Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh dear, most of my friends have slightly younger (or perfect ) children. I'm going to be in for some fun then.

Forgot to say, I had to sign an accident report at the childminders when I picked dd up. It began 'DD jumped on another child.....'

FlameInHell · 30/10/2007 21:18

pmsl CSWS

Phoenix · 30/10/2007 21:19

Jas - your stairs sound like ours. I'm used to them and don't find them a problem (and can't think that i ever did ) but people who visit always comment on them been narrow and steep. Ds goes down them on his bum or his belly, feet first not head first

I can add 2 new words to ds' vocabulary he says 'dark' and 'baby' now to add to 'hiya', 'dada' and 'mama'

UniSarah · 30/10/2007 21:48

Boy is confused between light and dark, he calls lights "dark".
also good at Mine mine or rather my my. more of a pincher than a biter. quite good at pushing too.
Ok, I have a one day hole in my block of 10 days childcare needed for me to do an interesteing bit of work. its over a month away.... I'm sure some one will come along who can plug the gap. I think I accept teh project and keep fingers crossed it'll all work out OK.
I know the kind of narrow step stairs refered to. Ours are nothing like that, its a 1970s house.

mustrunawaywithasexyvampire · 30/10/2007 23:02

Ok, so my typing is getting worse, and you're all taking the piss while I'm out

The biting phase... I remember it now, but wish I hadnt. Would've prefered to carry on in ignorance for a bit longer with ds2. Oh well. It cant be as bad as ds1's current phase.. 'I hate you' to everything, 'well, its my house'. Oh, and drop kicking ds2.

Very expensive meal tonight; thank god we didnt pay! Dh chose the most expensive item on the menu though; typical! (some lamb thing, for you interested meat eaters).

BTW csws, I mentioned memphis to dh and he said 'oh my god. No. She's better off staying here'. But he couldn't give a reason why

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/10/2007 23:41

Err, we weren't taking the piss. We were genuinely trying to understand what you were saying!

Ah, so it's not just me that ds1 hates sometimes then?!

Lamb = yummy

Some sort of reason might have been helpful MrMRM .

Now I really must go to bed. Been engrossed trying to find wedding music for VVVQV.

Macwitch · 31/10/2007 07:04

Morning!

We're having the same dilemma mrm re schools. We're visiting yesterday with ds2 in tow. Dh had to take him outside as he decided to kick off in every classroom It's so stressful trying to envisage where your child will be
better off.....

We have mine mine mine here and a new one is why. Everytime you say his name, he says why. You can tell he has an older brother!

So today we are hoping to get to soft play although I am expecting a parcel from GLTC. Can't decide whether to wait in for it or not. Too many decisions to be made this week

Right, little princess is on, followed by Roary so I think I should go grab my shower while all is quiet.

FlameInHell · 31/10/2007 07:41

Why is better than "Wha'?"

I feel a bit wibbly today... I think it is more tiredness than hangover though Enjoyed myself, didn't stay out that late, but went home faaaaaaaaaaaaaar earlier than the others - have requested it not be a school night next time

mustrunawaywithasexyvampire · 31/10/2007 08:07

Its not even where he'll be better off Macca; its where he'll be able to get a place! I'm quite looking forward to going to the school tomorrow; bit of me and ds1 time on the way there and back. And friends's dh is taking ds2 to a playgroup, so wont get him back till 11.30 apparently!

Ok, I submit; that was a good gobbldigook typo; but you should all be able to interpret my typing by now!!

Right csws, the voice has spoken; we have a reason for not going to Memphis. Apparently, it conjours up images of idiotic southerners sitting playing banjos, and you'll be bored. Oh. My. God.

Lamb was apparently a rack of lamb with very tasty spuds and things.
I had broc/cheese/spin parcel with creamy sauce. And neither of us had pudding

Playgroup this morn, then lunch somewher cheap, then nursery, then straight to halloween party number one, then onto anothe if time. Phew! And we have to cart all the costumes round with us all day!!

Hey, ds2 has intellectual progress; he can do a 4 piece lift out jigsaw using only his mouth

mustrunawaywithasexyvampire · 31/10/2007 08:08

Where did you go Flame; did I miss that bit?

Phoenix · 31/10/2007 08:39

Morning

for expensive free meal mrm.

for hangover Flame

We're going to a toddler hallowe'en party at a friends house soon. Ds is going as a devil

Phoenix · 31/10/2007 08:40

Oh read wrong you haven't got a hangover . for tiredness

UniSarah · 31/10/2007 09:17

dressing boy as a pirate tonight. Don't think the hat will stay on long tho and tehn he will look just like normal but with trews tucked into socks. HAve more hopes for my window dressing by front door. green filter on teh out side light, big spider hanging from eves, kitchen window blacked out but for an up lit pumpkin and some "spider webs".
righto, ought to go get this boy dressed, two wees on th floor already.

FlameInHell · 31/10/2007 12:10

Little bit of a hangover, but not a full one

I went out with Stepsisters for the youngest's birthday - I never really notice the age gap, until I was sat on a step at the club exactly where I met DH... and realised that she was 10 at the time The older one tried to tell me that that was before it was a rock club... erm, no, has been a rock club for maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany years (way before I started going), still the same djs, tis just the name changes and they give it a lick of paint I do now have this awe thing from them though because I worked there

Dd wants to do something halloweeny, but I don't like trick or treating and the garden centre event is sold out

DS went to nursery in his ghost sleepsuit -considered making his face white with face paints but realised he is so pale naturally that no-one would notice the change

Sorry for all the rambling

MRM - No pudding?!!?! It was FREE!!!!

EachPeachPearMum · 31/10/2007 13:18

Hi everyone- sorry- have been too shattered each evening to contribute....

We're not doing Hallowe'en- dd had a party at nursery on friday which she loved, but I don't like trick or treating, so we will be hiding out in the back this evening.

Fireworks were scaring her a bit yesterday evening, just before bed- they are soooo loud at the moment, and neighbours across the road had them in their back garden, so it was really close.

re speech- dd still doesn't do 'me' or 'mine', but everything in our house is A***'s!

BTW what age should they be able to go down stairs by themselves? She still can't- only started going up them pretty recently, and she was v late crawling/walking....

Macwitch · 31/10/2007 14:06

ds2 has been walking up and down ours which are very steep for well over 6 months, however ds was about 2.5 before he attempted to walk up and down them properly.

I took the boys to sotplay this morning and ended up having lunch at 11. Ds2 decided to sit at someone elses table and try and help himself to their biscuits When I pulled him away we had a big tantrum. Sigh.....

UniS · 31/10/2007 16:22

bibble

UniS · 31/10/2007 16:26

sorry, have had problems posting with new halloweeenish nickname. now got it sorted but with more dull nickname. Thinking of keeping this one for a bit. any objections. Unisarah

Just got the kitchen window dressed for halloween, its right by teh front door. pumpkin, random blue lighty up string, orange spider web, spider etc. Outside light has green filter round and a big furry spider underneath. Top hat is full of chocolate for boy's fan club who I'm sure will be round later wanting to see him and show off their fancy dress.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/10/2007 20:17

Just a quickie. Had a busy day today - toddlers then lunch with MIL then (aborted) shopping for a bracelet for dd, then park, then home, then tea, then bath, then bed! Now have massage woman due to arrive in a few mins, so if I appear to have posted mid message, then I probably have!

No Halloween stuff going on here. I would prob forget it was halloween if it wasn't for you lot! We will do fireworks for bonfire night though .

Don't think there's a should be doing stairs by themselves age. DD did it early, but then she walked early (just before 11 months). A friend's dd of the same age doesn't quite walk yet, so she obv won't be doing stairs. They will all get there in the end.

Phoenix · 31/10/2007 20:40

That's cos you live in the middle of nowhere csws

This is the 1st year we've done Hallowe'en (we normally sit in the dark) i've bought a Hallowe'en bowl, sweets, done a pumpkin, got it in the window and we've had 1 group of kids, ah well we'll ave to eat all the sweets ourselves

Lew has been in his devil outfit all day although he wouldn't keep the hood bit on.

Jas · 31/10/2007 21:02

Our street was swarming with little(and not so little ) witches and ghouls.

No electrician today, but lots of other stuff is being done. Nothing here except the computer, and I'm too tired to go and get a chair, so I'm off to bed.

FlameInHell · 01/11/2007 09:42

Well, DH went out with his mates last night, and they are talking about getting him a job with them

It would be a pay rise, computers, decent company with pension etc.

I pointed out to him that he has no computer qualifications, and he says that they are convinced they can get him a job (2 of them are in charge of hiring their own staff) and that he has the knowledge to do the job even if it isn't on paper.

I don't want to build mine or his hopes up, but it would be soooo good.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/11/2007 09:47

Ooh that would be good flame.
Today a new job in IT, tomorrow Memphis .

FlameInHell · 01/11/2007 10:05

The summer piss up in Memphis sounds good though!

mustrunawaywithasexyvampire · 01/11/2007 10:33

Noooo, you cant all bugger off to Memphis
