Is it too soon to mention Christmas?

well that's ok then - quick shall I talk about something else - like the marvellous sponge cake I made for dh's birthday? Am domestic goddess - inspired cooking type person

Pesha · 28/11/2007 22:39

Dippy are you trying to tell us something?!?!?

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2007 22:41

She seems to have gone to bed - must be tired - interesting...

elkiedee · 28/11/2007 22:58

What do they call being broody by proxy, or wanting someone else to announce she's pregnant again?

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2007 22:59

vicarious pregnancy?

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2007 23:00

'I want her to do it so I don't have to'

Pesha · 28/11/2007 23:08

Lol at 'broody by proxy'!

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2007 23:13

It is odd how your body programmes you to want more though isn't it - I really don't for many reasons (some of which I outlined in grim detail below ) but I do get a little pang when other people talk about trying for a baby etc. I'm looking forward to other people getting pregnant - especailly my b/f so I can go through it with them - but avoid the beastly bits - that's really what I meant by 'I want her to do it so I don't have to'

elkiedee · 28/11/2007 23:21

I know what you mean exactly NL, though I've only just had the one and do hope to have more. I was really amused by how many of us dropped by the April 2008 thread to wish them well as soon as it was started, and exactly the same happened with May 2008. No doubt the mums of 3 month old babies are now wishing those on the August 2008 thread well!

NorthernLurker · 28/11/2007 23:23

oooh elkie do go for it - though personally I recommend either a 2&3/4 year gap or a 6 year one

Eddas · 29/11/2007 07:36

bleugh

Have woken up with the crappiest cold I had one of those 'drippy' noses yesterday

It'll be lovely coughing and spluttering over my work collegues sure they'll be glad to have me back

DS woke me up at 5.15. I went into his room, turned him over. He coughed. Then sneezed. Then gave me the HUGEST simle in the world SO CUTE

I have a great photo of the dc's to take to work with me. The Kodak machines let you put 4(or2) pictures on the same 6x4 so i've got 4 great photos of the cute ones but won't look like a complete prat as they're all in the one frame

Sexonlegs · 29/11/2007 08:11

Morning all.

Oooh CD. Is this true??? You can't just leave us hanging!

Talking of which, where is Pinions and her famous brother????

Eddas, sorry you are feeling pants - get the Lemsip down you!

Bramshott - a real result on the pipe cleaners - were they from The Works?

Hi Elkie and NL and all you other lovelies.

Need to run - dc's to dress and off on the jolly old school run. K is having another settling in session as well - for 2 hours!

Eddas · 29/11/2007 08:19

Hi SOL

Oh crap. DD has been sitting on the sofa for the past hour saying she's tired. Looking a bit bleugh, not her usual dashing about self. SO have administered calpol, BUT what if she is ill? Can I really phone work on my first day back and say I can't go in as DD is ill > Come on calpol do your work

liath · 29/11/2007 08:56

CD?????? We're waiting with baited breath!

Eddas, hope dd perks up.

SOL,we have a plastic reclining feeding chair and I love it. It's on the floor most of the time but it's nice to strap it onto a chair so ds can sit with us for sunday roasts. TBH I can't see the point of highchairs as stuff gets chucked off all over the place - you don't get as wide a spatter-effect with a chair on the floor !

Ds had one final exorcist-style vomit yesterday afternoon (he managed to coat me, dd and much of the sitting room.....) but has been fine since fingers crossed. I am sick of the continual illness thing.

StealthPolarBear · 29/11/2007 09:15

Eddas, hope your dd isn't ill, good luck for your first day
liath and KHIN, sorry to hear about sickness, liath, that sounds so scary.
Hopefully I missed a post to say Maveta is having good nights again (someone else mentioned it), excellent news, glad the psychic link's in operation.
Dippy, are you?? are you?? Was going to text you as I'm not around (honest!!) and ask you to let me know if there's any news, but it would seem you might be the news!
Well we still might not be moving would you believe? The other side's solicitors are waiting to get something from their bank before they agree to releasing the funds (I think)
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

StealthPolarBear · 29/11/2007 09:16

liath, sounds like he might be over it? Really hope so

weeonion · 29/11/2007 09:48

ooooooh - baby news or is CD just teasing??

Eddas · 29/11/2007 09:50

well dd has gone to preschool. But only because I text EAH and she could tell I didn't know what to do. So she came round(not sure what i'd do without her) and managed to get dd to go with her to preschool. I think she's messing me around because she has to go to sil's later whilst I go to work. She used to go there, but I guess it's been 9 months not doing it and she's playing me up. Can't really deal with that atm as am feeling quite low about myself and everything. Text dh to say I feel useless and crap so he rang. But says he can't help as he's stuck at work and now feels bad because i'm not coping didn't really help. I just want him to say i'm not crap and useless but I end up feeling worse. Thing is if i keep it in he says i should tell him.

Sorry waffle waffle.

Have to get ready for work now. House is looking like a heap of shit. My head hurts from sniffing(from the cold) and crying coz i'm so crap and i've got puffy eyes.

Sorry

NorthernLurker · 29/11/2007 09:50

liath - ugh

eddas - hope the calpol worked!

spb - cannot believe the moving stress!

sol - good luck with the settling in session

cd - i think they did notice

mammyjo · 29/11/2007 09:57

Eddas, you are not crap, just having a rough time of it just now. It is really hard with two little ones to look after and with the added pressure of work it makes things even more difficult. I think that the men just want to see a solution, they dont think like we do, that a couple of well chosen words can make a huge difference to your day. Looking after young children is a really hard job, but those who have never done it do not understand. My dh still thinks I just sit around and drink tea all day, would be nice but doesnt happen! You are doing a brilliant job, dont run yourself down

CD, are you just having us on? If not then mad as a box of frogs springs to mind

SPB, there is always a glitch in moving isnt there. Crossing fingers that things work out soon

mammyjo · 29/11/2007 09:59

Eddas, meant to add about your dd. She is probably, as you said, just playing up because she hasnt had to go for a while when you work. They are too damn clever, and know exactly which buttons to press! Hopefully she will get over it soon, good to know that you have such a good friend in eandh.

Eddas · 29/11/2007 10:02

thanks mj you've got it right. He just doesn't know what to say to make me feel better. Prime example is after mum died. I said i'd never be able to speak to her again. he said i could speak to her anytime. I went mad shouting no I won't(etc!) i said all i wanted you to do is listen. Sometimes you don't have to say anything.

My friend(EAH) just rang and said dd was running around like normal outside preschool and they'd had a chat and she will go to sil's later. I have a feeling i was being played stupid idiot, i should know

Eddas · 29/11/2007 10:04

definately messing me about as when eah came she said she'd go to her house this pm which eah said was fine. BUT i said thanks but no or she'll just keep messing me about sneaking little blighters they are
