Luckily we have our owwn qiuet little corner of "sanity" here.

Ouch for your toe Ria, did you stub it on something? I'm always doing that.

Schools are crap in this country, according to unicef they are the worst in europe, although thee elementary school in our village is supposed to be good it just goes downhill from there
DH went to a British school in rome but it's unlikely wee could ever afford that aand we'd havee to move house.

Sorry about my keeyboard, it's getting worse, I sound like Gollum

riabutterflew · 12/09/2007 10:29

lol at your keyboard,my old one had a sticky e cos i spilt wine on it.

think i banged my toe on the side of the bath. ds2 keeps standing on it

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 10:30

Sorry about Sputnik's nursery, Ria's toe and Daisy's foot. I had major foot pain after DD's birth, even had xray to check for fracture, but ended up being told that many women get arthritic type symptoms post natally, all down to the hormones (now there's a surprise) and it should clear in a few months. Thankfully it is improving, much better now.

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/09/2007 11:40

know a few of you were aware of Vio & baby James on North of border thread. So sad to let you know that wee james died yesterday.

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/09/2007 11:42

oh see you already heard. hadn't had computer on yesterday or properly caught up today.

bumperlicious · 12/09/2007 12:15

It's really sad T

Did you get DD's jab appointment sorted?

DD has just been for hers. another nurse held her because i am too much of a wuss. does that make me a bad mum?

she's pretty upset still so i've put her in the sling or i can see this being another one of those days where i don't get anythiong done - like eat or pee!

had a v scary incident on the way home. i carried dd as she was still upset and pushed the pram. i stopped to pick out one of my hairs from dd's fist that she was sucking (yes, soon i shall have no hair!) and heard a noise and looked around to see the pram careering down a steep hill towards a block of flats hit the curb and flip over. thank god i was holding dd! so a warning, if you have swivley wheels and stop next to a slope put the break on!

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 12:35

i'm back and in a much better frame of mind

made it to WW.....i'm loving the 10 extra bf points.

we saw about James, tallulah. so so sad. Poor Vio and hr dh and families, it must have been so difficult for them over the short few months of his life

the in the news thnig is all to do with the MM speculation. Lots of regular posters are fed up with the ever more lurid thread titles and the fact that a new one is started for every development. Knuckles were wrapped for bumping a thread out of existence, there was a very public bitch fest between little lapin, and haychee (one of the nasty thread posters, although she namechangeds and said some vicious things), so the latest proliferation of silly news topics is to stop the lurid thread titles being in active convos as MN won't stop them. There was talk last night of a regular poster strike from Thu to Mon too.
all a bit silly and childish IMHO, although i did report one thread which was trying to make a sick joke out of MMs disappearance. There, now you know!

about your runaway pram bumper...good job she wasn't in it, but we've all done it. You are perfectly normal for getting upset about DDs jabs. No-one likes inflicting pain on their DC.

about the italian schools sputnik.

Jamantha, I'll bear that in mind abouut the arthritis symptoms....and take some cod liver oil and glucosamine.

OP posts:
sputnik · 12/09/2007 12:41

That's intereesting about the arthritic pains Jamantha, hopefully that explains why I feeel so bloody stiff in the mornung aand it's not a preview of the rest of my life!

Well got DD back from thee nursery, she seems ok and said it wasn't too bad so maybee there is hope leeft. I'm going tomorrow with my neighbour to see the nursery in thee next village though.

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/09/2007 12:45

Have managed to get appt for jags on Fri @ another clinic. Its a bit out of the way but my dad will take us. Don't think yr a wuss Bumper, I found the 1st jags a lot more traumatic than i thought i wd - was the way DD looked at me with such bewilderment it tore at my heartstrings.

Scary pram incident, glad she was in yr arms. I let go of mine to try & wrestle with a shop door & it started to roll - slowly thankfully- towards the road. Can see how a moments distraction cd have horrendous consequences. Scary as I'm so easily distracted at mo.

BadZelda · 12/09/2007 12:51

Hello there...back now and feeling a bit more cheerful. Sorry to post and then disappear. Took Ella to see what the nursery was like (not the one I want her to go to but the only one with immediate availability)...it's not that great but I don't think she'll come to any actual harm there. Just feeling a bit blue and underappreciated - DH gave me a whole guilt trip about putting her in nursery at all - when she'd be in a much better one starting now if he'd registered her in april when he was supposed to. Arrrhgghhh. I'm not being unreasonable wanting to give me and DD1 a bit of space from each other a couple of mornings a week when I've got DD2 to look after to, am I?

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 12:52

DH thought I was a bit over-protective using the wrist strap on our Phil&Ted (though I think he sees the sense now) but having read this I'm glad I do.

bumperlicious · 12/09/2007 13:06

BZ, of course you are not being unreasonable. yiu want to spend quality time with DD2. dd1 had you to herself for a few years. it'll b good for us, i bet she'll have loads of fun. DH needs to try staying at home day after day with 2 little ones.

dh doesn't think it is that bad, but the longest he's done it for alone is 3 hours! to be fair at the weekend he does the lion's share, but he has me to take over which makes all the difference. when you are on your own you have no-one to hand over to when things get tough.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 13:10

Not unreasonable at all BZ.....The six weeks of the school holiday was sheer hell for me and I'm so glad DS is back at school. I think he is doing better for it too as he isn't feeling so left out as I can plan my day around spending time with him when he gets home. DD1 will get a lot out of it as well.

I've just phoned up the place i ordered my bambinex and tots wraps from and started giving an earbashing about the lateness of my order. she picked up mid rant and just listened to me....then she started on about how she has been having problems with Royal Mail and it is having a detrimental effect on her business and her ebay shop is suffering as she;'s getting bad feedback. I felt awful.

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 13:13

oooh, 9 years ago today at this time I didn't know what I wanted for lunch, so I had scampi and chips.

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 13:15

And sorry, I forgot in my excitement, NOT unreasonable BZ

riabutterflew · 12/09/2007 13:26

how do you know that jamantha?

riabutterflew · 12/09/2007 13:50

our bloody council. think we should expect the plague again. we will only be getting our bins emptied fortnightly, and cannot have a bigger bin as there now has to bbe 7 people living in a house, not 5 as it used to be.

how did that letter go that holly wrote to her local council?!

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 13:50

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 13:54

SO it is a bit of a memorable day. I don't have that good a memory

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 14:13

LOL at you having scampi and chips for your lunch on your wedding day Jamantha

How is DD today?

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 14:15

And Happy Anniversary!

Shouldn't you be off preening and pampering yourself for DHs yearly romp?

It is, after all, around a year since we all conceived

OP posts:
Jamantha · 12/09/2007 14:16

She's fine thanks, Daisy.

We had a civil ceremony at 3pm, in a hotel, and we all had lunch together at 1 in the hotel restaurant before going off to our rooms to get ready.

Jamantha · 12/09/2007 14:18

Well I have tidied the dining room so we eat at the table instead of on the sofa. And DH is instructed to pick up something delicious, but easy, from Waitrose for tea. I've got another month until that anniversary though.
