Pesha · 20/01/2008 20:11

Dippy, I am NOT a Ho!

Oooggs - dd was a piece of cake to potty train, no problems at all, in nappies one day and out of them the next! DS1 was a nightmare and even once he was out of nappies there was quite a long time where he'd still go and pee on the floor somewhere But it can be easy - fingers crossed the dts are easier and all are babies are Although thats still forever and ever away, isnt it?!?!

Part of me is really at how quickly ds2 is growing up, being my last and all. But luckily theres also a part of me really loking forward to him being a little toddler and seeing what sort of person hes going to grow into! A loud one I think!!

Pesha · 20/01/2008 20:12

OUR babies are

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:15

Sorry for typo Pesha!

Pesha · 20/01/2008 20:23

Freudian slip perhaps...?

How are you?

NorthernLurker · 20/01/2008 20:24

Hi tili and everyone else

Oooggs - are you going to do an objection? Or is nursery doing a general one? Or both?

Dippy - love the lullaby - here is the second verse:

The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!

Sexonlegs · 20/01/2008 20:26

Evening.

NL, what a mammoth post! Hope you are all well oop North.

SPB, as others have said, things get easier in some respects, but there are always different challenges along the road.

CD, when you gonna test then????

Hi Pesha, or is that Ho Pesha!

Tili, lovely to see you. Blimey full time working and 2 children. No wonder you aren't on MN much!

Hi Oooggs, hope you and yours are ok.

All ok here. Had a lovely day out. Pub lunch and then to the beach for the afternoon.
Both dd's have been on top form as well.

How's everyone else ce soir?

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:26

Perhaps!!?

I'm ok , just tired - You??

Maveta · 20/01/2008 20:29

Hello! not got much time, expecting N to wake up at any moment and dh´s tendonitis is really hurting him so he´s being as useful as a chocolate teapot

Found out this pm that tomorrow is a local holiday (yay!) so texted my boss to check it was ok to take it (kind of a rhetorical question but a way of letting her know I wouldn´t be in). She obviously lets the london office have bank hols without question but whenever I say there is a holiday here she acts like they happen all the time and it´s a big inconvenience (tbh there´s as many, or less, than the uk). Also, because I work part time she sometimes implies that if there´s a hol on a day I work, I can just work another day that week to make it up

So this has effectively happened, she´s texted back to say fine but she ´really needs 3 days this week´ so can I work tues, thurs, fri instead.

I am really and no, I don´t want to, I don´t think that´s fair. and I don´t know how to say that. any ideas??

oooggs · 20/01/2008 20:32

maveta - what do you do? do you work in Spain but for someone in the uk?

Pesha · 20/01/2008 20:34

Tired too dippy - waiting for D to go to sleep. I keep thinking he is then he starts shoutiung again.

No advice on work I'm afraid Maveta, sounds crappy though and very unfair.

Sexonlegs · 20/01/2008 20:34

Maveta, surely if it is a local holiday, then no work. Can you say you have made plans and/or cannot get childcare??

elkiedee · 20/01/2008 20:37

Love the Mr Dippy/NL composition.

Hi Tili.

Maveta, don't know the answer but how mean.

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:40

@ NL's 2nd verse!

Eddas · 20/01/2008 20:45

hiya, havent' read thread yet.

My poor little man has a bug vomitted everywhere all night at mil's. They didn't call us though MIL sat up with him all night, bless her. Think she was enjoying the cuddles Apparently he didn't sleep much at all. He's really hot too. I picked them up at around 2.30 and he's been asleep in his cot since then. Think he's catching up and fighting off the bug.

Right, off to catch up

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:45

Maveta - meanies!! Would text back and say "No!"

Maveta · 20/01/2008 20:45

she can be very mean. yes I work for a mainly uk-based boss who has a company here and one in the uk. Like your suggestion SOL - think I´ll wait til the a.m. to reply and then just say I can´t work tues/ thurs cos no childcare. Things like this are such a PITA with my work/ boss.

Maveta · 20/01/2008 20:47

cd - but then she might say I have to work tomorrow! (which would be pretty pointless as everywhere else would be shut so I can´t really do many things)

I am experiencing very negative feelings right now.

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:49

Poor H, Eddas Can't believe your MIL didn't call yo, even if she didn't mind staying up with him. Did she administer Calpol or anything?? MY outlaws would NEVER sit up with my children EVER.

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:50

Think your boss is a poo head tbh.

Eddas · 20/01/2008 20:52

LOL at the nusery rhyme

Maveta, I get my bank holidays pro rata'd. I used to work wed/thurs so missed them all and told boss thought this was not quite right, so I asked what should happen. He worked it out (happened to agree to my workings too) and everytime there's a bank holiday I get 3 hours either off or as overtime. As I know work mon-wed it means I don't work mon but owe work an hour. Anyway hope that helps

Maveta · 20/01/2008 20:54

sorry for coming on with a rant and then doing a runner but going to head to bed in case we are in for another long one. sorry your babe isn´t well eddas, great MIL! hope he feels better soon, it´s rotten when they´re not well!

hope t came back from his walk a bit happier spb

hi tili!

hi everyone else too, will update tomorrow on poo head

Eddas · 20/01/2008 20:55

lol at poo head, FAR too much children time cd

She didn't give any medicine as he chucked everything back up, so not much point. I was kinda pleased she didn't call Not much point is she was happy to have him still. I was just a bit because last time they had him he came out in chicken pox

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 20:56

Night Maveta, ya beeee-yatch!

NorthernLurker · 20/01/2008 21:03

Hi SOL - yes we are all fine - had some rough nights with B but last night was a bit better and another tooth has appeared so hoping two are related!Sounds like you've had a super day - but beach in January? Brrrrrrrrr!

Maveta - I would text back that you have other commitments this week and that you can work extra hours next week, adjusting your salary accordingly!

StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2008 21:03

Hi everyone, nice to see you back Tili
Eddas sorry ds is ill
Maveta, yes, that seems really unfair, you should be , unless of course you'd get paid extra for effectively working a holiday??
Thanks everyone for the reassurances, I'm really hoping it gets easier once he can talk!
Am going to bed soon as well, he fell asleep on DH at 7.20! Luckily he'd just had a nappt change. Then woke at about 8.30, feed and straight back. So it's either going to be a very good night or a dreadful one. And I can't believe it's 9 already.
