Afternoon all!

Finn took the jabs like a champ although he did cry for a bit but quickly got distracted with cuddles and milk!
He’s fast asleep on me now so lots of that today I think.
He woke up unusually last night twice which wasn’t great but on one occasion I tucked him back in and he just fell back asleep himself. More of that please!!

@cupcakesandglitter - my mother has also accused me of spoiling him, saying he’ll sleep when he wants and I shouldn’t put him down for naps, why do I pick him up when he cries etc...as @MrsEG says, she hadn’t raised a baby in 35 years and so I quite firmly just point out that she isn’t up to speed on how to parent based on what we know now.
Interesting that she wouldn’t dare say it in front of DH (i.e never on speakerphone)...
You’re doing what you think is right for your LO (and a cracking job at that) so just ignore her if at all possible!
My MiL and mother message EVERY DAY demanding photos and videos and then using them against me (you don’t let him play enough, you’re always holding him, he looks awake so why are you putting him down for a nap etc) and it’s beyond irritating.

@thumper59 - look at him! What a cutie!

Anyway, I hope we’re all well. I think I’m gonna spend most of today pinned down for cuddles with this gorgeous boy and I couldn’t be happier...calpol on hand, of course!

@ELW85, go Finn, what a brave lad 🙂 God it sounds like we all have relative struggles... Do you ever wonder if we'll be like that when it's our turn?!

So work are really effing me off with one thing and another... I've signed up to do an online payroll course while still on leave, to have on top of my accounts qualification. It's a good skill to have and you never know what is around the corner, especially these days! Also it may help prevent my mind going to mush 😂

Joe is having his 2nd long nap of the day, he must be catching up from yesterday bless him! He's asleep on me so I'm chilling having phone time 🙂

I’d like to think we’ll remember how crap relatives were to us and not behave that way, but maybe our lot thought that too...I’m sure they’re trying to be helpful somehow but it’s just a bit misguided.

Get as many quals in as you can - I’m in awe of you; my brain couldn’t take it at the moment!
I had a chat about a promotion but with a new bank yesterday and I was really strict about my criteria. Pointless jumping into a huge role if it doesn’t suit my new family life.

@Fivebyfive2 new qualification? I can barely remember my name most days! Although saying that, I need to find a new job... it won't be financially viable for me to go back to work where I do now 😕

@MrsEG gah same here! Says we all ate solids at four months..... so? It's like they think they have to do everything they did? Your sister has the right idea 😂 my mum is a bit of a narc sometimes and so I'd feel really guilty and not able to not go after her even though I know she's in the wrong - I'd get pointed out to be the bad guy!

@MrsH497 oh god pay no notice!! That's ridiculous, you need a break too and you know best! Sounds like Charlotte's doing better already, well done for making the right call 😊 told you you've got this!!

@Fivebyfive2 oh god why are they all like this?!! It's not the one comments it's all of them 😂 glad Joe's having a good day today 😁 I don't think (I hope) I'm not like that!! I wouldn't tell my mum or anyone how to parent!

@cupcakesandglitter - they told me I had to call to book for 3 weeks time. Is that about right?

One very cranky baby here - let’s hope he sleeps tonight. He is really tired though and has just been clinging all day. I’m so sad he’s not feeling great but the cuddles have been wonderful.

@ELW85 sounds about right, ours are booked for 4 weeks after. How's Finn been overnight?

@cupcakesandglitter my patience would have worn out a long time ago! 😂 sleep deprived and annoying parents would make me snap! I've been really lucky with both my parents and DH's parents - they're just grateful to have a grandchild! 😂😂

@ELW85 oh, don't... he's already far too grown up for my liking! 🤣 I hope Finn did ok overnight!

In other news, it's my dog's birthday today!! I think DH is going to stop off at Pets at Home on the way home from work (we need more dog food anyway) to get a doggy friendly cupcake! Hehe! Ooh, and Ethan's just in the throes of filling his nappy... off I go!

@MrsR16 @cupcakesandglitter - oh my word ladies, we’ve had projectile vomiting and Finn deciding that 2 hours was the longest he’d sleep.
He’d been waking up more the past couple of nights but nothing like last night. Because I have to hold him up for 30 mins after feeding with his reflux, I’ve basically had 3.5 hours sleep and I’m exhausted. Anyone else been through something like this and does it correct itself?
He’s always slept in the night really well so I’m pretty upset!

@ELW85 oh lovely that's not fun! Is Finn on anything for reflux? Ethan was super sicky and I was told "well, some babies just are!" Now he's on Gaviscon I wish I'd pushed for it earlier 🙄

@MrsR16 - Finn has silent reflux normally so it basically gets so far up with a load of acid and then gets swallowed. It’s damaging because the acid can sit in their throats which isn’t great as they aren’t fully throwing up, so he’s on Omeprazole which neutralises some of the acid. We ended up in A&E with him screaming in pain, which was awful.
He seems brighter on it but TBH I didn’t want to medicate. The doc reckons he’s mild though (god knows what severe would be) so hoping to wean him off in the next 6/8 weeks!

@ELW85 oh my goodness of course! Sorry - proper baby brain moment there! Poor little boy 😕 and poor mummy too! Sending a virtual handhold!

@MrsR16 happy birthday to your dog 😁 have you signed up to the pets at home club? They give free treats when their birthday comes up 😂 my fat cat was VERY happy!!

@ELW85 oh no 😔 me and DH just took it in turns, so if I fed then he would hold her up and vice versa, it was the only way we'd manage any sleep! Although I think Dina has/had reflux rather than silent reflux with the amount that was coming out - it definitely has got better though!! I'm not sure at what point, but we're dealing with a lot less sick. Some days are awful and she doesn't hold much down and fusses a lot, and other days there's nothing at all. We also burp her a lot more, making more of an effort to stop every few minutes even if it doesn't seem like she needs to, not sure if keeping her upright then helps a little? It's difficult but it will get better 😊

Dina was very tired this morning but I sneezed and woke her up 😂 cue a very sleepy baby napping on me now. Managed to get a few videos of her chatting away to me and DH after her nappy change which is the cutest 🥰

Joe has been a very happy chappy today. In fact here he is, gleefully accepting his 'worst sleeper of the year award' 😂 A friend from my NCT group has kindly sent me some sleep stuff as a pdf, like routines, setting the atmosphere etc. I'm going to have a look through this week to see if anything jumps out.

@cupcakesandglitter we're part of the VIP club, but I've never heard anything? Weird huh?

@Fivebyfive2 we've actually had a really good day! Ethan's been happy, Harley's been chilling out doing his lurcher thing and I've been able to stop for 5 mins! Ethan's also been giggling in his sleep this evening which is hilarious 😂 Joe looks simply scrummy!!!

@cupcakesandglitter urgh so annoying of your mum! Sorry you feel judged. You and your partner defo know best 🙂 for what's its worth I try to always have Freddie nap on me. Maybe it's wrong but soon he won't want mummy cuddles, so I am lapping them up while he does ( or doesn't have much choice! 😂)

@MrsEG it's hard work isn't it! I'm 4lb heavier then I was pre pregnancy and finding it so hard to loose! However I also have no will power to resist chocolate so I can't even blame Freddie 😂. I'm glad you can switch off to your mum! You do amazing with them you know best!

@MrsH497 sorry you've had a shitty health visitor 😬. It's disgusting they can still make you feel bad for formula feeding etc. Does it really matter if baby is happy and thriving!! Ive formula fed since birth.

@ELW85. Glad Finn was fine after his jabs! Also amazing that he's falling asleep himself!

Freddie has started being a bit sick after his milk again, I think it's a combination of maybe guzzling too much and he doesn't stay still for very long after a bottle! A lot more washing for me!

@thumper59, solidarity with the washing! Joe had a feed just before dh got home... When he saw his papa he did a massive grin and pllllfff... Milk all down his vest 😂😮

I had a weird experience today. Was doing a little food shop, waiting in the que to go in and this old man came right up and was proper peering in at Joe?! And then, part way around the shop, he catches up with us and basically follows me around?! I got really flustered and left with only half my list, it just seemed a bit bizarre?? Other than that though, it's been a good day, had fun rolling around on the grass with Joe, like a mad woman!

@Fivebyfive2 @thumper59 I feel your pain on the puke front 😩 Tonight Daisy had quesadillas for dinner and did a fabulous orange Mexican vomit all over my white bedsheets. Thanks chick 😒 Between all the sick and using cloth nappies I do a whole load of just baby washing every other day. On top of all of my clothes/bedsheets/throws. Gets me down a bit and feel like all I do all day is clean up 🥴

@thumper59 we're doing ok! 😊 I gave Ethan one of those Ella's Kitchen melty puff things today and he absolutely loved it! Wasn't too sure ok the flavour but he loved the independence of biting it and getting a bit off (disclaimer - they melt like Wotsits, so he didn't choke!) which was great fun to watch!

@Fivebyfive2 hey lovely! I totally feel you on the puke front... Ethan's been fairly sicky today but not on sight of DH though! 😂 that bloke does sound strange! I'd have panicked and told him to bugger off...

Morning all!
I feel like I’m being really mercurial (or Finn is!) last week I was worried about him not napping but since his jabs he’s barely been awake. Yesterday he basically wanted to sleep all day and was fussy when he wasn’t.
I thought he’d be more alert now with more awake time, so now I’m worried for different reasons!!
He’s 9 weeks today and I feel like we’ve lost his alert periods. It’s so weird.
I hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend!

Morning guys! Just catching up - this thread moves fast now so many babies are here!!

Hope everyone’s enjoying the sunshine. The heat is unreal! It’s making the boys so drowsy all the time. I’m trying to get them out in the paddling pool and stuff to keep them awake haha! Luckily (touch wood) it hasn’t affected their night sleep much yet, but they’ve been going to bed in just nappies. Sometimes I’m sure just having each other in the same room at night helps them settle though :)

16 week jabs went totally fine, really unsettled night with Ruairí and fever with Conor but just one bad day and they were fine! So glad that’s the last of it for a while now!

@MrsR16 Hope you’ve not had any more horrid nights with Ethan! Ahh we always celebrate the dogs birthday too. I feel awful with our dog at the moment - with having two it’s really hard to watch them both around him so he doesn’t get a huge amount of time with the boys. He’s a big gentle giant but he doesn’t know his own strength so I worry sometimes! Can’t wait for the boys to just get a bit stronger and hold their own against him haha!

@ELW85 Ah glad the jabs went well! Could the sleepiness be the weather? The boys are much sleepier than usual at the moment. I take them in to the garden and they’re falling asleep in my arms!

@Fivebyfive2 Sorry work are being a pain! I can totally empathise with the supermarket situation - it comes with the territory with twins!! Every bugger wants a look. I’ve even had people just walk over to the pram like ‘twiiiinnnns!’ And I have to be like back off!! There’s a Pandemic, woman!

@cupcakesandglitter Hope things are going okay with your mum! Ahh videos are the best, the boys really laugh now and I’m constantly trying to catch it on film! I take so many pics but the videos are the ones I always go back to!

@thumper59 Ah I hope Freddie isn’t being too sick! We’re constantly changing clothes at the mo, mix of spit up and all the bloody teething dribble!!
