Nice here eh? Seven is a lovely magic number.

DD has horrible cough off DH. They are both hacking away like nanny goats so our house is rather noisy and I s'pose I'll have to get it too, sooner or later. A real workout for the immune system at 6 months anyway.

Think maybe my purees were a little bit lumpy for DD. She really went for the bought stuff I gave her today, and I was quite reassured. Anyone actually tried the Hipp apple and blueberry? So tasty I could have it on toast , no probs.

Georgina hope your hands, feet and mouths are OK.

Twiglett you are a rascal... sleeping through eh? what on earth is she thinking of?

Think I would rather miss my little overnight fixes of DD if she didn't remind me of her presence every 3 hours or so.

She was probably half asleep Spots

A slightly lower temperature is NOTHING to worry about ... it doesn't come up anywhere and I've specifically asked 2 doctors about it and its nothing .. it can be symptomatic of fighting a viral illness .. I understand how scary it can be 'cos DS had a 2 degree lower than normal temp and it freaked me out

I think I'd just check on her in an hour or so

don't freak out too much

assume she's not off her milk / food at the moment?

Libb · 04/01/2005 21:46

Spots, you would know better when to worry thank anyone. Give them a ring, it won't hurt and then you will be reassured.

Twiglett · 04/01/2005 21:46

Babies can sleep with their eyes open (like little possessed things )

Libb · 04/01/2005 21:47

Sorry Twiglett, you know us first time mums!

spots · 04/01/2005 21:49

I did wonder if it was a baby equivalent of sleepwalking, both DH and ithought she seemed ghosty... yes will check her again before ringing NHSdirect...

An "experienced" mum's freak-out at lower than normal temperature

see

Libb · 04/01/2005 21:53

Just let us know how things go won't you? I must admit that DS does that half shut eye thing and his eyes still follow me around even then so fingers crossed that is the same thing.

These babies are a real test of nerves aren't they?!

Libb · 04/01/2005 21:55

thank you Twiglett, these sort of things are just the icing on the cake aren't they? blimey . . .

Spots, hope you are all okay - do let us know?

spots · 04/01/2005 22:09

she's sleepin' like a baby atm and the mattress set up in her room looks comfy so I shall chill out for now... thanks you two xxxxxx

he socialises so well and is not scared of anybody! and believe you me, we met many people so far!

happy birthday to me
happy birthday to me......

ahem

GeorginaA · 05/01/2005 10:00

Meant to say. Ds2 can now sit upright for quite long periods of time.

Only problem is, he can also thud back down again without warning, cunningly avoiding any cushions and 9 times out of 10 connecting the back of his head with a hard rattle too.

Dread to think how many braincells he's lost over the last 3 days

GeorginaA · 05/01/2005 10:00

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EGYPT!

The thirties are good, trust me

Twiglett · 05/01/2005 10:05

sorry egypt .. I had thread open then had to deal with DD so didn't see you there

Happy Birthday

Gosh you're young

egypt · 05/01/2005 10:17

let u off twiglett!

yes dd is much worse at sitting! simply because she has learned to hurl herself towards objects of interest and land on her face. i'm forever picking her back up now. and we dont do tummies very well.

spots · 05/01/2005 12:39

Happy Birthday Egypt! Now you know what your mother went through thirty years ago today...

hope you have a lovely lovely day. special kiss x and thirty birthday candles:

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

DD is much better this morning, thank you so much for your concern all of you. She still looks really pale with shadows under her eyes but for the first time in a couple of days woke up happy, not wailing. Last night she slept uncharacteristically well from 9.45 till 5.30, then more sleep after a feed. Sleep is such a cure. DH and I think she needs a bit of meat today for protein so he has taken her to the butchers. (It is so nice to have him at home; will be miserable when he goes back to work next Monday.) She is not big on meat but then she's not big on anything much, just fruit.

Happy Birthday Egypt

Spots I found that my DD loved chicken and papaya pureed together. Somehow doubt you happen to have a papaya laying around but another fruit might do the trick.

DD was only 18lb 1oz. . Egypt we had one of those seats for DS after the nightmare trip to Cornwall but it broke after a couple of years and was also getting on the small side - do not think it would have fitted a 4yo in winter clothing so we replaced it with a high back booster with integral seat belt. Which means that we once DD gets to the 20 lb we will have to fork out for another car seat because we only have the maxi cosi priori available. And DH is due to change cars in June so will have to do some sorting out of which car seat fits which car.

Judd · 05/01/2005 13:00

Spots - glad DD is feeling better. Sorry to toss AK into the equation, but there is a lentil recipe of hers that seems to go down a treat with DS if you wanted something protein-y but not meat-y. I'll post it if you like, just give me the old nod and a

Judd · 05/01/2005 13:00

And happy birthday, young Egypt!

Bozza · 05/01/2005 13:02

Have to confess the chicken and papaya is also AK.

Twiglett · 05/01/2005 13:05

Bozza .. that sounds like a good weight .. why ?

GeorginaA · 05/01/2005 13:09

Judd: ds2 had that Lovely Lentils for lunch today! I swear his head nearly folded backwards to open his mouth wide enough...

Bozza · 05/01/2005 13:38

Its not really a problem at all twiglett - just slightly over the 50%ile so fairly ideal I suppose. Its just that I was hoping to swap her into the next car seat soon. Partly because she is not happy in the baby one and partly because I find it increasingly difficult to carry her in it (along with two bags and supervising DS) out of nursery. Have to take it in because DH does drop off and I do pick up. On non-work days we tend to leave it in the car.
