Pinions is near the coast Eca, on the Suffolk border. We're off to meet her on Thursday, you are welcome to join us but we're going to the beach so might be too far for you?

Hey everyone,

Had a good and bad weekend - Good was fab night out with dh for anniversary and lunch with a friend from London yesterday. Bad was mil having little digs at me the whole time she stayed with us. I should be grateful (and I am )for her offering to babysit L but would it be too much to ask for her to do it without the digs? But I can put up with it for a night on the tiles!

Last week must have been bumbo week - we bought one for Lucy as well - I have added a pic on my profile of her sitting in it, v. cute.

We start waterbabies in a couple of weeks as well so the links to 'shaping' cossies much appreciated - I am hoping my class isn't full of 'I was back in my jeans 2 mins after the birth' mums!

Mammyjo - hope you're getting on better with the bfing and getting the support you need

Elkie - read your other thread, will try and post on there later

Ellie - I know you don't do hugs, but I am sending you another sneaky one. So at your mum

Maveta - hope the cleaning went well and you have a fab time with your pal. Hope N has a better night tonight

Can't remember anything else - sorry my brain is a sieve. Hope everyone is well.

xx

Evening lassies!

Firstly, Ange, I am delighted to hear that Izzy has put on a good amount of weight this week - fantastic. You must be relieved. I think the HV was a bit out of order getting you to be concerned. As you say, you are tiny, so Izzy isn't going to be a heffer.
I am going to mention reflux again tomorrow. There is definitely something not right with Katie's digestion imo. I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I just have a feeling.

Hi Pinions, sounds like you are having a great time. Enjoy your meet up.

Hope everyeone else is ok.

All ok here. B was a bit of a pain at bedtime, and K wasn't fab either - crying after her milk, and then getting hiccups, which she seems to get a lot. Put her down anyway, and it sounds as if she has gone to sleep bless her heart.

xx

weeonion · 20/08/2007 20:37

evening folks!

pesha - a tooth!!! wow! i think that is ithe first on this thread!
ange - delighted that izzy is doing grand re weight - but you knew that anyhow!
sol - is it the hv you are seeing 2morro re reflux??
bumble - l looks so cute! i cant remember - but are you coming to the scottish meet up on the 29th?????
mammyj - how are you doing??

leakyR · 20/08/2007 20:39

Mind like jelly. George had massively clingy day today and has fed like a demon ( a cute milky one).Went to baby group and usually he'll happily roll about on floor with other babies, looking round and trying to pick up toys. Today he wanted to be on my knee or near to me on the floor. Despite him having a better night last night I'm still shattered!

AngeG - glad you're feeling better about Izzy's weight gain. at HV for making you worry last week.

SOL - sympathy for bedtime stress.

Bumble - glad you had a nice anniversary. Remember the old "fingers in ears, la la la" trick for dealing with MIL

Pinions - glad you're having a good hol. Hope DS1 gets some beach weather.

Right off for a bath. See you later.

leakyR · 20/08/2007 20:49

Hi Wee Onion - X post but you reminded me I wanted to say.

Bumble - Lucy looks lovely in her Bumbo! Very of all that hair. So cute!

Pesha - congrats on the first April baby tooth, you'll have to let us know how Bf goes with added danger!

Runny- sorry you're feeling but like the others said keep coming on here and ranting when you need to. We all do it!

Apologies if I've forgotten anyone else.

elkiedee · 20/08/2007 20:50

Ange, glad to hear that Izzy has put on more weight this week, if only because it could ease the stress you're feeling under from HV etc.

SOL, hope K's ok.

Welcome back Bumble.

Where is mammyjo? Hope you're ok if you're reading this MJ.

tcmummy · 20/08/2007 20:58

just popping in quick...

ellie... Where are you meeting? Would love to come, but it might be a bit far. Is it on the east coast need to negociate the car with dh. will ask him. It might be a bit far

sol - go with your instinct. My hv is crap, lovely but crap, heard last week that someone's lo was ill, she saw her, said it was just wind. Mum thought that can't be right, ended up taking her to A&E. Admitted into intensive care & had major surgery on her bowel All ok now though. Not wanting to scare you, it's probably not as near as serious with K, but it's another 'go with instinct/ignore crappy hv's story'

Sexonlegs · 20/08/2007 21:08

Hiya.

Bumble, glad you had a good time for your anniversary. As Leaky said, fingers in ears for MIL!! They are a different breed aren't they??

Leaky, hope G is ok. I hate it when they are clingy.

Hi to everyone else, and thanks for asking about K. Funnily enough after K was weighed the other week, the HV did pull up on the fact that I had mentioned reflux a couple of months ago. So, I don't know if she is now wondering the same thing.

Anyway, I am pretty sure whatever it is, it is fairly mild, but will raise it.

On a health kick from now on. Have realised that I have not been eating enough fruit and veg, so am now making a conscious effort. Not for weight purposes, but just wonder if the reason I have been runown/tired is cos I am eating CRAP!

We shall see how long it lasts. I have a Flake in my handbag.......

EllieK · 20/08/2007 21:18

Eca, we're off to Lowestoft

Katy44 · 20/08/2007 21:45

Hi everyone
Sorry for quick post, hope everyone is well, have only been able to skim
Won't be around tomorrow as going to work to be on interview panel. Mum looking after T, first time I've left him for more than a couple of hours
See you all on Wednesday or maybe tomorrow night x

Sexonlegs · 20/08/2007 21:50

Hi Mammyjo, sorry things are still not 100% re boob.

Katy good luck on the interview panel, and I am sure T will be fine. See you soon . x

tcmummy · 20/08/2007 21:58

ellie - what time? Tomtom is saying it'll take about 1hr45. dh needs car at 1- 3pm. Mmm... that probably is no good is it??

tcmummy · 20/08/2007 22:03

bless ya Katy. I have yet to have that experince! Mainly coz I've not got anyone to leave t with!

mammyjo- glad to hear you're ok.

I'm having a crap day folks. Have had major family stress. Sis had a complete meltdown. Was sobbing on the phone for 2 hour to me. Then she fell out with dad. Then I found out dad is seeing a new woman (mum died 18 months ago) and didn't tell us. And I find out my bro - whose temper is worrying - is actually getting worse And my other sis doesn't know any of this coz she's got mental health probs (always has had) . And then T wouldn't go to bed tonight. I feel like the blood has been drained out of me...

blah... blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...

blah. ..blah...blah...

sorry to splurge

EllieK · 20/08/2007 22:18

breathe breathe...

the diet has died. I've eaten half a choc roulade, choc chip cookie, and half a bar of plain chocolate. I feel sick.

oh, happy days.

EllieK · 20/08/2007 22:25

OP posts:
tcmummy · 20/08/2007 22:30

EllieK · 20/08/2007 22:32

I neeeed candyfloss

OP posts:
elkiedee · 20/08/2007 22:59

eca and ellie, hope you manage to meet and give each other some support. You'll have to search out some candyfloss. You've set me off now wondering how many years it is since I actually had candyfloss.

I've not really tried to diet but I was trying to eat more healthily, especially after Danny was born as I wasn't worrying about being sick all the time. That's gone to pieces recently.

maveta · 21/08/2007 06:45

Early start for me here.. had a couple of hours of the most fantastic torrential rain with full on thunder and lightening. Was lying in bed thinking, is there anything outside that should be brought in? clothes on line (nevermind) terrace chairs etc (nevermind) shutters are all shut, what is it, what is it...CATS! Oops! Told dh Sonny (his favourite) was outside and you should have seen him fly out of bed to go let him in LOL

Only up twice in the night, though didn´t sleep too well as I left N in our bed after his first feed so I could easily flip him over when he does his beetle impression.. not used to him sleeping with us anymore and slept really lightly and very aware of his presence.

Friend arrives today, poor thing arriving at the same time as the first rain we´ve had all summer.. typical! and it never helps when everyone is so happy to see the rain on your ONE short weekend abroad.

tcmummy - about family dramas, it´s horrible when it all kicks off. Sod the diet, it´s not going anywhere, when a girl needs a sugar fix, she needs a sugar fix!

Pesha at tooth.. did get me thinking that I´m not sure if I´d hold out with bf-ing long if he bit me! brave woman.

Sending you tons of hugs, runny.. everything is so hard when you´re working on little sleep, it magnifies every little thing and makes it so much harder to cope, I really hope you manage to get some sleep soon xx

EllieK · 21/08/2007 07:54

morning all

wish me luck, the PA to the Chief Exec is off today so I'm covering

just means making the tea for a meeting but, the meeting is at 9.30 so I have to actually get to work on time, something I have achieved only once in the 3 weeks I've been there . I also have to make loose leaf tea and caffettiere coffee, when I would ordinarily not make tea-bag tea or instant coffee, I'm so bad at it I was banned at my last job .

Still, my boss said just put on a suit and pretend you know what you're doing. So I have my proper suit on, and am trying not to be so nervous of making the tea, cos that's just blardy ridiculous
