here

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 05/01/2008 20:41

Dd still up, and showing no signs of dozing off on my lap like she did last night. Am clearly going to end up with no evening to myself .

I have no idea re birthday mrm. I still haven't chosen anything for my parents to buy me for my birthday last August!

One of our trees has got as far as the patio Friz. The other will hopefully go out tomorrow.

Frizbe · 05/01/2008 20:44

you had more than one tree CSWS I must have missed that one.
MRM I've attempted a few ideas for you
dd2 just fished out of the bathroom here, sat on floor reading, looked up at me in a, 'well this is ok isn't it mum' way, as I took her to bed, removed book and shut door, whilst telling her off

Frizbe · 05/01/2008 20:45

right I'm off to bug dh, catch ya laters x

mustmakeyouamanmore · 05/01/2008 20:45

Ah, but only one had baubles [wink

FlameNFurter · 05/01/2008 23:50

come see!

EachPeachPearMum · 06/01/2008 01:19

Flame- have you made that yourself, or from a kit?
Its very dinky!

Had a lovely eve out with rl post-natal group, was lovely catching up now babies are no longer babies

tired

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/01/2008 08:44

I didn't make it out yesterday. The girls played out in the street all day, and it seemed silly to stop them to go out and spend lots of money.

It did mean I didn't get anything much done.I wanted o supermarket shop, but dp didn't want me out as he was working upstairs and I didn't want him to stop working.
In the end he did the shopping later, took ds with him, who went to sleep in the trolly and was therefore up til 10.30 again, and I stayed home.
He managed to spend £25 more then he needed o

mustmakeyouamanmore · 06/01/2008 08:55

Hows it all going then? How far through the entire rebuild do you reckon you are?

We stayed in all day too. Literally in. Not even into the garden. Train track, magic maize, watched Nightmare Befoer Xmas again.
Am undecided re today; think we need to go out because we'll be in waiting for Boots tomorrow . Thought about going to Camden to get my own birthday present as dh is whinging about not having enough time (well, of course, he only finishes at 3.30pm every day this week), but need to think what we can do thats fun for the boys other than look at barges and go to Daddy's Work! I'd love to tkae them to the zoo, but its soooo expensive now. I cant eace the museums again so soon!!

DontDreamItBeIt · 06/01/2008 09:05

Well.....all the plasterboard that he hid before Christmas is now attached to ceilings(trying o look on the positive side)
All the bits for the bathroom that you can't see are done.

In reality I thik I'll be impressed if it is finished for next Christmas!

Zoo is seriously expensive. Is there a nice park you could go to?

mustmakeyouamanmore · 06/01/2008 09:27

Well, if we go to Camden, they could just go in Regents Park, and still meet dh from work! And look over the fence at the one or two animals you can see without going in the zoo!

I just feel that I should be going somewhere that takes a day, because there's so little of the holiday left now.

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 06/01/2008 09:35

Very impressive flame.

You need to change Tesco vouchers for days out vouchers before going to the zoo.
Is nursery back from tomorrow?

Jas - you won't be impressed if it takes til next Christmas, I can assure you!

One big fully decorated tree in conservatory Friz, and one smaller (to go on top of a/v cupboard) one for the living room, which we ran out of (non-glass) baubles for.

FlameNFurter · 06/01/2008 10:34

lol at letting kids look through the zoo fence!

It was a print out thing from a website, cut out all the pieces and glue together kind of thing. The legs, arms, hands and head all come off like lego Oh and the rockets for the rocket launcher on his back come out too.

Psychoboy2 and DD are currently in the bath. DS woke em at 5.45am , they didn't fall asleep til about 10pm. Luckily it means DD will be ready for bed by 6pm at the latest tonight and have an early night before school

How's Kipper and the itching?

FlameNFurter · 06/01/2008 11:29

Had a horrible dream last night that I can't shake Was 8 weeks pregnant and lost the baby

Frizbe · 06/01/2008 19:28

{{{{{Hugs}}}}} Flame, it was only a dream hon, not reality, cripes, you'd be worried if I was a gov agent as per my dream the night before

So that's really 3 trees then CSWS

Jas, sounding promising for bathroom being finished sooner rather than later though Unlike our house Neighbour had a good one yesterday, his cistern in the toilet broke at the bottom water everywhere so kinda waiting for that to happen to us too

Had nice walk along Cromford canal today, couldn't wake dd2 up for toffee (up at 2.30 then 5.30 for the day) she passed out 10-13:00 out cold, floppy head the works... then we investigated the new playground at Matlock bath, good pirate ship in sand with slide, swings and spinny things if anyone is over that way, and all for free!

Frizbe · 06/01/2008 19:32

OOh Flame I see Ikea are opening in Southampton!

mustmakeyouamanmore · 06/01/2008 20:51

Whats wrong with peering through the fence?

So, inthe end we went to Camden, Leicester Sq (for me to buy my own bday pressie from dh, which was sold out, so good job I did go myself as I needed to decide on an alternative!), Daddy's work (again!! But ds1's choice), and then fed the ducks some leftover cereal in the dark!

Tried, again, to let the boys share bedtime and story. It isnt ever gonig to work.So ds1 will just have to be left alone for longer than usual until ds2 learns to settle really quickly

Nope, ds1 goes back on Thurs csws. 2 days later than the main school because of home visits for the new kids. Told him today how many of his friends are in reception now, and he was gutted
We're stuck in again tomorrow waiting for Boots , got clown hell on Tues afternoon. Thinking asbout a day trip to see a friend on Wed, but dont really want a long late one when its nursery next day.

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 06/01/2008 21:03

I don't know how we're ever going to get dd to settle by herself in her bed either. We've tried to leave her more tonight, rather than dh go to bed with her, but she just stands at her gate screaming and jumping up and down frustratedly. Is getting very boring now . Dh has gone up this time, and may give up and go to bed with her again (thus prolonging how many nights we have to go through the same, but getting us some peace for now).

I have no idea how to tell whether dd is still contagious or not. Hard to be sure whether all of her spots have crusted or not. Had better not risk tumbletots tomorrow I guess, but hoping that she will be okay for childminder on Tues so that I can go to gym (left her with dh to go this morning, but he'll be working from home this week). This afternoon we visited the friends who gave us the cp. Their ds has it now too, but very very mildly, and doesn't seem bothered by it at all.

Frizbe · 06/01/2008 21:27

CSWS we just put dd2 to bed and tell her she can read, I then spend half an hour or so, (sometimes 2hrs) yelling get back into bed!! to which she hurridly mainly does, only to try it on again a few mins later, eventually she passes out though! usually in the bed too dd1 was never this much trouble, honest

Frizbe · 06/01/2008 21:28

Oh and usually she does pass out 'reading' and then I have to go in and extract upto 10 books from her bed

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 06/01/2008 21:35

DD will not be moved from the gate unless we are there. I put her back into bed and before I can take two paces away she's up screaming and shouting 'cuddle'.

Frizbe · 06/01/2008 21:53

Flame is this what ds had? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/138/451357

CSWS have you tried that controlled thing, where you sit with you back to dd a few paces away, so she stays in bed, if she gets out, you put her back in, no noises from you (although I have merbled 'its bedtime' in the past) then you resume your position a few paces away, slowly moving towards the door (this can take time....) then out onto landing etc, eventually they get the sleep thing that way, remember doing it with dd1 and it did work, have done it on occassion with dd2, but this past two weeks with ss and dd1 still rattling around bit of a pita to try and do!

Oh FFS the stuffing boilers packed up again

FlorenceFarkingNightingale · 06/01/2008 21:59

for boiler.

Is that the 'gradual withdrawal' method? It won't work. Dd won't stay in bed even with me in the room. She will only keep still if I am cuddling her .

She will sleep with dh in a bed in the room, but won't even do that with me. She just gets up and wanders around opening and closing the door, and clambering over me on the mattress .

DontDreamItBeIt · 07/01/2008 08:07

boiler.

How's the eczema? I was hinking abou yours last nigh when I as putting cream o mine

Not sure what to suggest re dd CSWS. DD2 was simila. She used o stand at the gate hanging over it to keep herself on her feet. If I went up, she fell asleep in my arms in seconds, bt woke as soon as I left. She could keep herself awake and screaming for longer than I cold bear o leave her(and ithe end that was a long time!)
Sadly I can't remember how we sorted it. I think it involved her falling asleep on the bedroom floor though

Things are not ideal at bedtime here now, either. I'm strugglng o kepep ds awake all day if we go out,and he was up til almost 10 last nigh as were the dds

I had a lovely day out at PWP with them, but argued wih dp as soon as we got home, which resuted in me refusing to do tea, housework or bedtime He did it all, and I has a bath and went to bed early

Got to go and wake he dds for school.

Frizbe · 07/01/2008 08:36

Jas Yay for you having a nice evening after the arguement then my excema is down to two blobs one on each side of my bras straps? but not actually where my bra goes?? odd eh.....

CSWS I think it may be called that? sounds like you may have to get tough though....can you start it whilst dh is around (ie get him to do it, if she'll stay in bed while he's in the room?)

waiting for plumber to call.....my kids we're the 1st in nursery this am and apparently dd2 woke up at 2,30 am, but I was snoring my head off
