Hi all

We've just been to a hippy festival type thing. It's a fair where everything is solar powered and eco friendly, with live music, juggling workshops and I saw a travelling homeopath. It was great, would have stayed for longer but was a bit noisy and chilly for DD, was nice to d something different though.

God my hose is such a state! I really cannot be bother to tidy up, especially when we are moving in a few weeks, just seems pointless!

justbeme · 02/09/2007 16:21

Hi - Daisy another question about nappies!
Those bumhuggers look so nice - but then you have to put a wrap on which covers them all up!! So why go to all the bother of getting fancy looking nappies?

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 16:29

it's worse with the bumhuggers jbm...the fleece goes to the inside of the nappy!

I suppose using coloured fleece just lets people express themselves a bit I suppose....why have plain when you can get fancy for the same price...the fleece on these acts a stay dry liner. ellas house recommend them as a night nappy and they do an unlined one for daytime use which is plainer.

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 16:33

that was a close run thing charlie

justbeme · 02/09/2007 16:34

ok thanks Daisy, questions, questions!! I will actually get round to buying some at SOME point!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 16:47

jbm, you could try a trial kit from someone like babykind. That'll give you the chance to figure out what sort you like. They should have an agent in your area as well so you can have a look/feel of the different types. Easy Peasy bimbles andbumbles are lovely plain terry ones with a fleece liner and pocket for boosting which look so cute on. I've got a bimble and its lovely, but is getting a bit nippy on her now . I'm going to get some bumbles as well....if I can convince DH we need more!! (sometime his working away has it's distinct advantages)

And if you want to see colours....nature babies wraps are nice. I've just got a pink ginham one (which is just looovely) but it's a bit big so I've not tried it yet.

Babykind website is good for listing advantages and disadvantages.

oh you've got me started again!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 16:51

jbm...as a gardener, you'll appreciate this. We've had a worm explosion in our compost bin . A few weeks ago they were all curled up together in a ball....last week when DH took the lid off there were worms everywhere, there is literally thousands of them. We can only think that they must have been having some kind of mass orgy before, the dirty beggars.

Our compost is looking lovely though. they are making short work of everything that's thrown at them

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 17:03

look at these....i want some!!

annobal · 02/09/2007 17:13

Daisy, you are addicted

Jamantha · 02/09/2007 17:27

I feel sick Been feeling sick and windy most of the afternoon and had to rush to the loo a couple of times. Feeling a bit woozy and cold too. I think something I've eaten hasn't agreed with me very well. I've fed Baby Jamantha this afternoon, and presume that won't do her any harm?

annobal · 02/09/2007 17:29

Poor you, Jamantha. Won't do baby any harm, it won't pass through the breast milk. Hope you feel better soon.

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 17:39

aw jamantha....sorry you're feeling rough. i hope it passess quickly. have an early night and drink lots of fluids.

Jamantha · 02/09/2007 17:46

Thanks folks. I'm now sipping peppermint tea, which is soothing at least. But plan big Sunday roast for tea is out if the window. I don't fancy anything more than toast, so the chicken is in the fridge until tomorrow and DH will have to fend for himself. And yet another Sunday goes past without clearing out baby's room to clear space to construct the cot. Let's hope she'll fit in the moses basket for another week

Charlie999 · 02/09/2007 17:48

Daisy, what sort of farking word is UT???? ....2 farking points

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 17:50

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 17:50

d'ye fancy a re-match??

Charlie999 · 02/09/2007 17:51

yeah, I'm - lost by 2 points! Must admit I used dictionary for QI

Charlie999 · 02/09/2007 17:52

Yeah go on then...may take a while inbetween cooking dinner etc

Have you had a better day today?

daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 18:00

we've been feeding and cuddling all day and the cheese string has gone. been trying different positions and soreness on the wane.

i've talked to mears and am going to express before i go to bed, or set the alarm for through the nite......yup, i may be choosing to wake up...how mad?....very mad!

once we get this sorted i think a little reward is in order....maybe some new shoos for me!!

Charlie999 · 02/09/2007 18:07

Glad its getting better....cheese strings....ugh charming

right off to do another word on FB then dinner!

Charlie999 · 02/09/2007 18:09

I'm shit at Scrabulous!

loonylovegood · 02/09/2007 18:42

Yay for daisy! Glad things are getting better!! Those Berry Plush nappies are lovely, I may have to splash out on a cow print one! The thing is is my diddy diapers are so perfect, that anything else may not come up to scratch!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 18:46

one site i was on holly (the nappy lady?) didn't rate diddy diapers. i got some advice from them and the advisor said that they didn't meet their rigourous testing.

I'm a bimble woman myself, LOL.

The berry plush look like they'd be great under a dress in the summer...i can't order any more till all my recent purcheses get delivered and I see what I have. I'm still waiting for my bambinex terries, and the council scheme ones (baby behinds)

loonylovegood · 02/09/2007 18:52

I love diddy diapers! They are great for William because he has a pot belly and a skinny bum and legs. They are tight round his legs and they sit just under his belly! Most nappies I have tried are too loose round the legs and leak everywhere! I have just ordered some Little Lambs, so we'll see how they go.

Are the Bimbles really fat? Can you get E's trousers on over them?

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 02/09/2007 18:56

no, the bimble is lovely....not too fat at all. I've got a couple of applix little lams (second hand and well used) and i find thema bit stiff about the waist. i generally use a micrfibre booster withit and it lasts quite well. They do look cute though.

the bambimex bamboo is lovely, it's a size 2 and is quite slim fitting even with a turn down at the waist. it's a lovely pink colour too!
