afernoon Mammyjo. Hope you had a nice weekend.

I went out for two (yes, 2) whole drinks for over an hour I was out of the house! Well, where will it end????
I was consoling single friend, whom love has evaded repeatedly. She is 37 and desperate to find love, and get over being dumped 2 years ago. I'm not making much headway I'm afaid!

mammyjo · 01/10/2007 14:06

Mmk, I have a friend a bit like yours. She is 32 and single. A nicer person you couldnt wish to meet, yet she just cant seem to meet the right person.
A whole hour to yourself! What is that?!!

Idreamofchocolate · 01/10/2007 14:09

Nutty at Dr for giving you a lecture.

Well S well and truly awake, but does not seem to know what she wants today. Is just grizzling away to herself (why am I on here then?). I really need 5 mins to myself, and she's not going to let me have it today...

Idreamofchocolate · 01/10/2007 14:10

Yes, mmk at an hour to yourself.

AloPesha · 01/10/2007 14:30

I should probably just say Ellie didnt actually do anything norty, she just um well we had some interesting chats!!

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2007 14:35

Hi everyone
Been into work and feel a bit odd - I don't like feeling out of it, but don't want to be back. Also feel as though when I get back I'll be starting again iyswim
Nutty glad the miserable doc has been. 2 days without milk - is that right??

mmk · 01/10/2007 14:43

ah yes, an hour to myself..the benefits of GF..?
I'm just about to get Rachel up from her lunch time nap (2 1/4 hours) and yet I've managed nothing in the house, except a bit of ironing, some tidying and some sewing. ( oh yes, and a yummy 'leftovers' lunch.

It felt so odd though, having a drink, like a person, not a mummy. No pram bag, no wipes, nothing, it was very liberating.

Ds is happily 'painting' the fence outside with water, it keeps him happy for hours.

mmk · 01/10/2007 14:44

spb You will soon be back where you were, but it must feel awful the first week, and the first day. Being a Monday too, what could be worse?

mammyjo · 01/10/2007 14:51

SPB, 2 days with milk may well be fine, although I think I would be inclined to go for 24 hours then try milk again. (Thats the paeds nurse in me though. Trained to disagree with the docs!!) Depends how the baby is though TBH. Its a kind of play by ear thing IYKWIM.

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2007 14:54

Sorry mmk, should have made it clear, I just popped in with doughnuts! Not actually back until April, which is part of the problem, by then I'll be a distant memory

sleepbabysleep · 01/10/2007 15:21

Hi girls, first day back at work and very hectic so hoping to catch up later if I get a chance. Quick q. cos I normally bf on demand which works out normally as every 3 or 4 hours. today my mum gave him a bottle at 12pm and dh still hasn't given him a second bottle (4.20pm our time) cos he said N isn't asking for it. Should we wait for him to ask or just give? He never normally goes more than 4 hours between feeds when bf/ing

HELP!!

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2007 15:39

sbs I found this when mum looked after T for the day, usually feeds every 2 hours, with bottle it was more like 4. Don't worry about it!

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2007 15:39

I assume when he bfs he mostly snacks / tops up, with a bottle he tends to finish it and so would have more than normal.

mammyjo · 01/10/2007 15:48

Yep, I would agree with SPB. He will soon shout if he is hungry! Hope your first day back is going well

mammyjo · 01/10/2007 15:52

Dippy, cheque is in the post

CaptainDippy · 01/10/2007 16:14

If he neeeeeeeds milk, he'll holler, SBS - hope work is going ok hon.

Will hopefully get a chance to post out Grobags to Ange & MJ tomorrow - will let you both know when I get the cheques .....

DD2 has been v.odd today - whinging and grizzling and generally being a total PITA. Seems happy enough now though, friends have just left and girls are playign dollies while P has a kip (she's been napping really strangely today ..... .....)

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2007 16:18

LOL at napping strangely. T has been feeding strangely, ahve decided he is now too old to be wearing sleepsuits so have put him in trousers But he seems to be uncomfortable when feeding and I'm wondering if it's the waist of the trousers digging into his stomach?

CaptainDippy · 01/10/2007 16:27

Doubt it, he is probably just getting to the stage where he is a nosey little blighter and wants to be looking round all the time in case he misses out on something!!

OP posts:
SharpMolarBear · 01/10/2007 16:31

no he already does that pulls of and gets a face full of milk!
He just seemed to be groaning more and wriggling

CaptainDippy · 01/10/2007 16:43

Guess it's a possibilty - I dunno - I don't do sleepsuits, remember!!?

LOL @ bizaare name change!

CaptainDippy · 01/10/2007 16:45
