Not surprised your fuming, i would be too. Def complain he could get sacked for that especially for not knocking . How weird that he thinks he can do it and you won't have a problem with it. My front door is always locked but its just a habit i've got into and do it without thinking now.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2007 16:07

Assume everyone has remembered about the clocks changing tonight? DD is having a late nap so that I can put her to bed late and get it all sorted in one go, but no doubt I'll be wanting some 'me' time well before she goes to bed (largely to watch X Factor ). Think I might go and get her up now - it's been a long nap too! Bit late to go to the farm now .

mustrunmore · 27/10/2007 16:22

I've never really thought about the door, as its a catch one anyway. Although the elder boy from next door can open it, and just let himself back out the other day; if I hadnt seen him, I'd hAVE STILL THOUGH HE WAS PLAYING UPSTAIRS [HMM] (oops caps, sorry!) He's also appreared at ours, and I've only found out that he didnt ask to come until I checked with him as an afterthought. God, I dread ds1 doing that.

Been shopping with my Mum today She's going to haqve zero money as of next yr for various reasons, so is treating us to stuff now! (ds1's birthday party, money towards a new dehumidifier as last one broke last yr, socks for dh, thunderbird 5 for ds1!)

Phoenix · 27/10/2007 16:50

I've remembered clocks go back but no late naps here cos ds is sleeping at my mum and dads so they can deal with him

I've been at work this morning so they've had him all day anyway (i haven't just abandoned him there i have been with him from 1-4pm) but they haven't put him down for a nap at all so i think he'll be in bed at his usual 7 and up an hour earlier.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2007 17:23

lol Phoenix!

Has your mum agreed re the money from your dad then mrm?

mustrunmore · 27/10/2007 17:39

Oooo, I feel better now phoenix, as I was about to say 'who cares about the clocks, my Mum is here'

not really csws, but I think she's coming round to the idea but is too stubborn to admit that it'll be reality!

Phoenix · 27/10/2007 18:17

mrm.

I just got off the phone to my mum and she's still planning on keeping him up til 8pm after no sleep all day, rather her than me, he's a pain when he gets tired. I won't laugh much if he still wakes up after a normal nights sleep

Jas · 27/10/2007 19:31

Evening
Ds had a late nap here by accident, but no late bedtime. He gets up when he gets up. Late bedtimes make no difference. It will be a gradual adjustment to the extra hour.

I may not be around next week. Rewiring starts Monday, and I have to clear this room out completely.

My door is a yale lock too, but I put it on the latch when the dds are outside. I still expect people to knock tbh, even if it is wide open! And they do.

FlameInHell · 27/10/2007 19:37

watching xfactor dirnking much wine

mustrunmore · 27/10/2007 19:42

Not around for a week?!

mustrunmore · 27/10/2007 19:46

I've been looking at a party catalogue planning what to do for ds2 Soooo organised! People who are close to me, would you in theory come for a birthday lunch/indoor picnic on a weekday morning? Am thinking butties and chips in those cute car shaped food boxes, picnic rugs on the front room floor, then a cake and everyone buggers off afterwards Grown ups just a drink and maybe a buttie on a paper plate! Thats all that fits in with the size of our house!

Macwitch · 27/10/2007 20:06

Ditto Jas. Doesn't matetr what time boys go to bed, they'll wake when they wake!

How was the gym csws? I went this morning, but struggled with a bad head so came home after 1.5. Pissed off I didn't finish.

Ds2 having quite a few tantrums and it's becoming very tiring walking over him/dragging him to a safe place to have one/ ignoring him.

Dh let me have an afternoon kip. I got my period yesterday and am losing quite a bit of blood which is probably why I feel so crap. Headaches, dizziness, etc etc.

For what it's worth mrm, i think that's sounds good. Don't panic, you know me, never show up to meet ups although I might have made it to Mountfitchet, i mean what excuse could I have given

EachPeachPearMum · 27/10/2007 20:09

Evenin' all!

Flame- YANBU about the postie- extremely odd, unless you live in a little village like Greendale or something...

mrm- what is a party catalogue, and where do I get one? Sounds like the kind of thing I like to look at (yeah, I know, I'm a bit odd, and can be very 'matchy matchy')

Not too worried about the clocks changing, in fact I'm looking forward to getting into work at a decent time- as now she'll get up around 7, rather than 8. I know, I know, I DO appreciate how lucky I am having a baby that doesn't do mornings! It can be a bit of an a*se though when you want to get out of the house before 9! DH has only managed to get her to nursery by 10am each day this week LOL.

Well- we spent the day at the giant blue and yellow hell aka Ikea. Bought the wooden train set (inc extra bridge and points etc) for dd for christmas- yay! She is mad on cars, buses, and lorries at the moment, so she is going to love it Just spent 40 mins playing with it ourselves after she had gone down, trying different combinations LOL- Dh never had a train set as a child, and loves it.

Jas · 27/10/2007 20:10

mrm- I could do it in theory Scarily organised though.

I have to clear the room of everything by Tuesday. Possibly reconnected on Wednesday, bt with dp working here, plus his electrician mate doing the wiring, I can't see me mumsnetting during the day. I plan on being out. Alot.

Jas · 27/10/2007 20:14

Have you organised party people seen this? Don't know if you could get her to do 2 instead of three, though

FlameInHell · 27/10/2007 20:43

Oooh wonderlandpartyboxes or summat like that look great

FlameInHell · 27/10/2007 20:46

here

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2007 21:17

OMG that is so organised! But yes, in theory I could do it .

Well my hour adjustment is sorted. DD to bed at 9, so should hopefully make it through til at least 6 (hopefully later!) on the new time.

Just catching up on X Factor now, so have to stay off the XF thread until I've caught up.

You came home after 1.5hrs at the gym and that wasn't enough macca . I would never (except Tues afternoons) have enough time to stay that long! Am liking the sense of satisfaction from going though. Shame I will prob only get chance to go once this week, as am v busy. Hopefully dh will take dd swimming whilst I go again next weekend though, as he'll be home on Friday.

I seem to have spent most of the afternoon mopping floors, and they are still dirty. Builders announced today that they aren't coming back for a few days, as they have another job to do. I have a wall and a half missing from my conservatory, and no door or wall on the back of my utility room .

I haven't even thought about what to get dd for Christmas yet. Must start making a list for other people though, as all of her grandparents want to be much more organised than me .

EachPeachPearMum · 27/10/2007 21:28

Ach- I told people that if they had any requests, they needed to get them in by end of Oct, as I am not doing any shopping after that.

Dire warnings have gone unheeded, needless to say, so hers is the only thing I've thought about. Unfortunately, having been ages since birthday, most of her stuff is getting a little stale now... so my list for her is rather long ...oops.
Am fancying a wheelybug too, but they're rather peng

I work full-time, and we live in Birmingham- shopping capital for the midlands. I refuse to shop in the city centre near christmas- it is hell on earth let alone with a toddler in tow. Have told Dh that if his family don't tell me what they want by oct 31st he has to buy the presents, but I don't think he believes me

Macwitch · 27/10/2007 21:45

Peng? We have wheely bug, fantastic! We have races, me on bug, boys on svan and vice versa!

The joys of builders csws!

I was at the gym at 7 so dh didn't have much to do with the boys

EPPP, Birmingham the shopping capital, nah, surly it's Fosse Park!

Boys sorted for Christmas. Just ds to sort out for his birthday, was thinking of Habitat racing track rug. Dh not convinced. First time I've even thought of Christmas before middle of November so I'm impressed with myself even if dh isn't!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2007 22:01

Peng?!?!

EachPeachPearMum · 27/10/2007 22:15

OOops sorry. You know those phrases you use in your family, and then you find out no-one else does....

Peng means expensive (it's Thai). My father lived 20 yrs in Thailand...

EachPeachPearMum · 27/10/2007 22:17

Macca- LOL@ Fosse Park. I haven't heard of it- just googled it though.

Very classy site

Is it shopping mecca in Leicester then?

EachPeachPearMum · 27/10/2007 22:21

personal syle solutions at Fosse Park

'thats so your colour'- erm, would that be the white, black, or grey?

mustrunmore · 27/10/2007 22:41

Hey, stop it! I'm not actually organising it, just starting to think of ideas, so stop being sarky! Optimistically, it'd only be 7 kids, including ds1 and 2 of his mates, as ds2 has no friends Or it might even only be a mn party!

STOP PRESS.... found the Chick Hicks and the owl reflector, both of which went missing at least 3 months ago... down the back of an encyclopedia So, only 3 Cars, a black top of mine, and a horseshoe left to locate..

Well, you know I've been sorted for xmas for ages. But I did swop one or two pressies between recipients today (boys, all same kind of stuff), and I did decide to reverse which of the 2 freecycle things my Dad is giving ds2 and which we are. Oh, and I got DL the 2008 bikini babes calendar from poundland, in time honoured tradition! Me and dh had to try and guess each other's favourite girl, and which one we thuoght the other person would choose for ourselves IYSWIM. We both got it right on both counts! Er, and I guessed which one my Mum would pick (because she was the only one 'sitting nicely with her legs together' ). And ds1 said he liked all 12.
