I iron shirts for the boys, but have no desire to have a third child. Stick to the ironing

ds1's friend kept calling her Kipper too Just as ds1 had stopped finally!

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 20:30

Jas my sister is crap at maths. She tried to pass her GCSE last year and failed again, even though she got a 2:1 in Psycholgy at uni. There is a school of thought that states there is a form of numeracy dyslexia (Sp) and judging by my sister, I can quite believe it. Just encourage her, and try not to get her flustered.

The bed is shocking but..... because of my course coinciding with ds2 refusing to go down to sleep as beautifully as he has for the past 15 months, taking 2 hours of screaming and shouting before he'd settle, we decided to move him up with ds. This has worked but in the morning he shouts and rattles his cage, waking ds and then they shout to get ds2 up so he can play. We figure that if he can get out of bed and play, it might just give us an extra n minutes sleep He hasn't settled well tonight, mainly because he is over tired as my parents haven't given him a daytime nap. But after an hour when dh went tos ettle him he was still curled up in his bed, he just wasn't sleeping. I may well live to regeret the decision.

My 2nd cousin was going to purchase everything off ebay so at least his Thai bride (!) can relax in the knowledge she knows where it has come from, and actually view it before they buy.

Flamesparrow · 14/10/2007 20:31

I still think Kipper

another @ feed refusal

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 20:33

Has she got ulcers in her mouth csws? It may account for refusal.

CountessPHOENIXula · 14/10/2007 20:34

Well i made the pork but it didn't crackle I listened to my friend who said she never rubs salt on it, just pours a bit of oil over it and then lets it cook in its own juices and she always has lovely crackling. So next time i'll stick to the rubbing with salt and oil like i've done before. The pork was done perfectly though

for dd csws hope she isn't coming down with anything.

for bed macca.

for broody Flame.

mrm - my ds doesn't say words either. Apart from 'dada' which means anything and everything. Oh and 'hiya'. For 'no' he just shakes his head and pulls a face

Hope you here from your mum soon mrm

mustrunmore · 14/10/2007 20:35

How diffrerent our mornings are. Ours currently goes.... ds2 wakes 5.30 if in his cot, but usuallly 5.45 in our bed . Gets a book and reads it for 10 mins. Goes back into their room and leaps on ds1, turns his light on, wakes him up screaming. They both come back in my room and shriek until ds1 sees the clock start with a 7 so its daytime. Then we get dressed and go for brekkie.

Flamesparrow · 14/10/2007 20:37

Foolish woman your friend - ALL roasts need oodles of salt to be good

I much prefer my morning - DD wakes and comes in and asks if she can go downstairs - if it is 6am or later "Yes", if not "No! Geddabeditsthemiddleofthenight"... she pootles downstairs when she's allowed and rummages for yoghurts or on the special mornings finds her bowl of cereal all laid out, and a little pot with the right amount of milk in the fridge

Watches TV til we emerge. DS wakes any time from 7am, or when he is woken to take DH to work.

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 20:41

Ours is very similar mrm, in taht our mornigns begin anytime between 5 and 5.30 with ds2 shouting ;muuuummmmmy' 'mummmmmmmm' then dh goe sup and gets him and takes him in while he has a shower, meanwhile ds comes down and stands by my bed checking if I'm awake, he then climbs in for a snuggle byw hich time ds2 has bounded out of the bathroom and is running around shouting. However if ds2 wakes earlier than 5.30 then we just leave him to shout and then ds wakes and shouts but he stays with him, passing him toys and ds2 lobs them out and orders soemthing different!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/10/2007 20:43

I wondered that too macca, but she wouldn't let us look . We did inspect her hands and feet though, in case it was HF&M.

Just went up for a second time, and she took a little gentle bf from one side which made her sleepy, and has now gone down ok.

Right, now to catch up properly....

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 20:46

ds2 didn't get blisters on his hands for a few days after they appeared in his mouth.... anyway there's nothing you can give them if it is hf&m

CountessPHOENIXula · 14/10/2007 20:55

Our mornings are he wakes up 6.30-7ish, plays in his cot, banging around doing god knows what but now he's directly above us it sounds like he's gonna come through our ceiling, then after about half an hour he starts shouthing 'dada dada' then one of us goes up to get him.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/10/2007 20:57

Now all this talk of flame being broody, and we still don't know about dame. Does she not realise how much we all neeeeed to know?

My mornings consist of dd waking (usually) anytime between 5:45 and 6:45, me getting her up and bringing her in to bed with me for a bf, then us getting up, her saying that she wants breakfast, even though she usually doesn't, me eating breakfast whilst dd pours her cereal back and forwards from her bowl to mine/her cup, me sneaking a few mins on MN whilst drinking my coffee, then me going up for a shower whilst dd watches tv in my bedroom. Only then do I get her dressed, as eating in her clothes is not advised .

I'd wondered about moving her cotbed into the bed position, so will be interested to hear how you get on macca.

I am a good cook, but really struggle with pork crackling. No idea why.

mrm - am worried for you about your mum, mostly because I would have expected someone to call you whatever the outcome was. Do you know the names of her neighbours, whereby you could get their number and ask them to pop round?

at Kipper. How do you have a long conversation about the differences if there is only one? (Kipper is a dog right - never seen it?).

mrm - you were a right cry baby weren't you?! I loved Heidi, and still want to call another girl by that name.

How old are children generally when they learn to tell the time? I have no idea about these things.

I'd better not mention how many words dd is saying now then, but 'push' has been there for a while, either for opening the toilet door, or for her pushchair.

mustrunmore · 14/10/2007 20:57

at 6.30-7. But surely if he says dada, you shouldn't have to go and get him?!

CountessPHOENIXula · 14/10/2007 21:00

But dada means everything to him

If dh isn't at work i make him get him because i always put him to bed and get him up the time's he is it work so it's only fair he does something

mustrunmore · 14/10/2007 21:02

Yep, we have that rule too
Er, dada means dada, but beedoo means everything else except nah.

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 21:02

brekkie is done in pj's here too csws. Always has, always will. They don't get dressed until I'm showered and ready. it's such a slow and laborious job

Jas · 14/10/2007 21:04

you are all here chatting, and fil is sat waiting for me to go to bed so he can go to sleep.

My morning is alarm clock at 6 wakes ds....I make tea, coffee and warm milk, while dp showers, then if dd1 is awake we go downstairs, or I leave ds hoping he will drop back off. All downstairs by 6.30, usually. dd2 often sleeps through it all, and comes down in her own sweet time.

dp is homenow
he will force fil to stay up, so I do't feel I have to o up and hide an more.

2boysmacca · 14/10/2007 21:05

I swear, perfect crackling doesn't need anything rubbed into it, jut take it out of it's packaging, put on a plate and let it dry out in the fridge overnight. Cook normally then take the fat off pork 30 mins before the end of cooking and continue to cook. It's perfect, I guarantee!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/10/2007 21:05

Can I share a pic of dd for no particular reason?
Taken at the inlaws today, whilst we were playing with the leaves. We went there for lunch straight after going swimming, and only just made it home in time for tea!

CountessPHOENIXula · 14/10/2007 21:07

When ds 1st moved up into the attic i started dressing him when i got him up to save me coming back up 2 flights of stairs later but that plan didn't last very long now i just get his clothes out and take them down with me and dress him when i'm ready.

Jas · 14/10/2007 21:07

DD2 still can't be relied on to eat weetabix in school uniform. Breakfast then clothes until you leave hme in this house.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/10/2007 21:07

Would keep you fitter if you just went up the extra time .

Jas · 14/10/2007 21:08

I did pork today Perfect cracklin

I sliced it off the meat once it was cooked and put it under a hot grill for 30 seconds. They all loved it

Jas · 14/10/2007 21:10

lovely pic csws

I've promised sil a picture, so when get round to it, I may share ds with you too.
