummy! Anyway I'm not going to get too excited about this - she was absolutely whacked yesterday with the party etc - but it feels great for now!

Pesha - you know you've got to go to the dentist don't you? Good Luck with that.

Liath - when dd1 and 2 were small a mum at toddler group (with her child cemented round her leg) asked me how I got them to play independently. I had to waffle a bit because the truth was - I hadn't done anything over than sit on the sofa and ignore them 'cos I was reading. What sort of things does dd like to play with? She might play better herself with toys that require a bit of imagination - like dolls houses, kitchens, tool benches or shops?

Elkie - thanks - we're fine here - well away from the river, went over it yesterday and it is huge though!

Caz - hope you can sort things out with dh and the job/move question. Finding a job and a house for 7 - nightmare! Uncertainty is horrible isn't it - been there got the t-shirt!

Bramshott - poorly pc always a pain in the neck - what a relief you can still access MN though - essentials first eh?

Mammyjo - how lovely to read you are feeling better. That's brilliant - well done you!

NorthernLurker · 23/01/2008 07:33

Aaargh - wasn't finished yet - my post continues:

WCL - offload away - can I offer you a {{{hug}}}?

Bramshott - would dd eat macaroni cheese - my two love that (dh makes it) - tbh I think the food picky thing is normal and the best thing - the only thing is to ignore it - it will pass in time. What about jacket potatoes? Home-made burgers? (says she who has never made a burger in her life) The constant crying I think sounds like tiredness - and also a bit of 'lets make mummy feel really bad' - girls are really good at that! Sorry but my recommendation is the same - ignore, walk away. Bedtime - sounds like the lights/story might be stimulating rather than relaxing her. Does she have a story before bed? You could try reading quite a long chapter from a book each night - that way she gets the routine, plenty of attention from you or dh - but it's focused on something - she doesn't need to do anyting to get it - and by the time you're done reading she's bored of you!

Oooggs - what a shame about dh and Scotland - hope you survive ok. I don't know how you do the night duty!

Maveta - poor little N - is he better this morning?

GMM - good work on the ebay!

SOL - enjoy your time with your friend.

Right better get ready to do school run and then toddler group. So pleased the party is done with - it's a weight of my mind. They were all really good, enjoyed everything I think. A couple of them had a little falling out - to be expected with 8 over-excited 7 year olds. We seemed to patch it up ok. Oh and I got the chocolate fountain clean - eventually!

Maveta · 23/01/2008 09:11

Thanks POTC - it does make me feel better to hear someone else would have done the same when all we heard from dh's sisters (once we were already waiting for the doc) was 'oh it won't be anything, mine get that all the time'.

GMM - glad you managed to sell (almost) everything. Wish I had something of value to sell! lol

Oooggs - I do not know how you do it. You have my sympathy as with dh on an exam week aswell as still unable to move his left arm (which means he can't even pick up N safely) I am feeling really like I'm doing everything. And that's only with 1!! How you do it with 3.. you're a champ!

I know dh can't help his arm being out of action and he feels useless and frustrated but am just feeling so tired, I've done all the getting up at night and early mornings when normally we'd share it a bit more. especially the mornings. And I still think he could get up first and make the coffee etc. even if he can't take N through. Grrr. Think I'm annoyed because his sister was joking the other day about how she just pretends not to hear her baby so her dh always gets up for him and dh laughed that he does the same. ha. ha. ha. i laughed so much i cried.

N is still being a whingepot. Poor babe, I know he must feel crappy still and I have to say I'm not being as good a mummy as I'd like to be, I'm not being as patient as I should be and am starting to feel tired and stroppy and just like I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. He whinges if I hold him, he whinges if I put him down, he whinges if I put food in his mouth, he whinges if I don't. Yesterday he whinged every time I left the room. literally. i showed dh by going out and coming in again and it was WHINGE. stop. WHINGE. stop. he woke up at 2am and was obviously so hungry as he hardly ate yesterday so scoffed down a big bowl of porridge. Tried to wake up at 6am but by 6.30am we'd managed to get him to settle in our bed and we all slept another hour. Give thanks for small mercies etc etc
My Dad has already texted me to say he arrived at theirs (dropped off by dh) in a foul mood and my dad stuck him in bed with my mum and cleared off!

I'm so happy to be at work today!!

Sorry for the essay - missed you all yesterday! lol

runnyhabbit · 23/01/2008 09:15

Just a quick one as I'm in work

I am sooo with dh work, esp his work mate, who OFFERED TO PAY THE £200 clamping fee, which has put pressure on dh.

We can't afford £200

But dh was owed some overtime, which looks like we won't see cos of this stupid fecking fine, and his dickhead arsehole of a work mate.

Plus, his work have now decided that ALL parking fines etc, will be paid for by the individual, not the company. Which is going to cause a huge problem cos a lot of dh work involves parking where he shouldn't.
What I'm trying to say is that dh is a door engineer, and has to park his van close to wherever he's working (eg a bank in a pedestrianised area), so the fines were passed on to the client. No big deal.
Except, this is now going to be HUGE deal. And all because is stupid cockface of work mate colleague "felt bad"

His boss seems to have forgotten that it was dh who helped build this company up.

RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

runnyhabbit · 23/01/2008 09:18

I am so sorry for the swearing

And, think I might have come up with a new work/life/college plan

Feeling a bit out of sorts
A lot seems to be happening which I have no control over.

runnyhabbit · 23/01/2008 09:20

Promise I will catch up later

MJ How do you fancy a night on the lash?

Best get on with some work now
x

StealthPolarBear · 23/01/2008 09:47

Hi everyone
maveta sorry to hear N is ill. How does he seem this morning? Goes without saying I would have had him ckecked out as well
runny at your DH's work mate. Why on earth has he done that? Plus stupid rule about the parking fines, I assume they wouldn't physically be able to park any further away?In that case they just can't do the job, surely?? What if they actually can't afford a fine?
Feeling much bettter than yesterday, thanks for all the sympathy but feeling a bit of a fraud, was just a bit fed up! Had an OK night- up at 2.30 and 6 then in our bed until 9 . oooggs, your night made my eyes water.
Stinky about to go in the bath then will be trying his christening outfit on - shall I get a photo?

geordiemacminx · 23/01/2008 09:58

SPB -YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2008 10:14

Brain really isn't working today Feeling v.tired and have horrid cough. Poop. Also got job description for this job I really want today and it has changed somewhat Peed off, but going to apply for it anyway, just a bit tbh. Sigh.

Sorry.

Runny - @ your DH's work mate. Grrrrrr!

How is everyone else doing today?? xx

elkiedee · 23/01/2008 10:21

RH, that seems really tough about the money.

Maveta, sorry N's so whingy, D was doing that to me a lot yesterday, my dad was here and he seemed happy to see grandpa but not to let me move more than an inch from his reach! Are they suffering separation anxiety?

SPB, yes please re photos - did you go for the M&S outfit you posted a link for?

D's having a nap but I will take him out to swim very soon.

Our replacements for what was taken have arrived - the new ipods are very snazzy and much posher than the old ones though I still wish it hadn't happened. I can have music in the mornings again, yay, just have to put on lots of songs and redo some playlists.

elkiedee · 23/01/2008 10:22

CD, good luck with the job application, hope the cough clears up.

CaptainDippy · 23/01/2008 10:22

Yey for getting stuff back Elkie! xx Don't forget to post a pic of that blanket!!

Quick Q - Do people like this bed ??

Mashanapedyjo · 23/01/2008 10:24

Runny at dh's work and work colleague. And dont worry about the swearing!!

CD - sorry you're feeling bleurgh today

Maveta - I would always rather check something out and be told its nothing than kleave it and it turn out to be something iyswim. Mine do/did get rashes with viruses but still always best to get it checked out and make sure thats all it is. Sorry you're having such a hard time with dh being out of action and N being hard work

NL - I know what you mean about being a relief that the party is over - I always stress myself out quite a bit trying to do so much and remember everything and wanting things to go really well, it does weigh on your mind doesn't it?!

um...

Nope cant remember anything from last night as I caught up then but didnt post and now its all too long ago!

Have dentist booked for tomorrow and have started a thread to ask about what abs I can take while bfing as dentist was clueless last time I saw him

Oh yeah - SPB - yes please to piccys!!!

Mashanapedyjo · 23/01/2008 10:28

X posted

Elkie - glad you got your new ipods and things

Dippy - I do like the bed, was going to get one like that myself a few years ago but never did. Are you thinking of getting one? I think they do very similar ones in Argos and places cheaper than that. Or they did when I was looking anyway!

StealthPolarBear · 23/01/2008 10:28

hi everyone
Yes, Dippy, that bed looks very nice! Getting a new one?

Maveta · 23/01/2008 10:30

sorry you're a bit today dippy. xx

spb - photos please!

hi GMM and Elkie!

Runny - that is really bad re. your work making them pay fines, I think if that's the case your dh should take it literally as in, not park where he shouldn't and then the boss will have to figure out how to sort out the ensuing problems.

A lot of people here get fines and they have to pay them unless the client/we made/told them to park there. i.e. at the airport, they have to go in and meet the clients and they leave the vans on the 5 min parking section so the clients can come straight out and into the vans. Would be crappy to make them all stand there waiting while they pop up to get the van out of the carpark so whenever they get fined we paid it no problem. But if they just double park because it was quicker for them, they have to pay it (though in reality they just don't admit to them and then by the time they arrive in the post the boss normally says to forget it and just pay them! lol)

StealthPolarBear · 23/01/2008 10:34

OK christening photo on
He pleaded with me not to put the one with the hat on so you've just got the outfit!

StealthPolarBear · 23/01/2008 10:36

Sorry, elkie, glad you got your stuff back. We went for a John Lewis outfit in the end. Hopefully it'll still fit him for a couple of weddings in August, but probably not.
(Wonder if we can exchange it for a bigger size once he's worn it )

StealthPolarBear · 23/01/2008 10:36

Maveta, how is N?
