Thanks Dippy.

Has anybody tried their baby with pancakes yet? B likes a bit of Yorkshire Pudding and I've got this little pot of blueberry stuff which I think would be just perfect as baby jam. She's got five teeth now so if I cut it up small????

weeonion · 21/01/2008 12:58

NL - C is pretty much on grown up food. she loves homemade pancakes - either fruit or savoury. she manages fine on them with just gums and new tooth!

NorthernLurker · 21/01/2008 13:00

Thanks WO - pancakes it is tonight then. Did you get anywhere with your sick note/annual leave problem?

Pesha · 21/01/2008 13:06

Dippy - you're completely barking very brave

DD's had a few parties in a big soft play hall with loads of kids and its not too bad really, and we've never got round to playing many party games they're just happy playing!

Pancakes sound like a good idea, thanks NL!

geordiemacminx · 21/01/2008 13:09

WO - You coming to baby sensory on thursday?

weeonion · 21/01/2008 13:18

GMM - hi missus! i wont make babysensory this week- c has a dentist check up.
NL - our babies are the same age! what time was B born at? re sick leave = I have an appt with my doc this week and will be getting one. my mat leave is finished and i am currently on anual leave - due to go back 2 days a week. i have an appeal for my flexible working request this week - dreading it as i know the answer will stay be the same after it. i hate taking sick leave - have only had 4 days in 8 years but HV/CPN and doc all want me to take some more time.

its horrible outside. was meant to be walking to swimming today but have spent the morning playing with C instead. still no signs of crawling!

geordiemacminx · 21/01/2008 13:34

Let me know how you get on WO.

We didnt go to swimming last week, C isnt really enjoying it, its too cold so we stayed at home, havent signed up for next term, thought we woud give it a break for a bit.

Argh, am selling some bits on ebay at the moment, the old pram, a few baby bits and unwanted xmas presents... honesty the amount of ridiculous questions you get has to be seen to be believed. Its driving me mad!!

oooggs · 21/01/2008 13:35

morning afternoon ladies

can't remember a thing except weeoinion - hope soon good news comes from you boss (yes I know it was that last thing I read!!!!!!)

catch you later going for a walk in the sunshine!!

oooggs · 21/01/2008 13:36

hi gmm x posted

yes I need to ebay, pesha do you still want those pillows????????? no interest from the paper. I will weigh them later

mammyjo · 21/01/2008 13:39

Morning all. F has done a bit of crawling today!! She has been threatening to do it for about six weeks, but I looked up and there she was, little bum wiggling!! A real novelty for me as ds never crawled. He chose to walk at 10.5 months instead!

Hi Tili, lovely to see you back

Eddas, hope your ds gets better soon. Poor little man. Is he keeping some more fluids down now? Well done you on the weight loss too

Maveta, bloody right that you should have got the day off. I am assuming that you still have to work the days that are bank holidays for the UK staff? Works both ways IMO!

NL, hope your dh enjoys his first day. I sympathise with getting soaked on the school run, as the exact same thing happened to me. Why is it that the rain always decides to start falling at about quarter to nine in the morning?!

WO, dont feel bad about taking some sick time. If you are not ready to go back then you need to wait until that changes. Be kind to yourself, and dont feel guilty xx

mammyjo · 21/01/2008 13:40

Hi ooggs Very of your sunshine!

NorthernLurker · 21/01/2008 13:56

Wo - if you need the time there's no reason why you should feel bad for taking it. Take it, and relax and enjoy your baby. Hoping the appeal goes well anyway. To answer your question - B was born at 2.38 am - went into labour in the early evening of 20th and was hoping she would make an appearence before midnight but my waters just would not break - so we hung around a bit. When the waters did go she whooooooshed out! And now she has a mumsnet twin so that's nice

Hi mammyjo - so you've joined the crawling club too - good luck - B is an absolute nightmare delight

Hmmmmm Oooggs has sunshine (sulk, sulk, grump)

AngeG · 21/01/2008 13:59

Hello all

WO - Hope the appeal goes ok and that they agree to your request. Agree with what MJ says, "be kind to yourself and don't feel guilty"

MJ - at crawling. Izzy is into everything now, stands up at anything and everything and has let go for a few secs and then falls over, I don't want a walking baby/toddler yet!

Dippy - Hope the party goes well, you are a brave woman!

Oooggs - Sunshine It's pouring down here.

SPB - Snow I love snow (as long as I don't have to drive in it!)

POTC - Glad to see you were working hard Meant to say a while back, how was J at meeting 'the girlfriend'

GMM - Ebay it alien to me

Pancakes sounds like a great idea NL/P

What a mammoth catch up NL

Elkie - Sorry about DP Mum, hope something can be sorted out. Glad you've started talking about things.

Right off to my first mums group in a sec!

ooh meant to say since Izzy has finished the a/bs she is back to sleeping 12 hours again Sorry to all those with non-sleeping babies

Bye for now xx

NorthernLurker · 21/01/2008 14:01

That's not a bad catch up yourself Ange

But Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh to you and your sleeping 12 hours baby

2HotCrossBunnies · 21/01/2008 14:32

Afternoon ladies. Pouring rain here which started in time to get wet on the way home from nursery school grrrr . Haven't had a dry day yet during the school run, blah!

WO - Hope the appeal goes ok. I remember from going back to work last time that I basically had to ask myself what would I do if they didn't agree to 3 days (work wanted me to do 4) and decided that I would resign! Then the pressure was off as in my head I had made my decision IYSWIM.

MJ - another crawler . Austen is EVERYWHERE and H is really having to learn how to deal with it...

Dippy - Hope the party goes well! I don't think we're that close to you as it took DH the best part of 2 hours to get to Wittering! We're SW London but DH was brought up in Burgess Hill so we're quite familiar with Sussex. Will probably move there eventually - for now though I like having Tescos at the end of the road!

Can't remember much else, sorry. Am panicking a little about this pm. Some of my nct group are coming over and as we all have 2 DCs now that makes 8 children, 7 of which will require supper! I have a large pan of bolognaise sauce bubbling on the hob! Hope they will all eat it!! Its nice that our families are grwoing at the same pace though and we're still going throught the same stuff 2.5 years on!

God wish the rain would STOP!

Octothechildherder · 21/01/2008 15:04

2hxb - there are 16 kids in my first group now and it is bonkers when we meet up

Maveta - loved the video of N on facebook - very cute.

Still applying for jobs ...!

2HotCrossBunnies · 21/01/2008 18:09

yes - there's another 6 DCs for the other 3 mums that don't live in London/couldn't make it! Relief as 14 kids under 3 would have been impossible! It was a success though - the toddlers played happily (no tantrums ) and the babies were v. content. A is the only 1 crawling although his friend who was born on the same day as him gets around commando style! Am just facing the mountain of toys to put away... will do bath time first I think...

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/01/2008 18:11

Ange - J was fine, he has no idea who she is, I was there with him and to him it was just another smiley face.

Things getting slowly worse here, am going to start a thread to get the advice of the Social Workers that post on here, but I think I may have to call SS as I'm really not able to look after the boys as well as they deserve

OP posts:
elkiedee · 21/01/2008 18:18

Afternoon/evening all

Not sure how jolly D was today but the group cheered me up, and afterwards I finally got through to our insurer - they're sending a cheque tomorrow and I think the sum they're giving us will cover our costs even though the policy has a £50 excess. Most of the items are cheaper now than when we bought them, and none are more expensive.

NL/WO, thanks for asking and answering re pancakes, you've given me an idea.

WO, hope you sort out the work issues.

elkiedee · 21/01/2008 18:21

POTC, what's up? Hope you can get the social worker advice you need, but please don't beat yourself up.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/01/2008 18:30

I've started a new thread about it, my narcolepsy is getting worse and I just can't look after M properly

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 21/01/2008 18:44

Oh, POTC - hope someone can point you in the right direction sweetie. xxxxxxxx

NorthernLurker · 21/01/2008 18:45

POTC - have posted on your other thread

NorthernLurker · 21/01/2008 18:48

Good work with the insurance Elkie - and love the idea of D - the sombre baby - good that you enjoyed the group as well.
Re pancakes - well I made two lovely ones today - presented one with some blueberry puree stuff - in small pieces and me helping - roundly rejected. So Imade the second and rolled it up for her to eat with her hands - also roundly rejected - she quite deliberately dumped it on the floor!! So it will be try, try again on that one

oooggs · 21/01/2008 18:52

ellie - thinking of you and will bump up your thread (when I find it)
