I've done all mine nahnahnannanah!

Dh in a srop. He bought me a sat nav for christmas and has been fiddling around with it and arsed it up! Oh dear!

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 21:26

ours doesn't, you have to order online to get it delivered, and that takes all the fun away

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 21:27

at Mr SOL, Why is it men insist on fiddling instead of reading the instructions?!

KneehighinYellowSnow · 21/12/2007 21:28

Hello again, I would just like to say to everyone thank you for reading my post, at the time I wrote it I was unaware that norma had started that other thread, I have read the thread and I do honestly think she has made a rod for her own back, Ihave also spoken to her dh this afternoon and her and I think prehaps with the support that has been offered it will help her make some important canges and get her the help that she needs.

As for everyone who didn't feel that they could offer support I completly understand where you are all coming from and I hope that my post earlier has not effected the way this group functions as a whole, I didn't want to cause any friction or rifts between us as this is such an important support network for all of us.

I love you all and hope you have a FANTASTIC christmas

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 21:31

good bye!"

weewishyouamerryonion · 21/12/2007 21:45

hi folks! what a strange day on the thread - runny - you are a star! i love that there is goat out there on behalf of us! may it be a good milker and bring much happiness wherever it is! we all know that our other pet has spread much love and chocolate biscuits whenever we needed them!
happy birthday MAV - hope you hada lovely one.
NGT - how are you?
IMBM - car is a shocker but glad you seem so sanguine about it all. x

It seems that this has been quite a day for some of our april group. I agree that MN and this thread has been a lifeline for me - right from the early days and fears of pg through sharing our bubba hopes and dreams (& possible names!). i remember following all our our labours and birth stories andcelebrating each new arrival. it felt like a privelge to be part of them all in a way. i was lucky enouhgto have klaw andlulamama amongst others talking me through my early labour and i was excited to post about it here. if it hadnt been for this thread - I would not have been able to bf this long or feel ok at times about being a mum. I have had pnd - and it has felt that sometimes here has been the only place i had let all the shit out. I would hope that i have never used my pnd as a justification or reason for doing things that were unkind or hurtful to others.
i suppose like eddas has said - you have to take everyone as they present. i have been lucky enough to meet some lovely people out in RL from here - gmm, liath, luce (and others from other threads too.)
I would hate that a thread that has done so much good for people be torn apart at this stage but equally folks shouldnt be forced to take sides nor just pretend their feelings dont exist. I know alot of contact and support has been offered through other means - msn, emials, phonecalls , facebook and there is no reason why that cant continue. I cant be annoyed with wasting more time, space and energy on this whole sorry affair and tbh - nor do i have any wish to be further involved in the voyeuristic gazing from the sidelines.

as pinions said - we all have our own families to think about. this is our baby's first xmases and after what happened to one of the April mums - (vio) and her wee boy - we have alot to be thankful for.
4 sleeps to go- and i am dreaming of snow. we took C to see santa today - she squealed with delight and i realised this is really just the beginning of many happy memeories ahead.

good night folks. x

iMustBeMad · 21/12/2007 21:47

how is it being home WO?

weewishyouamerryonion · 21/12/2007 21:51

being home is fab - truly lovedup but of course - that will last til sunday wheni have my head in my hands going
"nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

good job that dp arrives on monday by which stage we will all be Brady Bunching it for his benefit

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 22:14

Hi WO and everyone else

Just read my posts back - and when I talked about the possibility of offering support I actually meant away from this thread - via e-mail and so forth. Can't believe I didn't actually say that - sorry! I absolutely didn't mean that this thread should or would feature posts that made anyone unhappy or uncomfortable.
Will shut up now.

KneehighinYellowSnow · 21/12/2007 22:16

Right does anyone know what is better for the flu calpol or calporfen?
My dd1 has already woken up twice tonight and is running a very high temp, I gave her some calpol at about 7 so if she wakes up again around 11 do i give her calpol again or calprofen?

leakythesnowman · 21/12/2007 22:17

Quick hello.

My pc has been broken for 10 days which is why I've not been around. Made a vague attempt at catching up (after IMBM tempted me to peep from facebook) but the thread is toooooooo looooooooooong.

Going to bed now. Will be back tomorrow. Missed you all

OOOOH hang on and I'm moving to Manchester!Basically DH has got a promotion in Manchester and they've offered us a relocation package. His company will value the flat and guarantee us the valuation price so we don't need to sell before we move. They will then pay for solicitors fees, removals, surveys etc. It's such a relief to know we won't have months of hardly seeing him while we try and sell the flat in Leeds.

Def going to bed now [knackered emoticom]

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 22:18

is calprofen ibuprofen without any paracetamol? If so then I would give it then you can give calpol a couple of hours after if needed. Obviously if it contains paracetamol you can't do that.

Or you can just let the fever rage - that's what one m'netter was adovocating the other week

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 21/12/2007 22:18

Oooooooooh Leaky - that's brill!!!!

The job not the computer obviously

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 21/12/2007 22:19

Lovely post WO. Summed things up beautifully.

Off to bed now, night all xxx

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 21/12/2007 22:21

Sorry x posted a lot there.

Lovely news Leaky, glad you are ok.

KHIN, alternate the paracetamol and ibuprofen for best effect at controlling temp. I did this with ds and still struggled to keep temp down though

KneehighinYellowSnow · 21/12/2007 22:22

NL-let the fever rage I was up from 11pm till 5am last night with dd1, think I shall stick to the medicine and try and get some sleep, as being knackered and dealing with millions of kids is no fun

weewishyouamerryonion · 21/12/2007 22:24

NL - i wasnt getting at you in any way in my other post!
leaky - fab fab fab news! that eases the pressure a bit for you re the house sale. how do you feel about moving to manchester?? do we have any other manc mums on this thread???

weewishyouamerryonion · 21/12/2007 22:26

khin - sorry i cant offer any support re meds... hmmmmmmm - maybe follow that mammyj suggests? we have been lucky that c hasnt been poorly as yet - never had to use the calpol, medised etc that is carred everywhere with me just in case!

KneehighinYellowSnow · 21/12/2007 22:33

MJ- Did the ibuprofen help relieve the pain at all, the reason dd1 keps waking up is because she is in pain aching etc and the calpol just dosn't seem to be doing much for her, I know I was feeling like hell when I had the flu a couple of weeks ago so I can't even imagen how my little tot feels
