Can I just whisper that I think my plan to persuade O to sleep for long enough to allow me to work in the mornings come August has worked today?!? I put her down for her nap at about 9.45, and although she woke and cried a bit as usual at about 10.45, I didn't go in, and I think she's gone back to sleep . . . Please God let this be the start of things to come as I desperately need her to learn to sleep all morning as well as all night - not too much to ask, surely!! I am back to work on 30 July so we have 5 weeks to make this stick!

Katy44 · 25/06/2007 11:29

fingers crossed for you!

Back from the dentist - just a check up and no problems. V handsome dentist though so have no problem returning for a scale and polish next week!!

Been meaning to say how lovely all the photo's are of everyone's bundles of joy.

Pesha, sorry to hear about the poo explosion! What a nightmare. How far from home where you??

I think I may look in to marquee prices just to get an idea as to whether it is a possibility.

elkiedee · 25/06/2007 11:50

Aaaarrrrgh, thought there was a prospect of some clothes drying outside as there was an interlude of drying weather. Just noticed it's chucking it down and they'll all be wetter than when they came out of the washing machine. Danny's wardrobe suddenly seems a lot smaller - I got out his 3-6 m vests yesterday because the smaller ones he hasn't grown out of are all being washed or failing to dry.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 11:54

Hi Elkie, the weather is pants! I dry stuff inside and usually it is dry overnight, but the stuff I put out yesterday afternoon is still damp! Have put the heating back on today.

What a great start to Wimbledon!!

maveta · 25/06/2007 12:14

no period here yet either, thank goodness, am really enjoying the absence of THAT particular blessing...

it does seem like N´s feeds have gotten shorter although he now feeds every 3 instead of every 4 hours, but that´s fine, my nipples appreciate the shorter feeds for sure! we ended up moving his cotbed into our room last night.. after me saying for a while now that he was getting too big for the moses basket, dh only sprung into action after his big sister also commented on it. So typical. Anyway, it went well..he must be so much comfier in there when you compare the mattress to the thin foam in the moses basket. Slept from 10pm til 3.30am but then fell asleep in our bed with us and (here´s the important bit) SLEPT QUIETLY til 7.15am! WOOOHOO! lol.

He must have sensed he´s been up for eviction if he keeps up the noisy nights...good boy.

Well done WO on the public bf-ing..YOU GO GIRL!

Going to the cranal osteopath this pm, will be interesting to see what effect, if any, i notice...

maveta · 25/06/2007 12:22

elkiedee - 3-6 months! if i could do a shocked smiley with 1 hand i would!! they must swamp him.. i´ve finally packed away all hisnewborn clothes (sad emoticon).. can´t believe how much we had - my mum defintely went a bit crazy but i guess they´ll do future cousins too so won´t go to waste.

His 0-3 wardrobe was looking, as a result, a wee bit pathetic but then yesterday my SIL gave me a big bag of clothes from her wee boy, all really lovely summer stuff, so he´s all stocked up again. Is quite handy having 2 older boy cousins as I imagine he´ll be kept going pretty well in their hand me downs.. No shame in cast offs in this household! lol

I remember there was some chat about lying them on their front to sleep a while ago? This is Noah´s all time fave position and guarantees he will go out like a light. If he´s sleeping like this during a nap I just keep popping in to check on him at night he falls asleep like this and once he´s properly sleeping I just whip him onto his side. It works for us anyway.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 12:31

Summer clothes!!!! I am desperate to get K in to all the beautiful summer dresses she was given as presents, but the weather is dismal. Sent B off today with bloody tights on as it is so cold!

Majorca must be lovely.

maveta · 25/06/2007 12:52

Sympathies.. I have had enough UK (and more specifically, Scottish) summers to know what that´s like. It is pretty nice out here now.. actually it´s HOT HOT HOT. And while that´s mostly a good thing it does have its drawbacks too.. like being TOO DAMN HOT. But that shouldn´t kick in for another couple of weeks. We´ve already got the fan on day and night and all 3 of us woke up at the same time at 3 a.m. in a sweat as we´d forgot to put the fan on when we went to bed.

Slowly working on the tan though (very slowly, my skin seems impervious to the sun.. ) and YES MUM I am wearing the factor 20. Most of the time. N suffered heat rash a couple of weeks ago but seems to have adjusted to it okay, or maybe we´re learning to dress him more appropriately? Also giving him a shower with one of us about twice a day to cool him off. He loves it! (who was it who took a shower with their wee one the other day? - thanks for the tip, we have totally abandoned baths for showers, he loves them!)

YvieE · 25/06/2007 13:16

Hi Ladies

I'm about to go catch up as i haven't been on for a while - no real reason. Hope the SE meet up went well on Friday.
Turned 30 on saturday and got some lovely presents.....and an engagement ring from DP!!!!

Pinions · 25/06/2007 13:22

HI LADIES!!!

Well been swimming this morning even though pissing down with rain (still). Hands up if you think we are actually going to get a summer?

Visited all the gyms this morning and found out that Virgin offers a kiddies gym plus kiddies classes for an extra £12 per month, how good is that!

bit excited/nervous about joing a gym because haven't been regularly since DS1 was born - but NEED to do something if only to get out of the house.

If this rain doesn't stop soon I'm coming to live with you Maveta!

Pinions · 25/06/2007 13:29

Runs back in:

Wish I had shares in Omega 3.

Runs back out.

Pinions · 25/06/2007 13:36

And before I forget, if any of you actually agree and see that there is definitely a difference please will you let us all know.

I know that I think there is a huge difference, but would also be interesting to hear somebody elses view.

Pinions · 25/06/2007 13:40

God post NO 4 in a row:

Another tip is to try and buy the oil, cos it can simply be poured into a drink of orange and then shaken. You get a small or large bottle. The small ones about £4, the large about £8.

If you buy the capsules, or things disguised as "sweets" they cotton pretty quickly and stop agreeing to take them, also they taste rank.

Katy44 · 25/06/2007 13:43

CONGRATULATIONS Yvie!!!! When's the big day? Or have you not got down to that level of detail yet?
(and happy birthday as well BTW )

(Lovely photo Katy x).

Sexonknackeredlegs · 25/06/2007 13:59

Oh Yvie, many congratulations to you and your dp! How exciting.

Pinions, thanks for the great advice re the omega 3. I will definitely let you know of any effects. As I said, I am starting to keep a log of B's behaviour, so will be v interesting. Need to venture out soon but the weather is so off-putting. Got soaked getting in and out of the car earlier.

Maveta, I imagine it can get a bit much the heat. I know when B was small, we had to put her to sleep downstairs with the patio doors open and a fan going as it was such a hot summer.

Right, better go as K is about to kick off. Not sure why, as she is fed and clean. Peed off with the weather probably!!

weeonion · 25/06/2007 14:15
