I had a lovely evening at my friends house. Chinese takeaway and lots of gossipy (is that a word?) chat. Was fab!!
Off now to search for skechers trainers for ds. He has seen them on telly (bloody adverts) so am going to see if any shops stock them relatively locally! Have a lovely day all

mammyjo · 20/01/2008 10:10

Cd, how are you feeling today? Hope you are ok. Enjoy the parties

Sexonlegs · 20/01/2008 10:18

Morning MJ. Sounds like you had a great evening too!!

Luckily (?) we only watch CBeebies, so no adverts and nothing for B to want!!

elkiedee · 20/01/2008 10:22

Hope those of you who've gone/are going out enjoy yourselves.

Lovely news about Alice, CD, when will you get to meet her?

Another terrible night here and I'm worrying about dp and feeling so miserable myself. D was up 11 to 2, and then at 6.45 but in between threatened to wake several times. He's gone down for his mid morning nap but I just feel like dp and I are both completely losing it. dp does a lot, but I wish that instead of saying he'll take D like a martyr and then being able to hear him snapping at D, he'd talk to me more. There are times when dp takes D for breakfast and I don't get up because I can't bear dp's snappiness with us all when I do. And then of course I feel like a selfish bitch.

Pesha · 20/01/2008 10:49

Morning all Feeling fine thanks for asking - I dont get hangovers!!

Although my boobs were killing me and I kept waking up all through the night cos of them. Eventually decided I'd had enough at 9 and got up and pumped about 5oz which is a record for me, normally dont manage that over 2 pumps! And I could have got more but I got bored! So anyone know if the milk will be ok? I stopped drinking about half 8/ 9ish last night so will have been over 12 hours later, should be ok shouldnt it? Or we're out of milk so I could just have it myself on my cereal?!?

Sorry to hear about all the shit nights

But sounds like most people have nice days planned We're going MIL's to have lunch and collect kids. Think I might just go back to bed for an hour or so first...

'See' you all later.

StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2008 11:14

hi everyone
elkie, sorry to hear about your dreadful night
Pesha, no adcie sorry but lol at you having it on cereal.
I've been getting full fat milk for T and DH has been drinking it too, wouldn't normally have it in. My parents were here yesterday and I made a coffee for DH and my dad and said "as a treat, you've got Tristan milk in it" (mum won't let dad have full fat ) I could see my dad thinking "???????" so quickly told him it was just full fat cow's milk

2HotCrossBunnies · 20/01/2008 12:01

Morning all. Just checking in really. Sorry about the bad night Elkie. Me and DH were a little like that at times with DS1, haven't got the energy anymore!!

Am currently trying to persuade my boys to have their lunch - they are playing nicely and I'm loathe to interrupt them...

DH has gone windsurfing at Wittering today. We were all going to go to Shoreham (between Brighton and Worthing for those who don't know) as his parents have a beach hut there. Makes it so much easier with the boys! Anyway all the beaches along that strip of coast are shut. Apparently a tanker spilt its load of timber in the Channel and now it's all washing up. I didn't feel like a day on the beach with no shelter etc so DH has gone on his own. DS1 was quite disappointed bless him.

Right, crying baby...

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 13:50

Oooh, you must live relatively near me hotcross!

Sorry about the shit night, Elkie xx Could post a pic of your blanket on your profile - I have a friend who could copy it for you if you would like!!? Let me know.

Right off to my marathon of parties .......

oooggs · 20/01/2008 15:52

very quiet

StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2008 15:54

Hi ooggs
DH taken T for a walk, thankfully, he is so wingey today
Better get on
Only 4 hours and 6 minutes till bedtime

oooggs · 20/01/2008 16:03

katy - its hard isn't it? broken sleep, night feeds and early mornings - I'm getting a bit sick of it.

My parents have just arrived to play with the children [hurray] & dh is working

StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2008 17:01

Yes, I'm glad it's not just me, does it get easier as they get older?

mammyjo · 20/01/2008 17:43

SPB, it does get easier in the sense that they don't cry all the time as they can tell you what the matter is. They also become a little more self sufficient and not quite so reliant on you. That said, each stage throws up its own crapness! Think temper tantrums, the why? phase, the NO phase etc etc

mammyjo · 20/01/2008 17:47

Meant to say that with ds I definitely found the baby stage the hardest, he is much easier nowadays

NorthernLurker · 20/01/2008 18:08

Hello all

Right have finally got long enough on the pc to catch up properly - be warned - I've taken notes!

(Rolls up sleeves and cracks knuckles)

Runny - love the pics re the clamping

Oooggs - oh dear re the new centre next door to nuresry - what stage are the plans at? Time to object?

Eddas - A big Hurrah for shopping time without dcs

SPB - B does the hummingbird thing too - cute but annoying And re phones - our upstairs one is permanently on mute atm.

GMM - good for you going for the Great North Run!

Maveta - 8-1 doesn't sound great - but could you talk to a mum whose baby already goes and see how she has found it? We've been having rotten nights too - teething sucks! Your new hair is fab though! The situation with your mil sounds very hard.

Hi 2HotCrossBunnies!

Mammyjo - what a shame about pay - any progress working out if they're right about being wrong?

Pesha - love new pictures

Pinions - sympathy re teething - see above. What have work done to cock things up? Keep us up to date with the very, very vague possibility

WO - looked at the stats thread and noticed B and C have the same birthday - and weighed the same at birth!! RE the sick note - in NHS we always give your annual leave back if you are certified sick when you would have been off so you don't lose it.

Dippy - excited about the pg possibility - when are you going to test - and do you need us to be on-line during this?!? Have you heard about the sleeping bunny thing - basically a sleepy bunny alram clock and you teach the child that they can only get up when bunny is awake - which is whatever time you set it for. Worked really well with my friends 3 yr old - who was getting up at 5.30 till then!

Octo - chatty nurse during smear test v uncalled for in my opinion! Supply teaching sounds like a good decision.

Elkie - how about the blankets - and much sympathy for the bad nights. We've been struggling here too - though last night was a bit better so praying for an improvement! Will include all the April babies in that

POTC - the situation re J meeting the new g/friend sounds very hard - hope things get easier. re playpen

SOL - pub lunch sounds lovely!

Hello and apologies to anyone I've missed!

Ok - knackered now and all the girls need fed and bathed so better pop off. See you later!

Pesha · 20/01/2008 18:20

Lol at Tristan milk

I think as they get older they get less physically tiring but more mentally tiring. With dd and ds1 I dont have to run round after them or stop them escaping, climbing and running off etc but its demands and whinging and arguing and non stop talking and questions and defiance and...

Just got home and my freezer door wasnt shut properly. Most stuff ok but top drawer was worst affected which was where all my pots of veg cous cous for Dyaln were. He's just had one thing now for tea and think it will also be his lunch and dinner tomorrow and the next day!! Not really ideal but there is loads of veg, chick peas, beans etc in it and I might mix some other things with it to give it a slightly different taste each time so he doesnt get bored of it!

I am so tired. Took dogs for a walk with MIL and D slept in pushchair for about half an hour at 4 ish so prob not gonna go to sleep till 9 ish. Although hes all full of cold so might make him more tired and go to sleep earlier, or I hope so anyway. Last night he slept from half 7 til 7 for Mil which is fab, hoping it might encourage them to have him more often!

Tili · 20/01/2008 19:00

Hi ladies long time no see

Hope all is well. I have probably missed so much!

I have started working full time so havent had any mumsnet time .

All is well here Beth doing really well at school. Alex is coming on really well he sits up unaided claps to music and gives high fives !! hes turning out to be quite a character I have a feeling he is going to be a bit of a cheeky monkey.

So what have I missed? I wasnt even going to attempt to do a catch up as there has been so many threads !!

take care all xxxx

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 19:36

Hello everyone!

Would you like to hear DH's new lullaby for the children ......

"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a gablin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"

Think he might be getting to the end of his tether!

Pesha · 20/01/2008 19:37

Hi Tili Good to see you again.

The first post of the this thread gives an update of the most recent events.

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2008 19:54

Ho Pesha!

oooggs · 20/01/2008 20:05

hi tili

katy - ds1 is much easier than dts as he normally sleeps all night, can talk to me, is out of nappies (potty training = hell), will eat anything, can dress himself and goes to nursery 3 days a week

whereas dts don't sleep through, need feeding, changing, dressing, cry and you don't know why etc.....

each phase bring its own good and bad points (except for potty training - all I can think of is bad (- hope dts are easier!!!)

NL - objections to be in by wednesday
