Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bethoo · 03/01/2008 21:48

Diva - that is why i did not put it on my profile. i have told 3 of the blokes i am chatting to and tbh i was hoping to scare some away but to no avail they are all still interesteed. currently talking ot a 32 year old policeman, a 22 year old American gym instructor, 24 year old from Readingand a 20 odd soldier. so managing 4 simultaneous conversations at the mo! did not go to bed til after 1 last night!!! it is fun.
i just lovethe taste of Vimto though!! Ribena better?

MerryPIFFLEmas · 03/01/2008 21:49

Finn makes such a mess when eating we now bath him every night in the kithen sink. Straight transfer.
Tonight though he wolfed last nights beef casserole and mash which was satisfying. No doubt there will be carroty poo tomorrow
Am 80/20 using cloth nappies now

The sleeping thrugh continued last night with him going 11-8.50am

He is being complete pain in the arse about the indoor washing linme though
Every day I hang out and unload from it with him crawling around nearby
About 65 x he has tried to climb on it and bringing it down on himself, he rolls and screams and then I have to restart as all my washing is kaput.

Driving me beyond the mind of reason.
Today I shook it as he was getting on it as he will not usually climb on unstable things.

I lost my rag and took him him off and shouted GET OFF It you numpty at him and he went mental.

Dp thought I'd hit him luckily dd was there to confirm mummy had just yelled. Have had firm words with DP who knows I have never smacked the kids.
So now I just plonk him in his cot with 1000000000000000000 toys and hope that entertains him long enough....

ooh have mum here and tomorrow EX p his missus and their 5 wk old baby are coming to stay the night (bringing ds1 back from staying with them)

Busy busy

Right have waffled on long enough...

foxcubinapeartree · 03/01/2008 22:32

Oiff LOL at Finn climbing and pulling your washing down. naughty little beastie

Bethoo which one do you like the best out of the men?

can you tell I have no social life of my own, so can I enjoy yours by proxy pleeeze!

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 10:39

Diva I don't have the 'I can make you thin' one. The one I have is about changing your life and if I get round to it, I could use the visualisation excercises to adjust to the idea of being a stone smaller. as it is I eat LOADS everyday and stay the same weight. as soon as i stop stuffing my face the weight immediately starts to drop off, so losing the weight won't be hard once I can convince myself to stop eating so much

We have so much snow here, it is brilliant. Last night at 10.30 ds1 and I made a snowman and this morning dd and ds2 flattened him spoilsports, I'll have to make another bigger one later

kittywise · 04/01/2008 11:04

Lucky you with the snow rosy. It's 10 degrees warmer here today than yesterday. We had snow fall yesterday but it didn't settle. I don't get how it can go up 10 degrees in one day

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 12:02

Kitty you are quite near the sea aren't you?
Dh is on the coast and it is just bitterly cold and windy there.

We are having a ball, laughing at helping to push the stuck cars, and throwing snowballs. No one talks to each other all winter usually but everyone is chatting about the snow.

bethoo · 04/01/2008 12:08

Foxy - i like the guy from Reading. also the policeman but i do not find him attractive though nice personality. also started chatting to a fireman from Belfast.
i did not get to bed til 2 this morning as uploading pics on to fb and chatting to men! Sean wants to see me today but i need to clean the house as been neglected since i bought lap top home! and quite happy talking to virtual men!
Rosy - i find the best way to lose weight esp if you do not exercise 9though you may)is to eat salads and i know it sounds dull but i slap loads of mayo on 9ok according to Dr Atkins!!!). honestly you get used to it. i have been on salads since new years day and feel good already, my waist is starting to become more defined.
How are the teething babies? i spend my whole time picking crusties from his nose as he gets a snotty nose with teethiing. he has 4 on top and 3 at the bottom.

foxcubinapeartree · 04/01/2008 12:33

Rosy of all your snow and snow related fun. We had same pathetic snow as Kitty yesterday - it virtually metled before it reached the ground.

Talking of virtual - Bethoo LOL at your "virtual men" . I agree about the Salads too - the weight drops of me too if I eat raw food - it kind of bulks up more than cooked food so you eat less of it don't You?

Monti has 6 teeth - 4 up top and two cute ones below. He climbed up an entire flight of stairs just now and then wanted to climb down face first. Am training him to go bum first.

kittywise · 04/01/2008 13:34

Ronnie has no teeth

Get you bethoo, very exciting, you've got to get a good catch amoungst that lot surely?

kiwibella · 04/01/2008 13:52

[grin ] Piffle... Kate helps out with the washing too - as I put it on, she pulls it off!!

Monti climbed the stairs?!?!?!

We missed the snow yesterday We heard reports of it around the southern edges of London but none arrived out East. It is very early this year.

Interesting talk about salads. I love salads but don't feel full afterwards. mmmm... home cooked naan!! I usually pick up a packet at the supermarket but I'll give it a go. Well, hubs is the adventurous cook here so I'll mention it to him. MissE has been cooking this week and loving it... simple stuff like spag bol and pasta carbonnara. Hubs got a couple of cook books for Chrissy and they get in the kitchen a create!!

How exciting Bethoo!! Even if nothing comes of it, it will be fun to meet new friends... and friends come with more friends

MerryPIFFLEmas · 04/01/2008 13:53

Foxy am in process of teaching finn to go downstairs backwards
Ok he's got that but slides rather quickly rigid, which he loves until he bumps his chin...

bethoo · 04/01/2008 14:11

if you have salads you should always have protein with it like chicken, tuna or ham and cheese is a nice one as it is the protein that fills you up and you can eat as many vegetables as you like. honeslty theweight just drops off as most veges have zero calories! my abs are starting to show through because i am losingthe fat around my tummy.
Hayden toppled over in his little push car jobby and bit his lip so it looks as though i have punched him wiht his swollen blood crusty lip! was afraid to take him out incase i was reported!!
my house is a mess, really must get off my bum!
last day on holiday as back to work on monday!
hope everyone is well.

foxcubinapeartree · 04/01/2008 14:26

LOL at Finn sliding down stairs - I recall DS1 doing that and really enjoying it while I had heart attacks!!!

We have changed Monti's name to "Mini-Beast" BTW, due to the strange grunting and growling noises he is making!

...oh yes agree about the protien and salads - fish is a good one too - very low cal. I also eat those Slimfast choc chunk bars when I'm really hungry as they are very filling and can keep me feeling full for hours. I've done no walking since Monday as I'm too fluey and ill

bethoo · 04/01/2008 15:48

Foxy - i usually have a protein shake with a piece of fruit for brekkie. i ma going to see if they make good vodka replacements on a friday night!

i bought Hayden some scampi which is made from languistine which turns out to be like a prawn, a member of the lobster family. do you think it will be ok for him to have? i cant eat it cos of the breadcrumbs. no one in my family that i am aware is allergic ot seafood but if there is a risk i will wait, theya re in date wil 2009!!!

i freak when Hayden goes near the stairs, bad enough that one minute he is sat up hte next he has leaned so far back he has overbalanced and the next minute there is a thud and lots of tears. concerned about the little falls, should i be worried about long term damage or something?

muppetisacat · 04/01/2008 17:50

very at snow too rosy!

god i hate this stage of mobility - i spend my life picking Samuel up off the floor after a fall... he is constantly pulling things out of places, emptying cupboards, trying to reach things he has no business reaching.... GAAARRRGGGGHHHH... he has no sense... same as ds1..

... now dd... she was a dream... don't even think i needed plug socket covers!

LunarSea · 04/01/2008 18:06

Piffle - ds1 used to do that, come down stairs feet first, on his tummy, with arms and legs held up in the air so as not to get in the way. It looked a bit like superman in reverse!

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 18:49

eh? salad? SALAD? in snowy winter? (barf) all my leaves are going rotten in the fridge while I tuck into fried potato, fried egg and reduced mincepies (reduced in price not in fat)

Hasan is climbing stairs too if we leave the gate off for two seconds.

I have gone arty mad I'm painting every chance I get, totally neglecting the children and the house is a tip. Also busting to write....I was trying to wait until the children are bigger but I can't hold it in. I've exploded in a colourfull splat of bonkers art work . I'm one of those artists who is really slightly insane....

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 18:50

Oh Lunar, I was wondering how you were doing I bet Toby is nearly walking!

bethoo · 04/01/2008 18:54

Rosy - what type of art do you do?

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 19:01

Well I started painting on a plain wooden shelf the other night and I am doing a big giant water colour/drawing on paper of faces and the abstract messy insides of my mind.
There is paint all over the kitchen and all over the children It really isn't practical. oh well.

bethoo · 04/01/2008 19:21

Rosy - that sounds fun. i wish i was creative and talented artisticly like you. why not put some of your workon your profile?

foxcubinapeartree · 04/01/2008 19:41

Rosy Belfast has been on the news for all the right reasons today - 18cm of snow!!

Am fantasising about commissioning you to do a pic for us. We have a painting on canvas of lots of Indian women on swings which I am thinking of getting painted over. Its nice but quite dark and dingy. I bet you'd be a good writer! What do you want to write? Is there a writers thread on here yet?

Muppet - my DS's have both been crazy too, stuffing everything into their mouths, raging around like testosterone filled little mini-beasts. DD was always really sensible and low maintenance.

Bethoo - PMSL at the Vodka substitues

Ooops gotta go - mini-beast has awoken!

Divastrop · 04/01/2008 20:49

all this talk of stari-climbing!Elsie just lays at the bottom of them having a hissy fit.it wont be long though,im sure.

dd1 and 2 were never like that.dd2 would just sit at the top of the stairs waiting for me to carry her down untill she was 100% sure she could get down safely by herself.

ive never had socket covers or anything like that.as for the washing, that gets put straight in the dryer anyway and thers a safety gate on the kitchen(far more practical than putting locks on all the cupboards).dd2 is only interested in the crisp cupborad and the fridge anyway.
Elsie still has 2 teeth at the bottom and 4 just about to come through at the top.its groundhog day in her gob.

bethoo-have you arranged to meet anyone yet?that's the most exciting part

rosy-i appear to have lost 4lb.my appetite is returning to normal now the crappy drugs have been reduced.i too can normally stuff my face and stay the same weight(probably due to my inability to keep still),so if i just stop eating cakes and chocolate then the weight comes off.i think ive become immune to the yoga though so have ordered another excersise dvd from amazon.its another 10 minute workout one which i have found are great for my concentration level.

bethoo-@being able to see your abs.i could lose 2 stone and do an hour of tummy-toning every night and i would still have droopy skin covering the tight muscles!

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 21:55

I might eventually put up some pictures of my work but not yet- it's just crazy stuff and nothing to be shown off . But it does feel great to be painting. I have a half written book lying around too.
Whether I ever make any money from my creative efforts is another matter though

The snow is melting now but I suppose it'll freeze tonight and be lethal tomorrow.

Diva I think you might lose that stone before me then

Rosylily · 04/01/2008 21:59

Foxy there was a writers thread a while back, loads of mumsnetters want to be writers and some of them are already published and had some tips etc. Also there was a thread of artists a while back which was interesting.
