Ok have spent far too much of the night googling a famous ex! damn bloody thread, but I resisted posting on it! made me go an d look though.....he's last heard of drumming for Thin Lizzy! so probably still is nice guy, although professionally slightly ruthless, which some ex bandmates and a manager are still pissed off at apparently (get over it, was over 10 years ago!)
Best go to bed then.

EachPeachPearMum · 12/01/2008 00:20

The book I read was 'The Highly Sensitive Child' by Elaine Aron - took me ages to find it as they've changed the cover from the copy I read -had to ring the library, and ask them to look in my borrowing history.

The author also has a website.

Don't know if its any use to anyone, but it helped us a bit, and although its American, it wasn't too cloying

mustmakeyouamanmore · 12/01/2008 09:01

I want a famous ex! Closest I can come in almost shagging the real life Dad of an ex hollyoaks actress Er, and being married to a man who's seen lots of famous people in their undies!

How you doing Falme? I did reply to your emails last night, but, as I said, prob not very well.I need mullimg time to I can express my self coherently!

Frizbe · 12/01/2008 10:19

So I got woken up at 5am by dd2 who had once again crawled into bed with me un-noticed at sometime prior to then dd2 was waking up, rubbing her eyes and started shouting 'daddy' which she then continued to shout for the next half hour, whilst running from room to room upstairs, whilst dd1 and I kept shouting at her from our beds, 'daddy's in York' She evenutally gave up and came back to my bed for a cuddle, then dd1 joined us.....dd2 fell asleep again at 6.15 so I dozed till 7, whilst dd1 managed to get herself washed and dressed (only woke me to squeeze the toothpaste ) any more ungodly night wakings on the thread then?

Deposited the kids at meridians this am, she made us all pancakes for breakfast (star!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/01/2008 15:21

No night wakings, but up before 7 despite not going to bed until 10:15 . She didn't fall asleep on the way back from swimming as expected, so she is just now feeding to sleep on my lap.

I had to come back from a drinks party at a neighbours to change her nappy and feed her, whilst dh has stayed there getting drunk and chatting. I didn't even get to relax much whilst I was there, as I was frequently checking on or entertaining dd, so I missed the crux of most conversations .

DontDreamItBeIt · 12/01/2008 17:26

Hi,

I'm not ignorning you all, and I did get your email and read it Flame (will reply but probably not as eloquantly as mrm).
Very busy at home, stressing over beroom furniture. I'll hopefully have things sorted and be back soon.

mustmakeyouamanmore · 12/01/2008 20:32

Intrigued as to how you can stress over bedroom furniture....

DontDreamItBeIt · 12/01/2008 20:38

We have decided that since the sofa bed is quite comfortable, we will move downstairs and let dd1 have her room now(ish) She needs a bed, lots of storage and ideally a desk in a room 6' x8'. I keep finding things which are out of stock, or dp rejects, and he has decided to make everything. As if he doesn't have enough to do. She will end up with what he wants instead of what I hik she needs.

He also told me there was no point bothering that much as by the time she is 15 she will hate it and leave home

On the plus side, all the ceilings are plastered, and I've painted the bedroom one.

mustmakeyouamanmore · 12/01/2008 20:45

Plastered is good
Well, obv I'm rubbish and cant think of 6x8 in my hed.I'd prob favour the build-your-own, but somehow guarantee total control of the design. I'd keep it simple, and provide dh ith a drwaing with measurements on. Then sit at length with him. But thats just my controlling side

Would 6 by 8 not fit a midi sleeper with a desk at right angles and a chest of drawers for the other part of the underside? Then kitchne cupboards high along the top of some walls, touching the ceiling (thinking the ones that open up like a hatch), with a hanging rail under some of them for things that need hanging (not alot in our house ) Lots of pegs on back of door.Wooden box in corner for storage of tings that dont get used much, so could b covered with a cloth for dressingtable/telly or whatever?

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/01/2008 20:58

Plastered is not so good when it refers to your dh . We went back to join them at the party, taking a book and some drawing stuff to try and keep dd occupied a bit. Also took a tube of pringles, which kept her occupied better than anything else . Came home at 6pm and by 10 past dh was trying to fall asleep on the sofa, leaving me to sort dinner and dd again . He's now gone to bed as he was snoring so loudly on the sofa.

More because he knows that I'm prob ovulating today, so we miss a chance to conceive.

I was thinking one of those raised beds with wardrobe and drawer space built in underneath, and then a desk and bookshelves on the other side. A friend had one when I was young, but never see them quite like it these days - sure dp could make one though.

Frizbe · 12/01/2008 21:33

CSWS I was also thinking of a bed like that/ikea loft space type bed thing, you know with either a desk or storage under it, we've done that in ss's room. I reckon you should kindly wake dh up later have a few baileys and go for it girl

Jas for plaster anyway.

All in bed here, dd2 only took half hour to get to stay in bed and go to sleep tonight....

Flame how's things today?

mustmakeyouamanmore · 12/01/2008 21:37

Flame is feeling calmer

Frizbe · 12/01/2008 21:52
Smile
EachPeachPearMum · 13/01/2008 00:16

mrm- why has dh seen people in underwear?

friz- we had an ikea loft bed in our appartment- they are great, and good use of space

flame- hope you're ok

saw 2 schools today, am more confused than ever!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/01/2008 08:04

Was it your number 1 and 2 choices you went to? More details (on email) please!

mrm's dh works for madame Tussauds, hence the voyeurism.

mustmakeyouamanmore · 13/01/2008 08:15

Dh wants ro strrss that itsonly voyuerism when its a girl, and eveb then he's the heiht of professionalism

FlameNFurter · 13/01/2008 17:03

I'm sorry - I had no internet yesterday!!

I am much more sane now. I have replied to all who emailed apart from MRM because that involves more concentration than I can give with children around!

You are all fabulous I very much doubt I could have found a group with this amount of support for my insanity in rl. Although I probably wouldn't have told a rl group this much about myself

Phoenix · 13/01/2008 17:37

Hello, i'd better post cos its about to slip from my threads i'm off again

Flame - glad you're feeling better

Jas - for plastering ceilings. I would say a cabin bed with a desk under or a high cabin bed with wardrobe under.

What is everyone getting their lo's for their birthday? I think me and dh are pretty much agreed we are getting Lew this

Hope everyone's ok

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/01/2008 17:49

You know you can set 'threads I'm on' to last longer don't you Phoenix?

Either this or this for dd.

Phoenix · 13/01/2008 18:25

Ooo they look good csws. I looked at a 'my first bike' with a parent handle for Lew and he had a go on 1 in Mothercare today but as you push it along the pedals go round and kept bashing his legs cos he wouldn't keep his feet on the pedals.

Phoenix · 13/01/2008 18:30

This is the My First Bike from Mothercare. I'm gonna spend all night looking for a cheaper one of those bikes now csws instead of a babyish looking trike

FlameNFurter · 13/01/2008 18:44

I like the first on CSWS

Frizbe · 13/01/2008 18:44

Oooh I'm liking the 1st one CSWS
I think we may be getting her one of these
www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3672088/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006108.Toys%2Band%2Bgames%3EC% 24cip%3D1500006186.Bikes%2Band%2Boutdoor%2Btoys%3EC%24cip%3D1500006197.Trampolines.htm as she happily bounces on the one at tumble tots. If I go for one of the ones with a handle on, dd1 and friends will want to go on at the same time or I could just bite the bullett and get the £99 junior enclosure one, but then ss won't be able to go on it, as he's too big = another problem..... what do you guys think I should do?

Frizbe · 13/01/2008 18:45

mind you I also like CSWS's like a bike, the 1st one looks great

Frizbe · 13/01/2008 18:47

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3671711/Trail/C%24cip%3D1500006108.Toys%2Band%2Bgames%3EC% 24cip%3D1500006186.Bikes%2Band%2Boutdoor%2Btoys%3EC%24cip%3D1500006197.Trampolines.htm this trampoline! trouble is, when we've finished with the garden, there really won't be room for it if we do stick a conservatory on that is......(my distant plans!)
