The thing with the clothes is, we were given almost everything except our favourite stuff which comes from Mothercare. Mike bought it while I was back in hospital with Danny - I would have bought 0-3 months but Mike got "tiny baby" and "newborn" stuff. Mothercare's new baby size is "up to 10 lb" and the 0-3 is "up to 14 lb" and Danny weighed in at 11 lb 10 days ago. It's probably not worth buying any more 0-3 just for the few weeks that it will fit, I think I will get some of the nicest designs in 3-6 months. Mainly the zebra stripes. I have just bought a bit of stuff on ebay, but even there I have to check it sounds like it might be worth it.

At least the baby clothes that were put out to dry inside did just about dry. It's just me who has nothing to wear.

He's also presumably pretty close to the border between two stages of nappies - 14 lb on his usual brand, 13 lb on Pampers (back up for sale at the shop open all hours anyone could need - apparently they shut for a little while at 3 am but I've never been there outside trading hours).

elkiedee · 25/06/2007 21:13

I think Leeds is probably better by train than Derby from most places - London or via London, Edinburgh, Newcastle - Doncaster or York might be even better in terms of trains going there - York's a lovely place for a day out but I've no idea of baby/toddler friendliness - but there are at least 3 of us who live in Leeds and 1 who can combine it with visiting family (yes, that is my bias!) - does anyone on here live in the East Midlands? Derby and other places in the East Midlands don't have as many train services/routes through there as Yorkshire.

If more people were driving, isn't Leicester a little better positioned by road?

nuttygirl · 25/06/2007 21:16

Evening all,

Would love a big meet up. Leeds would be pretty easy for most people to get too...but then I don't get a weekend away . York's lovely but the cobbled streets can make pram pushing quite difficult. I'm happy with anywhere really (DH would drive) but will depend on the date.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 21:17

I would be happy with Leeds - one of my cousins lives up in that neck of the woods.

Elkie, I had to buy K a couple more pairs of 0-3 trousers today as they were either lying in a washing pile or hanging out to dry!

Watching Henman play and it is bloody edge of the seat stuff!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 21:21

Nutty, how is Erin doing?

Some tips that others on here gave me when I thought K had reflux were to keep her upright during feeding, and for 20 minutes after. Also to sleep her at a slight angle. I put a cushion under the top end of her moses basket. In fact I still do.

You may be doing thse things already, so apologies if you are.

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:26

Jobs done, back again ........

nuttygirl · 25/06/2007 21:28

Hi SOKL, Erin is taking her bottle a little bit better. She won't eat sitting more upright , seems to have trouble sucking the teat like this. It's a bit upsetting cos I feel a bit like I'm force feeding her but she does want the food, just have to stop her from turning her head to push the bottle out IYSWIM. Will try the tip for the moses basket tho and see if that helps. Thanks for that!

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:31

If all else fails, do try cup feeding - worked for DD2 & I - It is prob just a "phase", just keep on & be positive. It'll pass. {{{hugs}}}

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 21:31

Bless her heart.

Right, think I may head to bed as am knackered.

Sleep tight all, and let's hope the weather perks up a bit.

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:32

I need a wee.

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:32

Night SOKL!

backhomenow · 25/06/2007 21:35

Elkie
you seem to have lots of ideas for the meet-up so maybe you would like to take over organising it?

Emmymummy · 25/06/2007 21:36

Hellooooo CD, night SOKL. Heading to bed myself too as knack'd. Did 40 lengths of the pool this afternoon though, so not as crapply unfit as I thought I would be (haven't swum properly since August last year). So hurrah, just need to keep it going now.

Night all xxx

nuttygirl · 25/06/2007 21:40

Night SOKL.

Night EM - wow to 40 lengths!

CD - not sure I get this cup feeding - do I need a special type of cup?

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:42

40 lengths!!!? - impressed!! Well done you!! Wish I had the time to swim etc .... Night EM!

backhomenow · 25/06/2007 21:42

nutty use any cup but I fond Doidy cups very good as they have a slanted side to them which makes it easier (and Dippy sells them )

Em at 40 lengths! I was out of breath after 5

liath · 25/06/2007 21:43

Aaarrgghh, WTF is wrong with Yahoo - have just got Ellie's email with all the nicknames but haven't received any of the emails with directions to tomorrow's meet-up.

I was going to bring cake and even my lovely new housecoat to give you all a laugh.

If anyone is around could they try sending them again, sorry to be a total pest.

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:43

I cup fed with a doidy cup - just put the formula / EBM into it and encourage bubs to "lap" it from the cup - they look like little kittens doing it, v.cute!!

Emmymummy · 25/06/2007 21:44
  • I used to do 72 every time I went (equates to a mile), so 40 is a breeze! OK, night all.
CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:45

Doidy Cup

...and hey, they do a pink sparkly one .... always good!

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:46

I miss swimming.

....Yes, we do seel Doidy Cups in my shop, if you'd like me to send you one?? Not the pink sparkly ones unfortunately.

Eddas · 25/06/2007 21:47

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:48

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:50

Ha! Ha! You Chav, Eddas!

CaptainDippy · 25/06/2007 21:51

DH would like me to tell you all that he has bought me chocolate and a hot chocolate with marshmallows in ..... isn't he lovely!!? (Even if he did tease me telling me he had out my EBM in it - !!)
