I don't have paypal so have donated to Debra. I'm glad the funeral went well, I was thinking of Vio this morning .

Octo, I'm rather of your DH as mine has totally refused to agree to having another baby to the point of saying he'll go for a vasectomy if he thinks I'm not going to take contraception seriously. Humph.

SOL, good to hear that the Big School week has gone smoothly. When does she start full days?

Sorry some are having crap nights again. J is up twice a night but for him that is fantastic. He feeds quickly and goes straight back to sleep. I hadn't realised how tired I was getting until the last few evenings when I was still awake at 10pm instead of passed out on the sofa.

Tumbletots tomorrow then my parents and sister are coming for roast dinner on sunday. I have given up potty training - total poo nightmare......

Leaky, we got a copy of The Gruffalo this week as well. And The Gruffalo's Child. dp went to visit his mum and meet up with her in town (Kings Lynn) the day after she came out of hospital - it's brilliant that she wants to get out and about again, I think - and she was very keen to get her grandson another pressie, so dp brought both books home. Very sweet of her, much appreciated.

octoandflash · 14/09/2007 20:11

I love the gruffalo books and the snail and the whale etc - fab series of books. Mine are into Horrid Henry at the moment

Have entered the Led Zeppelin ballot.

FIL is here for the weekend - no tears yet - he seems okay.

I have been quite up for 4 recently - lots of sex and no contraception very naughty - maybe I am still in the mummy goggle babymoon thing. The thing I am most dreading is people saying horrible things when/if tell them am pg with no.4 - at least this time it would be a conscious decision to have another damn the wine! I made a real effort to be really nice to another school mum who has 3 girls and is expecting no.4 - she wants another girl which is cool.

The one thing I am dreading is - well actually more than one thing - is
a) pregnancy in general - lest we forget
b) other peoples odd comments

Birth or having 4 don't worry me at all - but what if its TWINS???!!! I think if I say it it will never happen but would secretly like identical twin girls (we have twins on maternal side!)

DH has promised that if we go for it I can have a cleaner!!! oh yeah, alright then ....

Ah that was the most totally self absorbed post!

tcmummy · 14/09/2007 20:12

there's loads here on ebay

Bugmum · 14/09/2007 20:38

Hi All,
Can't pretend I keep up, but I read when I can and try to make sense of the name changes and in-jokes (I fail, miserably). I did see the sad news and am so very sorry.

I just saw the mei-tei (sp???) mentioned; I have one and it's the bestist sling ever, ever, ever. I used a pouch when G was really small and keep a ring sling in our car but now take my mei-tei everywhere. Soooo comfy and versatile and secure-feeling. Lovely. Stylish, too. Saw also about all this trying for another baby stuff. Blimey!! I hope Octo's DH will be okay about it if you do get another boy? Lovely news, though.

The only news I have is that I realize I've got much braver. DS1 is meant to be starting playgroup in October but I know he isn't ready and I also know this will be read (incorrectly) as parental anxiety, and I don't care! His welfare comes first. I want him to start after Christmas, when it will still be tricky but I hope not impossible and they can lump it.

I think this is caused by taking G to be weighed. He was born on the 50th centile, shot up to the 75th and then I hadn't had him weighed since he was 8 weeks old. Took him last week out of curiosity and he'd dropped down to between the 25th and the 50th. Now, he was teething and had just had his jabs, which I reckon could have accounted for a little, but the HVs were all,
'Ooh, we don't like this. Come again in two weeks and if he hasn't improved you'll need to see a pediatrician.' WTF??? Bfed baby, by the way, so the charts aren't relevant. The HV also doesn't seem to realize that even using the charts, the anomaly could be the 75th period!! Sure, I want to get him checked, but by the time any appointment came through, he'd be on solids anyway. So have gone bolshie all round.

Only other news is that DS1 has bitten G a couple of times Bugger.

Sorry, mega-post but I'm never on here. If you are still reading, I hope those of you who had PND are recovering, and that everything is going well.
Love,
Bugmum xx

Sexonlegs · 14/09/2007 20:41

Evening all!

Octo, pmsl at if you have a fourth you can have a cleaner!!!Dh has agreed to me using an ironing lady which I am ecstatic about!
I wonder what I would get if I had a third??? High blood pressure, grey hair and wrinkles methinks!

Tcmummy, sadly the nap didn't last long. I knew it wouldn't. B just cannot leave K alone. Poor K is knackered.

Ange, B does carry K around a fair bit which tbh I don't mind, as she is very strong and also very gentle.

What did piss me off tho was when I went to change K's nappy, B had obviously been messing about with it and undone it. Fortunately the poo hadn't leaked out.

Gave K some more rusk to chew on this afternoon. Poor lamb choked on a bit and puked everywhere [naughty mummy emoticon].

Right, dh back with curry, so best get on. Back soon. xx

liath · 14/09/2007 20:43

Hi Bugmum & two fingers to your HVs!

WO, did you say you had sleeping bags for sale? Are they unisex?

mammyjo · 14/09/2007 20:48

My mum took F to be weighed today. At 24 weeks she is 14lb 14.5oz and going up the 25th centile quite happily. She is weeny compared to some on here, but she is thriving so I am happy with that!

elkiedee · 14/09/2007 20:51

What's this about the Led Zep ticket ballot? Are all 3 survivors back together and who's the drummer. I don't think I'd want tickets, I just enjoy listening to their early albums, but I will try and get into the ballot if you tell me how - is it online?
