lazyemma · 14/06/2007 21:47

yes please Ellie - email is [email protected]

WestCountryLass · 14/06/2007 21:47

WaspElly, could you not take Cameron with you? I took mine with me no bother

nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 21:48

Waspelly - Erin's still the littlest! 9lb 1/2oz at 8wks 6days! Aww...we've just got the petite ones

Could you not have taken Cameron to your 6 week check? I know my doc wouldn't have minded.

EllieK · 14/06/2007 21:49

I've been meaning to ask - how is everyone getting on with their pelvic floors? Are you doing your exercises? I keep forgetting. But now I've started doing my Nell McAndrew aerobics DVD to try to shed some of the lard I've accrued and - well. Let's just say I've had to stop with the star jumps.

How long does it take your pelvic floor to get back in shape, if you do the kegel things?

Sexonknackeredlegs · 14/06/2007 21:53

Hi LE, K is doing well thanks, and tbh I just think her digestive system was a bit immature which was causing problems. Having said that, the HV spoke to the GP, and the GP has asked I make an appointment and they will look at trying her on Gaviscon.

How is B?

Right, really need to go to bed, as feel a bit dizzy from tiredness!

Night lovely lovely ladies. xx

lazyemma · 14/06/2007 21:53

excellent - thanks Ellie. I will go and look now.

oooggs · 14/06/2007 21:53

Ah couldn't resist the nappy and sling chat!

Well done on your nappies nutty - dh got their in the end! Let me know how you get on.

I have been wrangling with my huggababy aswell - have found that if tighten the strap he fits snugly into me tummy upright with or without legs hanging out!

I have an ellaroo deluxe in gorgeous duck egg blue and cream flowers - haven't used it yet - bought it for £30 second hand - cost £42 new - has quite long straps which not sure about - but one of those most beautiful items you MUST have! Have a look on the little possums website.

Ernie had jabs today - very sleepy/screechy/grizzly - think we are in for a long night - and ds2 is still up aarrgghhh - I want to go to bed!

When was in doctors there was another little baby sat with mum next to me - didn;t know her - but did the ooh how old thing - she was 10 weeks and about the same size as Ernie and then she said she was going to start weaning tomorrow I am quite open minded about when people start to wean - but the baby was so tiny and could not imagine starting on foor with Ernie for ages yet - so much hassle and faff! (lets not get into the weaning debate! ) I didn;t say anything - just smiled as she went on to say that she was a hungry baby - why on earth would you share this info with a stranger when you know it is way against the guidelines - think she was either after some kind of reassurance or a fight LOL ... anyway moving on ....

Man coming to design/quote for kitchen on saturday and going to friends for bbq on sunday so busy weekend!

Away the week after in Cornwall - can't wait to get to the beach!

nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 21:55

Pelvic floors - hmm what's one of those I keep forgetting too. Also I have no idea if I'm doing them right when I do remember...

EllieK · 14/06/2007 21:55

bloody hell oooggs

Eca had a twin mummy moment yesterday, i went to loo, her T was crying and so was Joe, she said she suddenly knew how you feel

OP posts:
EllieK · 14/06/2007 21:58

know what you mean re: weaning Octo, Matthew was only 3 months when hv recommended i start, but he was ff, bf Joe is just so easy i really can't be bothered with the faff of food

OP posts:
Eddas · 14/06/2007 21:59

SOKL, if ds needs a feed at dd's betime then I feed him and she goes to bed a little bit late, BUT he alwys finishes a bottle in about 15mins. Also sometimes if I know he'll need a feed at 7 (dd's betime) i'll just either do it early or put her up early!

If he's unsettled I just take him with me and he'll lay on her bed whilst i get her ready/read a sotry etc, but he likes laying on his own always has done, even in the hospital he stopped crying when i put him on his own in the middle of the bed

oooggs · 14/06/2007 21:59

hey octo bring some nice weather with you please hun!!!

Eca - twin mummy moment - sound like motocross when they are both at it

Ellie - military operation, I'll have then on a whistle soon like the Sound of Music

nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 22:00

Hi Octo...yes he gave in but nearly hit the floor from shock when I told him how much I'd spent! (Then when I listed everything we'd have - the stuff from Flame plus 2 Beehinds & a Beehind wrap from council plus the 30 terries and 36 pairs of plastic pants I have I think it really scared him )

Erin had her jabs too...thought she was going to be ok but a couple of hours later she was hot and grizzly, gave her some calpol which did help and she's been sleepy for the rest of the day. Just hoping it doesn't mess her routine up.

nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 22:02

Ellie - you've just remindded me. I've been meaning to ask...the advice to wean at 6 months does that apply to all babies (rather than just formula fed or just breastfed)? Just I was thinking the growth charts are based on formula fed babies and they never really tll you do they, so anyone know about the weaning advice?

octo · 14/06/2007 22:05

where are you ooggs? We have rented aa cottage between Padstow and Newquay. Always go that way as love the beaches and the odd glass of wine at Rick Steins! (oops and some fish of course!) Would like to try Fifteen but think you would struggle to get into before christmas - may go and check it out online and see.

The boys love the beach - ds1 is getting into boogie boarding and I have one so we go out together - not sure how going to deal with breastpads/swimsuit/wetsuit thing - lilypadz may be needed! This year I have got some of those wrist band i.d. straps for the boys in case they get lost!

EllieK · 14/06/2007 22:07

it's for all babies, but i have to say i won't be following it, i will be doing what seems right for Joe, Matthew was weaned early and was fine, and the advice was 4 months until quite recently, so i really believe you should just do what seems right for your child

OP posts:
EllieK · 14/06/2007 22:08

tho i would say 10 wks was pshing it

OP posts:
octo · 14/06/2007 22:08

thr growth charts are now for bf babies.

the advice for weaning is 6 months - but my hv says do it when you feel ready - may be before may be later - its up to you - some people feel really strongly about it - but it is your your baby and you know them best and whether you are up to food yet!

nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 22:11

Are the growth charts for bf babies...how do I find ones for FF?

EllieK · 14/06/2007 22:11

i'd just ignore the charts altogether nutty

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 14/06/2007 22:16

Well I'm not really too fussed about how she's following them but I'm a mathmo so my geek head wants to see the difference
