loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 08:52

Morning!

Can someone tell me I'm mad if I buy my dd some tops from Boden?!

Jamantha · 10/09/2007 09:25

Morning. No experience of Boden, but happy to oblige: You're clearly bonkers, woman!

Still red and itchy all over, had roughnight with it, so off to doc in 45 mins. Tried to get some piriton last night but our local shops only did antihistamines NOT to be taken if breastfeeding so had to do without. Skin on left calf now so swollen it hurts to walk. I was almost crying when going to DD in the night. Sorry, am feeling v.sorry for self, as you can probably tell.

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 09:27

Mornin Holly. Don't know about Boden - is it v exp?

Can't believe we've all missed out on 120 quid to eat healthily in pg.

And Glasgow doesn't do nappy incentive scheme either

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 09:29

Sorry J missed yr post. Hope u get something from yr doc to help. Sounds painful.

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 09:33

Go to the Dr J! Free prescription! They should be able to give you something to be taken whilst bfing, I have some piriton syrup which is ok. Hope it gets better soon!

Boden is v expensive and I am clearly mad! It's all so lovely though!

Just rang the council and they don't do any cloth nappy incentives. Bastards! I do, however, now have the name and address of the head of waste for southampton city council. He shall be receiving a very strongly worded letter from me within the next few days!

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 09:34

I know tallulah! I want £120! I am still waiting to hear if I can get the £500 maternity grant. Hope I can, it might go someway to paying the gas!

Charlie999 · 10/09/2007 09:38

Morning

Good for you Holly - our council doesn't do any incentive schemes either....be interesting to see if you can persuade them

Jamantha - hope you get something for your skin....sounds really horrible and irritating. Do you have any cold cream that will soothe it for a while until anti-histamines get going? I'm plastering that on my face atm!

Sorry all its taking me so long to do my scrab moves. Holly - I bow to your skills! Bloody hell - I need to practice

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 09:40

It's all about practise charlie, I have no superior word skills. I can't even do countdown ffs!! It's all about using the bonus squares and trying to get more than one word at a time!

Right, off to compose my letter of complaint! I don't know what to write!

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 09:41

How about...

Dear Twunts,

You are all twunts. Gimme free nappies now you twunts!!

Love Holly xx

Charlie999 · 10/09/2007 09:43

think you might need to be a little more tactful.......

Jamantha · 10/09/2007 09:49

Our council doesn't give "real nappy" (as opposed to those fake disposables) incentives either, more's the pity.

Charlie, have been through half a bottle of cocoa butter lotion since yesterdat lunchtime. It provides relief for about 10 seconds. Anyway, time to get things together to go to see doc.

loonylovegood · 10/09/2007 09:50

I've got about a million things to put on ebay and my freaking turbo lister won't work! It's all in american!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 09:59

Bloody HV has gone on hols. My DD is due her jags tomorrow & the clinic is cancelled for the next 2 wks. Don't object to her having a holiday but shouldn't she have let me know last time & shoildn't someone be covering her clinic? If we have to wait another fortnight then she will miss her 3rd lot as we will be on our way to Oz. I deliberately chose our travel dates around her immunisations & now this happens & buggers everything up.

bumperlicious · 10/09/2007 10:01

Jamantha, hope your skin gets better.

I'm having a few issues with DH here, am I the only one

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 10:09

tallulah, can you go to another clinic that's local to you. Here, as well as the clinic at the doctors surgery, there are a coupke of alternatives, including one that's linked with the sure start centre which is a drop in. Or you can make an appointment with the practice nurse as its them that do it anyway. Call your doctors surgery and explain how urgent it is!

Hope you feel better soon Jamantha

Am tackling my laundry hotspot today!

Charlie999 · 10/09/2007 10:21

Aww Bumper - think you got some great advice on your thread....you're certainly not the only one!

I found after a while I began again to feel like I did before I got pg (made me realise how much being pg changed me as well)...with me it was like beetroot said...just holding hands when we were out and doing things together again...eating out in the local pub when I'm too knackered to cook...oh and a cuddle every night and morning - even if for a few minutes....and when you remember how nice the intimacy of hugs and cuddles are the rest will follow naturally ....your DH sounds great and I'm sure you will get as much time as you need

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/09/2007 10:26

My doc surgery no f*ing use - already asked there when appt not thru & told 'nothing to do with us love.' Hopefully the person i spoke to on phone today will try & get me appt at another clinic. Why does nothing ever run smoothly??

Bump - poor you. Am sure the situation u describe is v common. I felt pretty much like that, exhausted, leaky boobs, wobbly tummy. Its just not sexy & you just don't feel yourself at all. Of course then my DH skedaddles to other side of world so i don't have to deal with that side of things. TBH its quite a relief as its just not an issue. Think that all it needs is time & a bit more patience & understanding from DH.

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 10:26

bumper, I've posted on your other thread, but yes you're perfectly normal and so is your DH. Keep talking about how you feel though, as if resentments start to build then it is harder to recover from that.

A few hours quality you and him time sounds like just the ticket!

Right my laundry hotspot won't tackle itself....

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 10/09/2007 10:28

I'm going to go and give DH a quick cuddle first though....

BadZelda · 10/09/2007 10:28

Awwwww got to love dd2....she is so lazy! Despite DD1s concerted efforts since 7.30am she has only just woken up for a nice feed. I wish i could do that!

BadZelda · 10/09/2007 10:30

and my dh doesn't seem to miss sex. in fact i thought he was odd for not owning / looking at any porn till i realised he spends several hours every day looking at pictures of bicycles......

trendaverter · 10/09/2007 10:34

Bumper, I know how you feel...these things REALLY helped us...
-Mum babysitting so we could go out for dinner and maybe a movie (and no baby talk!)
-Going out for dinner as a 3 some, DS in tow
-Yesterday we took a picnic to a local park, just chilled under a tree with a couple of stale sandwiches, but it's quality time, you know?
Otherwise the advice on the thread all sounds good!

bumperlicious · 10/09/2007 10:43

Thanks guys. At least he was honest, and he was very reasonable about it. Sorry for whinging T when you don't even have your DH around, that must be so much harder. about your appointment troubles!

BZ, wow that's a long sleep!

I stupidly decided to give the kitchen a really good clean while DD was asleep, pulled everything out of the cupboards...now she's awake it it'll probably stay in an even worse mess that it was all day!
