Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
runnyhabbit · 09/11/2007 16:26

I'm awake

Have slept for about 2 half hours this afternoon.

(did peg lots of washing out before I fell asleep though)

CaptainDippy · 09/11/2007 18:02

Yey for sleep and a bit too - Hope you are feeling good for it, runny!

Play Pens are fab - just stick loads of his fave toys in it and he will completely love it - and you will have peace of mind - best of both worlds, SPB! xx

Feeling a bit like a want to run away atm - love my children, but they are just soooooooooo full-on ........

CaptainDippy · 09/11/2007 18:03

Almost time for a new thread - definitely going for one with something about my mum being Gordon Brown and what was the other thing .......

CaptainDippy · 09/11/2007 18:04

Ah yes - "Man Baby Colds"

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/11/2007 18:54

shall I do the honours or will you oblige?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/11/2007 18:56

"Dippy's mum could rival Gordon Brown any day, except in the Baby-Man cold arena"

??

octo · 09/11/2007 19:42

Maveta · 09/11/2007 20:10

why so quiet? everyone on msn?

shouldn´t it be roastoctoandsprouts?! lol like the xmas spirit

elkiedee · 09/11/2007 20:10

Hi all,

SMB, D's cot looks a bit like a cage as it has bars, but he can see a lot through them and sometimes accepts being put in it for a little while. Dippy's advice makes sense to me, as ever. And if he doesn't like it? You'll just have to have your shower with him screaming and then make it up to him somehow.

I guess I'm lucky because I get to have a bath before dp leaves the house.

runny, glad you managed to get some rest, and getting a handle on the washing is always handy (how sad am I?)

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 09/11/2007 20:11

I have skin like a turkey - still only one leg waxed (been like it all week) and have 3 little round sprouts - small and cute but truly vile.

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 09/11/2007 20:12

er the little round sprouts are the boys btw!

elkiedee · 09/11/2007 20:16

I only just got to catch up on mn threads just now as D is in bed. I hoped dp would help when he came in but every time I found a way of keeping D happy or distracted dp would just stop doing it! Sigh.

I've also managed to get a local mumnsnet meet up going in my bit of London - the great news is that someone else has just taken over the decision making bit - it makes me feel more confident that it won't just be me and D turning up and waiting.

And I've found out that there is a local campaign against privatisation of 5 of our children's centres. The organiser phoned me back this afternoon and texted me her email, so I now need to use that. Just as well, as Danny shredded the bit of paper with her contact details on this evening.

weeonion · 09/11/2007 21:06

elkie - you go for it with a bit of local action.! it's great to get fired up about something!

c has been poorly last night and today - a vile tummy bug. 1st time she has been ill. i wont go into details but i am sure you can imagine the scenes of poo.
v impressed with how cloth nappies coped with it all!

geordiemacminx · 09/11/2007 21:38

WO - C's tummy has been a bit funny the last few days too... I started a post asking about nappies cos if he's sitting up it ends up coming out of the top... the suggestion was gaffer tape

PeshaCake · 09/11/2007 22:47

OMG where is everyone??

Has ellie started the new thread and noones told me?!

Oo is it this office mn so i cant see the link perhaps?

SOL - I expect you've gone to bed now but I wanted to ask if I could send you my cv to have a look at please? As long as you promise not to laugh!

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2007 08:02

Thank you for all being nice about the play pen! elkie, you're right, he has a cot with bars too, so there's very little difference.
I suppose I'm guilty because the temptation is to shut him in there 'playing' for long periods whereas I should just use it when I really need to contain him.
GMM, lol at gaffer tape!
What's everyone up to today?
Ooh according to a development chart thing I was sent at 7 months they should start 'sleeping through'. 2 weeks to go, and I will be demanding my money back if not

Eddas · 10/11/2007 08:12

this must be the shortest catch up ever

I want to change to a christmassy name too Do'ya think using last years would be ok? I really liked it and it was the first time I posted. I rememebr posting as Eddas and then being told hello but you have to change names it was rudolphtherEDDASnosereindeer. Quite ingenious for me as am normally pretty crap with these sorts of things

oo oo oo am getting my hair cut today hasn't been done since pre ds so is in need. Wish I was brave enough to do something radical with it but I like it long. Can't have a fringe. So it'll be trim at the bottom with some layers as it gets all thick and bushy(as it is now)

DS is up on his hands and knees all the time now. Doesn't crawl but gets about IYKWIM. ATM he pushes his self backwards but it won't be long now. SIL made me laugh as she's having dc's when I go back to work. Spoke to her yesterday and she was saying oh it won't be long til he's crawling and following me everywhere. So I told her that he'd more than likely be doing that as soon as she has him(at end of the month) and she was oh! Bless her. She loves kids so they'll be in good hands. She was that she wouldn't get to know ds likes she does dd(she had her from 6mths-3 whilst I worked) so she's now she can have them both. Which is lovely.

Right off to do something or maybe just wander mn for a bit

Hope you all have great saturdays

geordiemacminx · 10/11/2007 08:13

Sleeping through??? Pah!!

C woke at 2 last night, didnt go back to sleep until 4, woke again at 5 for a feed then slept til 7.... not funny!!!

Rang my mam half an hour ago praying that she would nearly be here.... SHE HAD ONLY JUST LEFT....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Another explosive nappy here, I think the poor wee soul has a tummy bug or something, when he woke last nightt it was more of a pained cry as opposed to hungry...still he seems happpy enough!!

It was VERY quiet on here last night

Eddas · 10/11/2007 08:14

spb, if only the development charts were right eh

I have a playpen, one of those babydan gates/playpen things. Never used it as a playpen though as I had a wide gap between the kitchen and front room in my old house so it was used to cage dd in whilst I was in the kitchen I should get it out really and used it with ds. Maybe once he can crawl

Sexonlegs · 10/11/2007 08:35

Morning.

No chance of catching up with you chatterboxes!

Hope everyone is ok. Sorry to those still having bad nights and tummy bugs. Not nice. pmsl at the suggestion of gaffer tape - my dh loves that stuff! Not in a weird way or anything .

WO, K has no teeth yet. I don't think Dippy's P has any yet either.

Pesha, of course you can email me your CV. You should have my address, but it is the talk talk one.

Had a short but sweet visit to see BWI and I yesterday. So lovely to see them, and I is a sweetie.

Blimey, head is mush.

K has a stinking cold poor love, so lots of medised last night. Thankfully I AM AWAY TONIGHT!!!!!!!

Am off for some pampering at a hotel in Guildford with my 2 cousins leaving dh with the girls - ha ha ha ha!

Right, sorry this is so short and crap, but need to get on. Catch up Sunday evening. Have lovely weekends ladies and babies. xx

Pinkjenny · 10/11/2007 09:01

Weeonion - just nosing around other threads from the May 07 thread and wanted to say, your daughter is absolutely beautiful.

Maybe the first I've seen to rival mine...

runnyhabbit · 10/11/2007 09:10
