LadyTophamHatt · 03/07/2007 22:03

trixymalixy · 03/07/2007 23:24

Am i the only one not weaning yet?!?!?

Ds is 23 weeks this week and I was planning to wait until the 26 weeks. Guess i will see if the good sleeping continues.

I love brussel sprouts as well. Xmas dinner just wouldn't be right without them!

theUrbanDryad · 04/07/2007 09:04

this is the buggy we have at the moment. it's good, but it's a rip off and i didn't like the colour to start with. it's since grown on me.

eandh · 04/07/2007 09:18

I was thinking about becoming a childminder and looked into it last night and it seems a lot of 'paperwork' was only going to do it to help brother and gf out as she needs to go back to work and not sure about her ds going to nursery full time especially as he goes to his dads every other weekend.

She is going to look at nurserys this morning and has interview for job this afternoon, I have suggested asking at the interview if she could do full time hours over a 4 day week (I know this is possible as friend works at same place) have mondays off, ds comes to me on a tuesday (they'd pay me minimal amount) and he'd go to nursery wed, thurs and fri it'll be fantastic if it works as she'll be so much happier so fingers crossed.

DH Keeping everything crossed for your dh (was it you asking about my hours if so I work monday and friday and very occasionally odd sat morning)

Mrsgp glad u like your buggy (slippery slope you'll get addicted to new pushchairs )

lth - all going well with no aspartine diet although we had a 10min tantrum because i put a denim dress on her and she wanted a pink tshirt on this morning

Shimmer - I am addited to doing shopping on a budget I do a huge food shop once a month and then get fresh things weekly but I buy quite alot of frozen veg and stock up chicken/mince when its one bogof, never buy whole chicken as we waste it, I can make 5 chicken breasts do 2 days meals for all of us (roast one night uses 2.5 breasts 1 for me and dh and half for ellie and take a smll piece of each to mix for hattie then chop up/shred other 2.5 breasts dh will use some for sandwiches then mx rest with curry/pasta ssauce and bulk it up with rice/pasta/veg

eandh · 04/07/2007 09:22

I spend £150 max per month on food

eandh · 04/07/2007 09:26

ud what happened to your pliko?

2Happy · 04/07/2007 09:39

Good luck DH's dh

No, Trixy, you're not the only one! Still over 5 weeks to the 26w mark to go here. I think. Actually I lose track of how old he is.

Got august's rota through from work this morning , I bet the sun starts to shine from the 6th onwards. I wonder if the rin'll hold off long enough today to take dses to the farm?

theUrbanDryad · 04/07/2007 09:39

the Pliko's gone to live with the IL's in Surrey! we got given the I'Coo one through dh's work and it's a bit posher so we kept it here.

i've just found out how to make the I'Coo face me! it's only taken 3 months!!

MrsGolfPro · 04/07/2007 09:50

Morning all

I have become really anal when it comes to shopping and work out price per litre etc on stuff like washing liquid to make sure I am getting the cheapest etc. Bless me. We spend about £200 per month on food shopping/baby essentials.

Very happy this morning as found one of my old college mates on Facebook that I had lost contact with and emailed her only to find out she is living right here in Lincoln!!!!!! How bizarre is that!

J is definately teething. He has two hard lumps in his gums at the front bottom. Is a sign of teething more pooey nappies?? He is doing about 4 per day and although not diahorrea (sp) they are not as firm as normal. Didn't know if it was a teething thing??

He is very smiley and happy today though so I am happy cos he has been very whingey all week and weekend.

Having a guy come tonight to quote for fitting our lounge carpet. Am very excited cos it is cream ATM and filthy. It is the main through room in our house and J rolls around on it puking so I am embarrassed cos it looks so dirty, no matter how many times I Vax and hoover it.

DH - was your DH nervous this morning?? Sending good luck vibes his way...

Where is RGee????

JodieG1 · 04/07/2007 12:23

Caitlin had her sports day today and we all managed to go as Morgan was fine today thankfully. She was really good and her house ended up tying first place! So proud of her

Going to upload some pics of Ethan later, managed to get a couple of him up on his hands and knees.

I spend about 70-100 a week on food usually. I do buy organic fruit and veg and meat from the butchers. Also nappies and wipes and ds1 has only recently come out of nappies. I do all my cooking from scratch and bake some too so there are no processed meals or anything in there either. Sometimes I can spend 50 odd but it depends where I shop and whether I need household things as well as just the food.

laughalot · 04/07/2007 12:23

How does everyone have time to chat for some reason latley I cant seem to get anything done.

RGee · 04/07/2007 13:27

Hello!
I am here honestly Mrs GP. Dh on a fortnight hols so we've been in and out a lot. We've been away (no PC) for a week, then I was working in London for two days (not officially back at work until next month), then to Derby yesterday. Then staying at in-laws from Fri - Sun. Normal service should resume on Monday. Just about to head off down to get lo weighed for the last time. Reckon I'm gonna stop my baby clinic visits after today.

Hope to try and catch up on here this evening.
Dragon - hope interview goes well.
MrsGP / LTH - I love the pushchair! But I love it more cos it was so cheap

EAH - sofas here yet? How is being back at work btw?

Those of you with older children, do you have any recommendations for car seats? We don't need one yet but was planning to start to have a look whilst the sales were on.

Pippa is being a little love at the minute. We almost celebrated her half year birthday last week! She's sleeping much better in the day again, and can sit up for 30 seconds or so on her own.

JodieG1 · 04/07/2007 14:03

Forgot to say that Ethan has been a nightmare the last few days, hoping it's just a growth spurt but he's been waking every hour from when he goes down for food and last night during the night I must have fed him about 20 times Bloody knackered today.

trixymalixy · 04/07/2007 14:21

AAARGHHH!!!!!!!!!

I am in SUCH a bad mood!!!!!!!!!

Sorry need to vent, please ignore.

AIBU - to expect DH not to put his dirty clothes on top of the clean folded washing.

AIBU - to expect DH to not leave his dirty boxers on the bathroom floor every morning.

AIBU - to expect DH not to empty his pockets and leave little random piles of stuff around the house.

AIBU - to expect people not to dump random baby junk on us that we don't want and can't use (i.e. bits of baby mobile and bits for pram that we don't have).

AIBU - to expect the cats to pee in the litter tray rather than on the pile of washing on the laundry room floor.

AIBU - to be pissed of at DH buying 100foot of curtain wire when we only needed a metre, just because it's from Screwfix and is good value for money which will clutter up our already bursting at the seams with all the multipacks of stuff from screwfix that will never be used!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2Happy · 04/07/2007 14:23

....and breathe

2Happy · 04/07/2007 14:25

And yes, yabu to expect any man to be remotely house trained IME. The dirty clothes in clean clothes basket is one of my dh's favourites too. That and never ever putting the clean ironed clothes away. Grr.

trixymalixy · 04/07/2007 14:29

AIBU - to expect Curry's not to sell the tv we bought last night £240 cheaper online!!!!!

AIBU - to expect huggies to actually contain poo rather than allow it to pour out the legholes and shoot up the back!!!

Need wine or chocolate or both....
