@Magpie21 we used yellow metanium when baby got rash ( upset tummy from antibiotics )

Then Sudocrem care&protect or the purple metanium as a barrier for every day use atm as his poos are quite sloppy still

mrssunshinexxx · 08/07/2020 07:30

@Magpie21 bepantham or breast milK- it's magic!

MsMiaWallace · 08/07/2020 08:38

@AmyMaria2 Baby Ace is gorgeous!

So got my new bathroom scales. I've put on just over 2stone.
Hoping this isn't too bad. I put on the same with my other 2.

I'm struggling with what to wear though.
What are you guys wearing at the mo?
Apart from PJ's?? Lol

Pegase · 08/07/2020 08:49

@Magpie21 we normally use yellow metanium for rash but lo developed what we think is thrush nappy rash so GP prescribed Timodene medicated cream which is amazing and said just use vaseline as a barrier atm as you can see what is going on.

I'm sure most of you have already done this but I thought I'd share this any way! Regarding Child benefit I printed the form off online and sent it in without the birth certificate last Friday and it's already pending on my account for tomorrow, so any one waiting to register the birth you don't need to to get the benefit. 😊

Blizy · 08/07/2020 11:38

Can I ask what weight and age your little ones are now?
Rose is 4 weeks today and was weighed in at 6lb 9oz she's such a little thing. She is feeding well, I'm expressing and feeding her EBM in bottles.

mrssunshinexxx · 08/07/2020 11:52

@MsMiaWallace that will drop off in no time do you get our walking much? That's what I'm depending on 11lb to go still recovering from section so only short walks for now

@Blizy what a little dot
Penelope was 7lb 6Oz at birth then dropped to 6lb 12oz 2 days later was 7lb and 3 days later 7lb 7oz!

AmyMaria2 · 08/07/2020 12:23

@Busylizzie85 thank you! Will send my form off I have been waiting, and Ace is 8 weeks! Lol xx

APD1981 · 08/07/2020 13:27

Yeah I sent the CB form back a couple of weeks ago and got my first payment on Monday so they process quite quickly. I put a cover letter in saying I've not registered him yet as per their website but not sure it was necessary really.

@Blizy she's so tiny! I can't wait got Freddie to be weighed again. He's grown loads. Got to wait til he's 6 weeks to see the HV and yet weighed though. He's 5 weeks on friday.

Smiffette · 08/07/2020 16:32

@AmyMaria2 they do back date up to 12 weeks so you should get the back dated monies owed and like OP said, they process really quickly!

I am genuinely amazed how quick the weight fell off considering for the last 3 and a half weeks I have 90% of the time been firmly placed on the sofa 😂 I put on just over 3 stone, I'm 5ft 8 and normally a size 10-12.
I've got about a stone and 6 lbs to go to get back to pre pregnancy weight. Think my shape will be slightly different but I'm fine with that! Will just be nice to fit in clothes again and not live in leggings and stretchy tops!

Will be easier after 6 weeks when I can get back to exercise again

BabyBird20 · 08/07/2020 17:17

I'm so jealous of all of you that have lost weight! Other than the initial weight from giving birth I've barely lost anything as have been firmly comfort eating for 4 weeks and have zero willpower. What sort of foods (meals and snacks!) are you guys eating to keep you going?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 08/07/2020 20:02

@Blizy dd was 9lb 1 at birth and is now 13lb 13 ounces. No wonder my arms ache!!

mrssunshinexxx · 08/07/2020 20:02

@BabyBird20 through the night I have a granola bar and one of those weetabix drinks
Breakfast Greek yoghurt with honey half a banana, raspberries, blueberries, nectarine, apple basically any fruit handful of special k on top for crunch or Alpen

Lunch soup and a toastie on brown bread

Yes tonight was homemade fish curry and a packet of smarties :)

I literally don't sit still I think that's what's helping me or now hindering as I think my section wound is infected is anyone else's quite pink in the middle ?! I'm worried

Pegase · 08/07/2020 20:17

Mine went reddish in places after infected- basically top layer started opening up again. I knew it was infected because of strange smell though Envy

mrssunshinexxx · 09/07/2020 00:58

@Pegase mine doesn't smell and wound is dry

Hoping doctors want to see it rather than just prescribing antibiotics I don't want to be taking stuff like that unless it's defo infected as goes through to baby and can aldi cause thrush 😫

@babybird20 aww don't worry it will drop off in time.
I think part of the reason mine came off so quickly was that I had zero appetite the first week after she was born, I really struggled to eat anything. I had to then make a conscious effort to get eating as little one wasn't gaining enough weight.
Appetite is all back to normal now and weight loss ha slowed right down! I full expect it to take several months now to loss the last stone and a bit.

BabyBird20 · 09/07/2020 06:26

Thanks @mrssunshinexxx and @Smiffette, I think I'm finding it harder as managed to lose 4 stone before my wedding last August and have regained it all since I got pregnant in September!! It took 2 years to lose it in the first place as have always been on the bigger side and was so happy when I got to size 12/14! Hopefully will get back there but just going to try and survive the newborn phase first!!

My wound looks a little red and infected in places but I'm already on antibiotics for the mastitis!! I feel like I'm falling apart at the moment! 😩😩😩

BabyBird20 · 09/07/2020 06:30

General questions, is anyone else still struggling to get LO into a crib? We have regressed since I've been ill and he will only sleep on me or DH. If he is on one of us overnight he'll sleep calmly and quietly for 3 - 5 hours now but if we put him down it'll be anything from instant wake up to an hour of thrashing, disturbed sleep which makes me feel so guilty that we're then depriving him (and ourselves!) Of the peaceful calm sleep. Not sure what else to try at this point but can't keep this up!l have tried swaddling in a blanket, white noise, lowering sideways, reflux tilt on crib etc xx

newbyxx · 09/07/2020 08:34

@BabyBird20 I came back on here to ask the same! My LO is 6 weeks now and still won't go in his crib, he also wriggles non stop on me now so I have been co sleeping with him in my bed. I don't like to do this really and just want him to go in his crib as will be more relaxed for us all! I'm hoping he grows out of this soon! Any tips recommended I have a next to me crib and he still knows he's in it straight away! I know how you're feeling! Xx

newbyxx · 09/07/2020 08:35

@BabyBird20 how old is your little boy? X

Busylizzie85 · 09/07/2020 09:14

My Ivy did this for first couple of weeks, as soon as to put her down she wriggled about until she woke up and then screamed a lot! We persevered and now she settles better but last couple of days she's been really good, we keep it really dark in the bedroom and I try to make sure she's in deep sleep before putting her down and I have found sounds of the womb on U Tube which is 10 hours long and whether it's helping or not I don't know but she's been much more settled with less wrestles dreaming. I have also started her back on the infacol as she's been very windy which also contributed to her waking up a lot.
During the day she naps for a lot shorter periods and I try to keep her engaged when she's awake, I reckon if she's awake longer in the day then maybe she'll sleep longer at night 🤷🏻‍♀️
I have ordered a hands up swaddle bit like a grow bag it's meant to stop them startling themselves awake, could be a complete gimmick but thought I would give it ago!

Smiffette · 09/07/2020 09:38

@BabyBird20 that's a really good achievement for your wedding, the fact that you did it once shows you can do it.
Gaining weight when pregnant is expected and although some lose quite a bit in the first few weeks, I fully expect it to take time to loose the last bits. After all it takes months to gradually gain it so just be kind to yourself and take time to heal and recover and enjoy your little baby and the weight will gradually come off 🙂

Smiffette · 09/07/2020 09:42

@Busylizzie85 good to hear it paid off... my LO is 4 weeks Saturday and still won't settle. We have now got the next to me crib which is more promising, she has settled in there a couple of times albeit for just about an hour.... I'm hoping if I keep trying regularly every night she will eventually go longer.
I've had to start going up a bit earlier to bed though as she starts getting sleepy near 9, so I'm now trying a routine of bath at 9/9:15 followed by massage and feed whilst listening to lullabies. I think I just need to make sure she's asleep for a good 15 minutes before the transfer to crib.

She seems to like having her arms out so I wasn't sure about swaddling through the night. But might try it if things don't improve over the next few weeks
