Sputnik · 10/10/2007 19:31

how's things Ria?

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 19:34

LOL Sputnik.

I've got books on local pub walks. Trouble is many are too short for me, and almost all of them require you to drive to the pub to start with, and I don't normally have use of the car in the week. (Sorry, I know I sound like a right whinger, putting up arguments against everything anyone suggests)

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 19:38

Right, time to go get some turkey casserole. Hope it's going to be yummy. And rice pudding for afters

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 19:45

Jamantha, my DH is working on a prototype baby changing bag for those exact reasons....think photographic film changing bag but for babies, with some of that pop-up stuff in. He wasn't sure there was a market for it, but......

....shit now his idea is out there for all to see....but hey, he's already registered the intellectual rights to it!

BZ......TA.....come baaaaaaack, we love you guys and will miss your dry sense of humour and off the wall outlook on life

and TA, you need to keep us informed about getting your money back from scummyyummymummy.

LOL at you losing and gaining the same 3kg Sputnik......I think it must come visit me for a bit, and then back over to you when it rains here or something . you can keep it you know....I don't mind

jbm how is the poor pigeon, is it just a young one? I'm surprised your friendly neighbourhood fox hasn't got it by this time.

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 19:52

there was a thing on the One show the other week about walking, and walking uses mre fat burning calories than running. The reason being that slow and steady calory burn is better when it comes to getting the weight off and keeping it off.

jbm...I smell the bottom of a 5 day old milk bottle every morning....nasty nasty nasty...although DH tells me I'm imaginig it. He obviously knows what's good for him

maybe your sense of smell stays heightened even after birth, cos I'm still really noticing smells....especially the difference between DS and DD.

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 19:59

Maybe I could use one of these. Would offer some protection against the elements?

I also need to get one of these. I got caught once last year and had to squat behind a (very sparse) bush to have a wee*, and my bladder probably isn't as resiliant these days.

*I spent ages deciding whether to squat facing or away from the path. Facing had the advantage of being able to see if anyone was approaching, but I also thought I might rather not know so opted for away in the end. Sorry if TMI, but I'm interested to know what others do.

CunningPlanFormulator · 10/10/2007 20:00

Awww, my dp just went to the shop for bread and milk and came back with a box of G&B chocs for me! I spose he's alright really! Now to persuade him to wash up...!

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 20:03

Lucky you, CPF

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 20:18

my DM got one of those MJ. I don't think she's used it ever, but it's worth it just for the laugh. They are about the size of a small chilli pepper!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 20:18

LOL Jamantha....needing a wee when out walking is just the pits. A friend of ours used to go walking in the Lakes a lot with her great aunt (it's like Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon most of the time). Her aunt used to wear a huge billuminous wallking skirt and no knickers and if she was caught short just squat at the side of the path and pee . I got nettle rash on my arse (and worse) once....not funny

how about a storm shelter they rely on bodies to keep them upright, but I suppose you could use the pram. Handt for BFing as well and they pack down really small

ooooh, and found this lovely place for changing bags which look nice

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 20:20

Have you seen This Thread?

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:25

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:27

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:28

and am watching 'bringing up baby'

Elsbells · 10/10/2007 20:28

Cunning pls can I have a piece of chocolate?? I am starving. Well starving for sweets not food.

Hope everyone's day has been ok. My DD was crying a lot of it. Not sure whether to cry myself.

Bumper, how was your move? I moved during my pregnancy back in Feb and the one bonus was I didn't have to move any boxes (yah!). Bad part - I had to help paint and do DIY til I was 38 weeks pg. Think I was ready to get divorced at that point.

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 20:28

just looking at my earlier post...is bulliminous actually a word? I think I meant voluminous.

farking baby brain. much respect to TA for working. My DH asked me the date the ither day and I couldn't tell him.......and I was on farking MN at the time

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:30

Daisy please don't respect me for working.. I am actually the living dead, without DH's constant support I wouldn't be able to manage it at all.

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 20:31

hi fury. glad you couldn't keep away.

DH is making me watch the Raymond Blanc programme. Why oh why?

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 20:36

fury, you could give up work and rent out your DH. you always make him sound lovely

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:38

He is!!
But, he's also very hairy. I suppose I could always give him a back, sack and crack for wider appeal?

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 20:39

pmsl Ria......

mine is for hire too.....quite handy around the house, as long as someone stands over him sucking in their teeth and saying "no you don't wan't to do it like that"

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 20:40

We could do Husband Swap!

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 20:41

I'm am going to hang on to the conviction that I don't know what that means!

I hope none of these people on this programme are anyones best mates - but WE could do that! (so much better? DH thinks so)

Elsbells · 10/10/2007 20:41

TA working won't get easier but you will (sadly) get used to it.
When I went back to work w/DS (tho he was a bit older, 8m) it was exhausting and I constantly felt like I was being pulled in different directions. I actually once yawned in the middle of a meeting with my boss (it was a 1 on 1!) but I kept thinking about the £££.

I helped save for our move to a new flat and for my wedding last Sept and most importantly I got a 2nd mat leave.

Thank goodness you have a great DH!
