Don't apologise Bumper. As I said am relieved don't have to face just such ishoos right now.

BadZelda · 10/09/2007 11:16

I long for the days when I could get away with that bumper...trying to fold laundry whilst DD2 coos at me from her changing mat...but DD2 keeps grabbing it and running around the house throwing it on the floor....in between trashing her room and the sitting room and drawing on everything in sight with the crayon she has SOMEHOW stashed somewhere...could have SWORN I put them all away! AARRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Look on the bright side: at least your DD doesn't see your tidying as an opportunity to add to the chaos!

Jamantha · 10/09/2007 11:17

Right. Seen doc, got piriton and "balneam hermal" (to go in bath, contains local anaesthetic, sounds wonderful) for itching. As I suspected he says a reaction to a virus. Have taken piriton. All I got to do now is get DD settled so I can take a bath.

Ironically, although she normally screams within a minute of being put down unless it's bedtime, when I put her in cot while I used loo prior to going to docs she stayed asleep and I had to wake her to change her nappy before we went out. If only I could get a repeat performance, I might get that bath.

Not much tactile going on here either. I want to (as in I don't want to have a sexless relationship) but I haven't felt like it and/or have been to exhausted. Is reassuring to hear we're not the only ones. I really want to want to be intimate though.

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 11:22

ROLF BZ!! I'm sure Alice and Ella are twins! Bloody crayons! Alice spreads them out on the floor and then stands on them!

Daisy, do you want to buy my Maclaren XLR? It is the orange one on the Mothercare website.

Charlie999 · 10/09/2007 11:24

My dog eats crayons and has rainbow poos

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 11:25

jamantha, can you pop her in her bouncy chair and bring it into the bathroom? DD loves watching what's going on when I'm in the bath.

LOL bumper at your cupboards. i'm now sitting feedng dd on the sofa sorrounded by piles and piles of laundry; dh dumped it all in the living room so he could get to the desk in the back room. have no option bt get itsorted, but dd having other ideas, obviously!

is it yours to sell holly???? do you get to keep them all then?

and how do i get to be a M&B reviewer?

We've decided (ie DH has decided ) that we don't need another buggy until the Techno XT is truly gubbed. I'm sure that can be easily arranged

how much would you want for it?...out of interest

Bunper I know exactly where you are coming from I have felt like this both times. I feel like bf takes enough away from me and I don't have space for any more physical demands on me. The first weeks were very hard when ds 1 and 2 were all over me all the time. But it is settling down now and I'm starting to feel more myself again
Your dh sounds very understanding and I would say give it time pregnancy and birth are very demanding on our bodies and our minds and these days I think we all expect to get back to normal within a couple of weeks but it takes longer than that

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 11:38

Well, I emailed the testing organiser woman over a week ago asking her what she wants me to do with the pushchairs and she hasn't got back to me. She can't expect us to keep them for much longer, I am literally falling over them!

Not sure how much I'd want for it, not very much. I have decided to keep my Zapp and use it as a stroller with the car seat until ds is big enough to use it just as a pushchair. We could probably bring it up to you as well.

riabutterflew · 10/09/2007 11:40

lol bz at you dh and bicycle pictures. we have that with combi-ovens and stainless steel. weird

hang on bumper, it will be ok, just takes time. for now stick with a glass of wine together in the evenings andsilly fun arguments over a board game or crappy tv. also as ta suggested go with "family time" too. if you can have a chilled day together with dd, just walking or whatever and get a break from home, then a snuggly sofa evening is a natural progression, and that other stuff will come back soon enough.

by the time yu have three dcs neither of you will be bothered - stock up on cycling/kitchen eqpt catalogues

andiem · 10/09/2007 11:44

my dh is the same with model helicopters he builds and flys them for a hobby. The other day he said I'm gong to watch a clip I've downloaded from the net and I thought oi what are you watching. It was a bit about how to build a tricky bit of the helicopter I call it nerd porn

riabutterflew · 10/09/2007 11:46

men are creepy

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 11:50

My dp lovingly cleans and polishes his golf clubs almost every day. It's sort of like masturbation I think!

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 11:51

Shit ds's jabs are at 12.30 and I'm not even dressed yet! Byeee!!

andiem · 10/09/2007 11:55

I don't think women would do it we are too busy on mn

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 11:58

My Dhs guilty secret is cameras....unless he has a secret collection of "Big'n'Busty" hidden in the attic...i never go up there, but he's always "sorting things out in the attic"

We actually found a collection of 1940s/1950s "porn" mags in the attic when we moved in here....very demure looking topless/naked ladies in a varity of domestic situations with nipples and fanjo hair/detail brushpainted out. DH said they are about as erotic as shop dummies, but i suppose they were very risque in their day.

wonder if they are collectable?

holly, how much is not much....and how about lunch on me as delivery charge?

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 11:59

Nappies are my new porn

except that sounds a bit creepy.....

trendaverter · 10/09/2007 12:17

Yes I think that's why Ebay doesn't allow the sale of them
they are classified as 'new mother porn'

trendaverter · 10/09/2007 12:19

Going to check out nurseries later

Jamantha · 10/09/2007 12:21

LOL at 50s porn. We found 1952 copy of The Guardian under the carpets when we ripped them up. Headline story? Outrage at how much the royal family was spending. I guess not much changes after all.

trendaverter · 10/09/2007 12:24

Who wants to earn some money as a mystery shopper?

I was given a whole load of details yesterday. You can earn between £5-£20 per assignment plus sometimes you get to keep the goods, or go overseas or stay in hotels, all sorts.

foxybrown · 10/09/2007 12:25

you guys are funny!

Bumper - give yourself 6 months before expecting things to be vaguely normal. Great idea from TA - go out for dinner as a threesome. We used to take DS1 out and he'd sleep in his car seat under the table.

I resisted posting on your thread as I am totally intolerent of any needs/wants or desires DP might have. FFS he has 4 children, do we really need to get down it AGAIN? No, I think not.

Sadly, new dads come at the bottom of the pile at the mo. Its just the way it is, only they don't understand that. It goes Baby, Eating, Sleeping, Washing, thinking about yourself for a nanosecond, Cleaning, Dad IMO. But its not forever, just a few months. But Daisy made an excellent point - don't let it get to the point of resentment - so its fantastic you guys are talking about it.

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 12:25

TA

ebay sucks....you can buy adult sized nappies and dummies, but not laundered second hand nappies!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 10/09/2007 12:25

Oh me TA! I do!
