mmk - why did you stay away so long? & what does mmk stand for?

I am so nosey

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:22

R just goes mad for anything at all, especially if it is mixed with baby rice. I bet she'll turn into a picky eater later though.

If her feeding is interupted, or I run out, she literally growls at me. HVgot a bit of a fright I can tell you.

elkiedee · 15/09/2007 21:22

I have to confess to using disposables, but think I'd be much more likely to consider reusables now than I would have been a few months ago, all the nappy talk on here makes it sound more fun. Mind you, I always thought having to deal with nappies would be really yukky, and I don't find that generally it bothers me all that much. One thing that stops me noticing the icky side of it is that D goes from screeching to smiling so quickly when he knows I'm about to change his nappy and stop him feeling so uncomfortable.

oooggs · 15/09/2007 21:23

is freezing glass ok then octo?

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:23

and most of the fruit he gets is the organix pots as is cheaper to buy them in pots and it does actually taste like it says rather than the usual pale orange non-descript crap most produce!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:25

yes - just don't overfill the pots as the food will expand when you freeze.

With ice cubes - freeze them in trays then put in a re-sealable bag.

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:25

octo yes, and maveta's tale about feeding near teenagers, I made sure never to get caught out.

I stayed away because I thought the thread had ended and computer was up the creek for weeks. MMK stands for Marina in Milton Keynes (obviously I mean the executive part thereof.

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:29

I make all white dinner and desserts for when we are out and about, which is nearly every day. It just doesnt stain clothes like the orange sfuff does.

StealthPolarBear · 15/09/2007 21:30

Ha ha SOL if the cloth nappies are all after you then I'm safe!
Although it sounds as though nutty has enough to chase us all!
elkie, completely agree with you that the poo thing (something I dreaded dealing with when pg) is absolutely nothing at all, and T also loves being changed, I think it's the few brief seconds of freedom when he has a bare bum!

Idreamofchocolate · 15/09/2007 21:32

OK, cannot keep up.....you lot talk too fast, so not even gonna pretend to join in the conversation.

SOL - I mix the baby rice with mashed banana, or pureed apple/pear. S has only just got going on 'solids' (mush), so she's not had a great range of things so far. Must try some veg this week. Am also using a doidy cup to give her some water whilst she has her tea. She seems to enjoy grabbing hold of the cup and trying to guide to towards her mouth herself. Needless to say, she always needs a bath after tea.

Got myself a wrap carrier this week, and I have to say, it is fab. Am gonna chuck my Baby Bjorn away, it is sooooo uncomfortable, non-supportive and un-versatile compared to wrapping her up. I carried S in the wrap for a couple of hours today and it was so comfortable, no back ache, and she felt so secure and seemed really happy in it. Have put a pic of us on my profile so you can see her tied to me

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:32

R is like a little mustard factory! she loves having her nappy off too.

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:34

At tea time I let ernie hold his spoon and he gets covered in food! But he does try to put it in his mouth - I do most of the food then hand over to him - put food on spoon - then he rather hilariously tries to eat it! He loves his doidy cup but most of it does end upd own his front. He then has a bath and goes to bed!

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:34

going to give dh some attention whilst he is in the bath, and admire his (still) tight botty

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:35

Never really occured to give them white food! That sounds like someones sister on here - was it ellies or dippys??!!!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:36

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:36

I'm off to bed now

Idreamofchocolate · 15/09/2007 21:37

Idreamofchocolate · 15/09/2007 21:38

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:42

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 21:44

Idreamofchocolate · 15/09/2007 21:46

Idreamofchocolate · 15/09/2007 21:47
