Thought I'd start a thread to give somewhere for Jem, Washersaurus and Bresha to discuss their little ones and make all those of us waiting impatiently jealous!

Who will be next??????

james i am getting a bit of your nights!! I can't wait for the no waking bit - although that said DD slept til 1 from 7.30, then woke at 5 for a snuggle. She's been asleep a lot today so I'm sure Ill pay for it later. Hoping DH might get home while she's still asleep

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 16/11/2007 14:16

Yeah, he's doing well with the sleeping at the moment, but I know it's only luck. My sister has warned me that I'm due a crotchety insomniac next time, so not to get too used to it.

shrinkingsagpuss · 16/11/2007 14:36

DS slept through from 19 weeks, and hs mostly been a dream since then . although he does wake a bit early at the moment (6 flaimng a.m)... i'll bide my time and hope DD is as good.

GillL · 16/11/2007 14:55

James - I had one of those (crotchety insomniac) first time round and she still is. Last night she didn't go to sleep til 10:30 even though she hadn't had a nap. I'm so glad ds is a good sleeper - touch wood he continues. He's also a dream to take shopping. Dd used to complain until I got her out of the buggy and carried her. Ds just sits back and watches the world go by (as long as he's had a good sleep and feed, of course).

Ds has got into the habit of waking at 4am every morning. Then I spend the next half an hour getting in and out of bed to put the dummy back in his mouth. I've got to stop that though or he will start to expect it. I need to get him to get himself back to sleep. He does it when he first goes to bed so I don't see why he can't do it any other time.

GillL · 17/11/2007 12:48

I got a letter this morning telling me I didn't get the job but apparently they have put me on the reserve list in case the person who go it turns it down, or if another position comes up. Anyway, it's given me the confidence I need to start looking for a job next year when I have some more annual leave.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. We're just visiting family. We see my mum and dad all the time but we have to make an effort to visit the in laws. It took a lot of work to get dd to like and trust fil and his partner (they're very nice people but she's shy and wary of people she doesn't know) so we can't leave it too long between visits.

How is lo getting on Tasha? Hope he's getting used to the tape.

shrinkingsagpuss · 17/11/2007 14:03

Sorry to hear that Gilll - ot does take a bit of practice to get back into the knack of interviews. Good luck with the next one. You don't want to work for the MOD anyway... too much red tape and money wasting.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/11/2007 19:51

Better luck next time Gill. Keep your eyes peeled, these things usually happen for a reason, because there's something better round the corner!

Busy day today (typed "busty" about three times then instead of busy) went into town shopping for art materials, 3-6 month baby clothes, and then food shopping to asda which was insanely packed. If this is what it's going to be like in the run up to christmas I'll stick to online shopping.

Got home and did some bulk cooking for the freezer. Very therapeutic chopping all that veg! The boy has fallen asleep before his bath and bedtime milk (oops)but I'll make the most of it- fingers crossed I'll have a free evening ahead of me to get some work done on my art project!

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend!

Hersetta · 18/11/2007 09:01

James, I feel for you. I had a similar problem after I had my section scar re-stitched. After the surgery they covered my scar with dressings and basically sellotaped them to me with medical tape. Unfortunately it has latex in it and I ended up with huge blisters on my lower tummy - nice!

Caitlin and I have just got back from six days at my Mum's in Spain and she was fabulous on the plane. Never cried at all. just had a botle and slept most of the way on both legs. The people sitting in front and behind us said when we got off that they hadn't realised there was a baby there at all.

Think all the sea air made her exhausted and she slept more than usual. One night she even went from 10.30 to 9am next morning.

It's lovely to see her developing. She's just started reaching out and grabbing things now and is starting putting her toys (and her fists) in her mouth. She's also learned how to blow spit bubbles and so I have to keep a bib on her most of the time as otherwise her tops get soaked. Is that a sign of teething?

Is TT around - are we still meeting up on Tuesday?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/11/2007 11:24

Hey, glad to hear you had a lovely time in Spain Hersetta! I know what you mean about seeing them develop in front of your eyes, it's great isn't it? James has just started to look at his own hands when they go near his face, and grab things (he was killing his toy giraffe the other day, in a sudden death hug/neck munch move)

Hersetta · 18/11/2007 14:41

Sounds familiar James as Cait has a small bright orange monkey with a squeeker in and she can't decide whether she wants to eat him or hug him the most, so usually she does both at the same time. She also talks to him a lot and he gets a good telling off after she's flung him off her bouncer. So cute.

shrinkingsagpuss · 18/11/2007 14:48

Meet up on tuesday? o ho oh oh oh!! Bluewater?? DH is off ontues and we were going to go shopping ni Ashford.. Imight make him go to Bluewater instead....

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/11/2007 15:33

He's driving me bonkers turning his head around when I try to feed him, and smacking the bottle around! Suddenly gone really wiggly and realised there's lots to look at whilst doing boring stuff like eating (and being changed/bathed/dressed etc)

Hersetta · 18/11/2007 17:26

Cait's the same when she's feeding too james. Whilst in Spain she was so nosy at all the new scenery that giving her a bottle when we were out was almost impossible she just continually turned her head from left to right and back again to look at everything so it was impossible to keep the bottle in. Little minx.

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 18/11/2007 19:52

Hi ladies !!! Very quick hijack I have for sale a boys 3-6 mths christmas/christmas day outfit for sale, on the for sale board, funnily enough! £12 inc postage, if anyone is interested please just leave details. Will be posted immediately first class.

GillL · 18/11/2007 20:25

I'd forgotten about the meet up too. I remember agreeing a date but nothing else - my memory is terrible. Are we definitely meeting at Bluewater? What time and where? I've got to take dd to pre-school in the morning but I should be able to make it by 11am.

tasha21 · 18/11/2007 21:57

hiya had to send my laptop off to get fixed so ive fallen a bit behind.
gill-sorry to hear you didn't get the job, echo james.
hes getting used to the tape now i take it off him at night though cause its giving him a slight rash. he has the speach therapist coming on tuesday lol
but nothing new with lo cant wait till he gets a bit bigger

Uki · 19/11/2007 11:29

Hi All

Gill - sorry to hear about the job, all that build up, and then down. I know how you feel though, I got rejected for 2 tenders this week, so feeling a little flat after all that work.

Your dd sounds like my ds was up till 11pm last night, nightmare, we have put him back on naps, because dropping them meant he went to bed later not earlier.

Luckly LL is a good sleeper, goes to bed at 8 and does quietish grizzles at about 3/4am but sometimes goes till 5am, ds never slept that good till he was 9 months

he loves sucking his hands too so forgets about food if he finds them.

A bit of your meet up, maybe i should come just a quick 24 hour plane trip

LL will take his first flight soon, not too worried about that though it's only an hour we are going to Melbourne for work christmas party/shopping and fun.

What's your art project J, you know i'm art mad, it's what i do for a living eh scraping!

conkertree · 19/11/2007 11:50

morning folks - finally back to our own house. its great - and ds slept for 5 hours in a row last night so he obviously is pleased to be home too.

having to put hi hands in socks most of the day as he is scratching all the skin off the side of his head if we dont. but its a shame just as he's discovering what he can do with them. giving him some hands time as much as possible and creams to stop the itching. have a really funny video of him being fed and grabbing the spoon off me and stuffing it in his mouth becuase i wasnt feeding him fast enough.

ds is being baptised on sunday so having lots of the family dopwn for it. turning inot a much biger party than we originally thought. we thought my grandpaernts etc wpouldnt come but they all are which will be great but more work too. and dh's brother is back from newyork to mee ds for the first time.

sorry about bad typing. ds just started crying. speak later.

tasha21 · 19/11/2007 13:01

yea uki im of their meet up too. complete nightmare thismorning i ran out of electric and didn't want to bring the kids out in the rain, had to get my dad who is getting ready for his mums funeral to run to shop for my, terrible.
lo is now in the resable nappies, like i havent got enough to do.

tasha21 · 19/11/2007 13:02

thats really good conkertree 5 hours

conkertree · 19/11/2007 13:36

sounds like you have a lot on your plate today tasha.

that was 5 hours for one night but he hasnt done that for about 3 weeks, and even then its only been once or twice he's done it, so dont be too .

finally bought him a proper cot, so should arrive this week and hopefully he will stop waking himslef up by hitting his hands off the side.

how are everyones los getting on with rolling? ds is showing some interest - he wiggles his hips from side to side and rolls on ot his side. hasnt quite made it over yet, but dont think it will be long. its so funny though when he tries to go one way, but the momentum from him swinging his hips takes him over the other way. he looks very confused.

tasha21 · 19/11/2007 14:00

well ds2+3 are asleep and ds1 is tangling everything with string
nope my little 3 month newborn has no interest

tasha21 · 19/11/2007 14:24

i need a bit of motivation to tidy

pinkrangernowwobbles · 19/11/2007 16:11

Totally forgot about the meet up, maybe another time, i cant do tomorrow. Went shopping today and got a few Christmas bits but still have loads to do! Well i dont want to speak to soon

conkertree · 19/11/2007 16:39

wow pinkranger - that sounds great. am

we got a few xmas presents when we were away but need to get going properly soon so its not last minute.

after having two weeks at a course and seeing ds at lunchtime but apart from that not between 9.30 and 4, have really enjoyed being back to normal this week.
