I hope I've not just made my cat ill - she was begging for the bowl to lick once I'd finished my ice cream. I put it down and then remembered (as she had her face well int it) that I'd had Baileys poured over it.

foxybrown · 03/10/2007 20:43

mmm, Baileys and ice cream...

sorry, hope cat is ok!

i'm off to find pudding. nite all x

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 20:44

night, foxy

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 20:45

it was me jamantha...I had some parfait amour years ago that we brought back from Lyon when I was about 21....now that is liquid parma violets.

My sis and I used to collect little miniatures and had loads from all over the world. When we shared a flat we were really hard up so proceeded to drink our way through our 300 strong miniature collection. It took us a while to drink them all but what fun we had!!

faylisa · 03/10/2007 20:45

Daisy - that word was not the product of a mushy brain! Respect..!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 20:47

ah, but it was a frivolous waste of two Ss

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 20:48

I think I saw your miniature collection in the window of an offy in Amsterdam, Daisy. Two big windows, floor to window, full of minatures, it looked really cool. Actually, it was that trip when we got the parfait amour, as part of a multi-pack of Bols liquers in the duty free on the boat home.

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 20:49

floor to window ?

floor to ceiling of course!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 20:51

We had them around the picture rail in the living room of our flat, and they were just a harbour for dust....so they had to go!

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 20:54

I can imagine the dust. Our alcohol collection is a bit like that. A friend came round and comedically wrote "drink me" in the dust on a wine bottle.

sputnik · 03/10/2007 21:08

Mine was definitly a shotgun wedding. We'd been together about 15 years so it was no big deal, just done to satisfy the in-laws and for legal reasons really. I got married in black velvet as my revenge , would've gone for colour if I could've found something i liked 9white is NOT me, but anyway have a gorgeous dress I could wear if we were ever invited anywhere that warranted it (and I got back down to 60kg)

Daisy, I'd go for the wood-burner but then I'm hopelessly unromantic, which is lucky for me as so is DH

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 21:09

LOL Jamantha....wine doesn't last long enough to collect dust in this house.

Although we do have a bottle of generic fizz that we got as a wedding present in May 05....plus a MAGNUM of Bollinger that DS won in a raffle two years ago. We're waiting on a reason to open the magnum as we don't think we could manage to get through it just the two of us!

loonylovegood · 03/10/2007 21:15

I wanna get married [sad! I have an engagement ring, but I want a wedding too! Dp keeps going on about us getting married, he'd go to the registry office tomorrow, but I want a proper wedding!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 21:15

Before I got pregnant I was in the lucky position that my wedding dress was actually too BIG for me

I think if I tried it on now it would definately be too tight

How is the poo situation Sputnik? Babyboo has had some corkers today as well....which I think are down to the immunisations.

Her poor legs are both really swollen where the jabs went in. I think she has reacted a bit to the pnuemococcal as she has been a bit hot and bothered and grumpy today.

Sputnik, what immunisations do you get over there?

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 21:15

black velvet sounds cool sputnik.

riabutterflew · 03/10/2007 21:19

put a spoon in the neck daisy, it'll last a day or two. you could have had it to celebrate DD.
I don't think I could have alcohol in my house (that I liked) and not drink it

faylisa · 03/10/2007 21:21

I think I'd be lucky to get one thigh into my wedding fress these days

faylisa · 03/10/2007 21:22

dress!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 21:23

hey holly...

We were married by the minister from my local church, but we did it in a hotel as you can have a relgious ceremony anywhere in Scotland, as long as the premises is licensed for carrying out weddings. It was good compromise as I wanted the whole religion thing going on, but DH isn't a religious type so didn't want a church wedding.

Twas fab as it meant everyone was there for both the ceremony and the party.

The only thing that went a bit adrift was DS fell asleep and isn't in ANY of the official photos

faylisa · 03/10/2007 21:24

Jamantha, don't do what I did - keep the lovely bottle of pink bubbly i was given for my 21st for so long that when I did finally open it, it had gone off!

loonylovegood · 03/10/2007 21:26

I want the whole wedding thing, but with no religion. In a nice hotel or something. I want a dress like this in pale silver satin. The bridesmaids would have the same dress, but in different shades of the same colour and the flowers would co-ordinate! It's all planned in my head, it's just a case of getting the vast amounts of cash needed to carry it off!

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 21:30

Nice dress Holly. We had the wedding in a hotel, in their lounge. We had lovely views over the gardens and the hills beyond. And at the back of the room was a bar, which they could open as soon as the ceremony was done, so we all turned round and there were the drinks waiting for us!

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 21:30

My uncles said that made it the best wedding they'd been to

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 21:32

Anyway, I'm off. Goodnight!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 21:36

lovely frock holly.

It needn't cost the earth you know. Ours was a fraction of the average cost of a wedding.

We were the same Jamantha....drinks in hand as soon as the ceremony was over and done with.
