sounds impressive JM> I'd like to do the coast to coast or the dales way or similar.

I am 30 next year and would like to mark it with something. Maybe just Helvellyn, or was wondering about this

Ria, that looks fab. DH had been to the one in Grizedale forset in the lake district.

there is something like that where we are ging on holiday, but I'm not sire my dodgy pelvis is entirely up to it.

BZ, don't disappear on us!

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 17:34

I couldn't do that Ria, terrified of heights - hate even being on a chair. Also not good on uneven surfaces, so tend to walk on relatively even ground, no mountain terrain for me I'm afraid.

Thanks for that nappy recommendation, Daisy. See if I can persuade DH that we need more nappies

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 17:40

How cruel/dangerous/bad-motherly do people think it is to change LO's nappy outside, putting the mat on the floor, ON A COLD DAY? I didn't have a problem doing this in the summer, but if we want to extend our walks much further, it's going to get to the stage where I have to do nappy changes. Depending on where we go, there might not be anywhere other than the ground - if it was raining I wouldn't be happy about half undressing her, and if the ground was muddy wouldn't be overly keen but am generally worried about exposing her to cold to do this.

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 17:41

I am considering the winter months, as well as the autumn

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 17:53

I haven't sacked anyone
I have never sacked anyone

I stopped using an accountancy agency ...
My comment about 'sacking and rehiring people for shits and giggles' was a joke.

HellHathNoFury · 10/10/2007 17:55

My comment about 'wishing I could go for walks' was because I feel that I wasted the time I had off. Now I have no time to myself, I regret not using it more wisely.

I, too, am going to take some time off, if only to learn how to express myself more articulately via written word!

SuperPooFighter · 10/10/2007 18:01

Well I hope you're both back soon as I love ya both, huns [kisses]
Just goes to show, it's hard to get someone's tone in writing. I think we have to assume no one is actually out to get anyone's back up so give the benefit of the doubt..

Anyhoo....
re wightloss Bumper, I seem to be losing and gaining the same 3kg over and over
I am on a renewed drive this week and stopped drinking wine in an effort to get over this plateau

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 18:02

I know, Fury. I'm just a bit sensitive because I feel guilty about doing something I enjoy, which might not be the best for LO.

SuperPooFighter · 10/10/2007 18:07

MJ, dunno about the nappy changing, maybe plan the walk so there's somewhere indoors you could stop and change the nappy? Are you in town or country?

SuperPooFighter · 10/10/2007 18:09

thiink she'll let you know if she's not enjoying it MJ

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 18:16

Wanting to do country walks, SuperPoo/Sputnik.

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 18:18

unless lo was ill i don't see why it wouldn't be good for her to be enjoying the fresh air with mummy.

I don't know about nappy changes. some public loos are bloody cold. if you have a thick mat and maybe found a bench? but i suppose so long as she's only wet a couple of hours or so won't do much damage if you offset it with extra no-nappy time afterwards?

do you have a carry-device or a buggy for walking?

possetwiper · 10/10/2007 18:19

missed all the action as out all day
hope you ladeees come back soon we al need each other especilly for our different perspectives

re the nappy mj I think it is fine to change it outside they only get cold for a min

know what you mean about the wt loss superpoo I ma stuck stuck stuck but am planning to up my exercise as lo can go in the creche at the gym so have booked him in for his trial and then I will be hoping to go 2 days a week

SuperPooFighter · 10/10/2007 18:28

I reckon you'd only have a problem if it waas reaally windy as well as cold. but it might be a good excuse to check out some nice country pubs

justbeme · 10/10/2007 18:32

Oh dear - I hope BZ and Hell can "make up" understanding that it was a MISunderstanding all round - c'mon ladies, what is it we say to our lo's? "Kiss and make up!!"

Mind you don't forget that we have a lot of hormones flying around still - so we'll blame them shall we??!!

Foxy and Daisy - I thought it was just me or that my Sure was crap, but I wake up in the morning and I smell like - well lets not go there!! and I find that im very sweaty in social situations (not good when you're trying to make a good impression!!) - So will it be like this until I stop breastfeeding? I fed DD1 for 18mths and really cant remember this - so maybe its age as well??

Jamantha - Im sure nappy changes would be fine under a tree if raining/or in a village pub??

justbeme · 10/10/2007 18:34

"Great minds.." Superpoo!!

Oh btw - the pigeon finally made it out the side gate - but he's now sat on my front lawn - Im sure my Dog will say hello on his night walk!!

ps Do the 2nd jabs make Lo's sleepy??

SuperPooFighter · 10/10/2007 18:34

Couple of these under the changing mat

bumperlicious · 10/10/2007 18:54

I think a break is a good idea but we all need to take one so none of us miss out! Our children might like us more too!

CunningPlanFormulator · 10/10/2007 19:11

Are we all friends again?

I love you guys xxx

bumperlicious · 10/10/2007 19:12
riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 19:15

sweating - don't get me started. I thought it was the ADs

milkyJammy · 10/10/2007 19:20

JBM - the phrase I remember from my childhood is "say sorry, and really mean it"

Country pubs? Sounds good, will investigate potential routes. The walks I'd been thinking of might have a pub at the beginning and end, but bugger all in between, so might be time to consider alternatives. Sputnik, might need some of those heat things for my knees, if I have to kneel on the ground to perform the nappy change

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 19:28

you can get lots of books on "pub walks"

My favourite is from the car ferry in Windermere over the lake to Far Sawrey and back again. but that's no use if you aren't in the lakes!

We NEED to do more walking...

Sputnik · 10/10/2007 19:30

Ooh, that's better. That nappy over me tights was giving me wedgie....

Plus I wasn't sure how I felt about being refered to as Super Poo
